CHAPTER 167: BORED. NEW SHOP!

While the other members of the Rising Wave group returned, Mia and Simon took the family back to their home.

They returned to the group’s base after dropping them off in front of their house while the family went in.

It was still early in the evening and a few hours until dinner. Zoran left the house after taking a quick bath and changing into new clothes. He said that he was going to check on something that he had discussed with their mother.

After Zoran left, their mother brought Alicia and Emily out and they went shopping. Alex was left by himself at home.

He didn’t worry about Alicia going with his mother and sister, the beast had been well behaved and he was sure that she knew what should and shouldn’t be done.

Left alone at home, Alex had nothing in mind that he wanted to do, so he brought out his phone and began to search for random things.

After a while, he got bored and stopped searching. Alex decided to go for a walk.

Stepping into the streets of the outskirts, Alex took a moment to admire the view as random thoughts jumped into his mind.

It had been two months since he came to this world, and he wondered how things were in his other world and what happened to the other kid who got into the crash with him.

Did his old family still think of him? Well, it’s been barely two months so they should still miss him, right?

Alex walked past some Union officers who were patrolling, he noticed that someone was secretly following him.

Alex was aware that they were one of the people who were sent by the principal of Emily’s school.

Alex immediately thought of something to do since he was bored, he should pay the principal a visit!

Since they now had Alicia, he didn’t have to worry about his family’s safety anymore when he wasn’t around to protect them. His parents still have the trinity bracelets that he had bought at the auction so these people weren’t needed anymore.

After all, they were only at the Core mage rank. What use would they be in a situation where even Alicia and the twin bracelets were unable to help?

With a purpose in mind, Alex increased his walking pace. He quickly turned into a quiet corner and disappeared with a Void walk.

The person who was following him was shocked when he suddenly lost sight of Alex after he turned a corner. He didn’t think that Alex might have been kidnapped since the kidnapper wouldn’t have been so fast and he would have sensed the other party.

Could it be that the kid noticed him and ran away? That could most likely be the case since Alex was an Adept mage and was only a rank weaker.

He decided to look around a bit before returning.

Meanwhile, Alex had equipped his mask and robe and had already reached Emily’s school after using Void Walk just once.

He opened the second gateway in the principal’s office and stepped out soon after.

The principal was reading through some files in his office and didn’t notice Alex until he spoke up.

Surprised, the principal got up to greet him but Alex waved to stop the other party.

He didn’t care about formalities and went straight to the reason why he had come; he wanted the principal to withdraw everyone he had sent to watch the other student Emily’s family.

The principal was stunned to hear this and asked why. Alex replied that he had made other arrangements and the people that the principal had sent were no longer of much use since they were too weak.

He went further to add that even if the principal personally did the job, he still wasn’t going to be of much use.

The principal took a deep breath after hearing Mr Chen’s words. He would have been offended if it were someone else who made such a statement. After all, he was an Expert rank mage which could be considered moderate strength in the world of mages.

However, the person who had said those words was Mr Chen, the principal didn’t dare refuse and nodded in acceptance.

He promised to do as Alex had instructed right away. Alex was satisfied with the man’s attitude and decided to tip him. He gave the principal another Union card that had over 50 million Zen in it before leaving.

After leaving Emily’s school, Alex went to the base of the Rising Wave group to kill time.

Many of the members weren’t around when he came, including Mia, Selena, and Simon. Alex had expected not to see Simon since Mia wasn’t around.

The woman took Simon as her personal driver and would have him drive her to wherever she wanted to go.

The members who were present were the ones with whom Alex didn’t interact that much, but he had a good impression of them. After some casual words, Alex went up to check the training rooms that he had heard about before.

After spending some time in the training rooms, Alex came out disappointed. He regretted not checking them out before he reached the Saint mage rank.

The training rooms were meant for only those who were below the Master mage rank, for someone who had reached the Saint rank like Alex, the training rooms were like fun houses to him.

There were rooms to test the casting speed of a mage, the strength of their spells, reaction time, and even actual combat modes. But Alex wasn’t able to enjoy being in any of them since everything felt too easy.

Thankfully, quite some time had gone by since he left home and it was time to go back.

He soon left the RWGB and returned to the outskirts. His mother had already returned with the two girls, and they were getting busy in the kitchen.

Alex went to join them since he had nothing to do. Emily was excited to see him and told him that their mother had gotten a lot of beautiful dresses for her and Alicia, she also bought some clothes for Alex as well and had placed them in his room.

Alex could understand why the girl was happy about getting more clothes. Since their living conditions weren’t too good previously and they were in debt, it had been quite a long time since any of them got new clothes.

Their current clothes were years old and only looked fine because of how they had taken care of them.

Alex thanked his mother for the clothes, a bright smile on his face. He would go check them out later.

He glanced at the awkward Alicia, who was trying her best to follow what was going on in the kitchen and couldn’t help but chuckle silently.

All of this was new to the windrend, so she looked lost a few times, and her movements were rough when handling some of the items in the kitchen.

After a few minutes, their mother informed them that dinner would soon be ready and that they should go freshen up.

On his way to his room, Alex noticed that Alicia didn’t follow Emily to her room but was following him instead.

"What is it?" He turned around and asked.

Alicia flinched slightly before saying that he had something to tell Alex. Alex stayed silent for a bit before inviting her into his room. Now in Alex’s room, Alicia stood in front of the door for a couple of seconds without saying anything.

"Did you have something to tell me, or did you come to sightsee in my room?" Alex’s cold voice pulled her back to her senses and she hurriedly began to speak.

It turned out that she had discovered that someone was following them when they went shopping earlier, but since the other party didn’t do anything besides following them, Alicia didn’t take action and wanted to report to him first.

Alex was stunned when he heard this and secretly let out a sigh of relief, good thing that Alicia decided to report to him first instead of taking action.

That poor fellow might have gotten hurt because of him.

Alex told her that he knew about it and that it was actually his arrangement. He also informed her that she didn’t have to worry about being followed around since this was going to be the last time.

He didn’t hide it from Alicia that the purpose of the person who was following them was to ensure the safety of his family, but now that she was here, that responsibility was now hers.

Alicia was speechless but didn’t complain, she left soon after and returned to Emily’s room.

Some time later, Zoran returned and everyone gathered for dinner. After eating, Zoran called for a meeting.

He even invited Alicia since she was now a part of the family. They weren’t a family with one son and one daughter anymore.

They now had two daughters!

As for the purpose of the meeting, Zoran announced that he had purchased a shop in the commercial district where he would be selling mana cores and low-ranked magic items!
