Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors
Chapter 176: Dean of Dragonic Magic Academy
CHAPTER 176: DEAN OF DRAGONIC MAGIC ACADEMY
Alex turned and faced branch leader Clint. The latter noticed that Mr Chen was looking in his direction and asked if Mr Chen needed him for anything.
Alex obviously wasn’t going to say that his father had come to request a trading license but had been declined, he took another approach to the matter.
"Looks like you don’t lecture your staff enough and allow them to treat non-mages anyhow they like." He voiced out.
Clint’s face immediately turned pale upon hearing Mr Chen’s words, he wondered if any of the staff had offended him somehow.
Julius and William also listened without making a sound; they knew how petty Mr Chen could be, even though nobody dared to say it. Which staff member didn’t know Mr Chen in Balon City and dared to offend him? Was that person tired of living?
"Why do you say so, Mr Chen?" Clint nervously asked what happened.
Alex then said that he wanted to check the attitude of the Union members toward ordinary folks, so he had come to the Union without his mask and claimed that he wanted to get a trading license.
But because he didn’t have connections with the woman on duty and he wasn’t present as Mr Chen, the woman had disregarded him and sent him away rudely along with others.
Julius, William, and Clint were shocked after listening to Mr Chen and hearing that he had come to the Union building without his mask and robe.
They had always wondered what Mr Chen looked like behind his mask, who would have thought he came to the Union building without his mask?
Anyways, the shock of Mr Chen coming with his real appearance didn’t distract Clint from the main issue.
A worker had been rude to Mr Chen because they thought he was a nobody!
This was a serious matter. Although Clint hated to admit that he was aware of some similar cases happening in the past, he wasn’t in support and would often interfere.
But the thing was that he wasn’t always around and was mostly unaware of such activities since others were overseeing those tasks, he couldn’t possibly be monitoring the attitude of his workers every time as a branch leader, right?
That aside, the fact that Mr Chen had been disregarded was a big matter. Clint sincerely apologised to him and promised to do something about the behaviour of his staff.
Clint also asked if Alex knew the name of the person who had attended to him so that he could have a talk with them later.
Alex didn’t know the name of the person either so he gave the description that his father had given him.
"I understand," Clint stated and promised to do something about this arrogant staff.
With this settled, Alex turned around and left. He believed that Clint would really do something since it was related to him, and the attitude of the Union workers towards common people was bound to become more humble for some period.
At least his father would now be able to get his licence easily.
Alex arrived in his room some time later with Void Walk, he took off his robe and mask before entering his bed.
Dawn was just a few hours away so Alex didn’t try to get some sleep and just stayed up through the rest of the night, thinking of Ellie.
How was he going to approach her next? What should he say? Would she feel comfortable talking with him?
A lot of questions ran through Alex’s mind, and he suddenly smacked himself on his left cheek.
Pah!
The sound of the slap was louder than he had expected but luckily, he didn’t wake up the others who were still sleeping.
Alex had slapped himself to get himself together, he was on the verge of freaking out.
"Is this what it feels like to fall in love at first sight? Dangerous." Alex mumbled to himself as he rubbed his cheek.
He reminded himself that he needed to stay calm and not be impatient, this feeling might be something temporary and might disappear after some time.
Honestly, Alex didn’t like feeling this way; almost all of his thoughts were about Ellie, which wasn’t a good thing as it might affect ’Mr Chen’
To keep himself occupied, Alex called out his system’s profile.

Alex took a look at his exp points.
’Hmm, a bit over 27k, that’s too little.’
He would go farm some exp when he was free. Next, he opened the craftsman skill and began to experiment.
Alex lost track of time while experimenting with different spells that he could craft and before he knew it, it was already morning and his parents were already up.
The solo matches for the second round of the tournament were being held today, and his match against Laura was today!
Alex got up from bed, put his room in order, and went out to help downstairs.
Alicia also came down to help make breakfast and clean the house. A while later, everyone had gotten ready to head out and were having breakfast together.
Alicia asked if she could stay back, she didn’t want to go see the tournament.
When asked why, she said that it was too noisy for her and she wasn’t comfortable with being around so many people.
The couple thought that it was something related to the girl’s past so they didn’t force her and agreed that she could stay behind, but was she going to be all by herself?
Emily didn’t want to leave Alicia behind; she asked if Alicia was sure she didn’t want to come and watch. She added that Alex’s match was today.
Alicia found the matches of the other students boring as they were too weak but she was curious as to what Alex’s match would be like, what was he going to do to his opponent?
"Then can I go today but not go next time?" She asked, and the couple agreed. Zoran wasn’t planning to go watch the rest of the tournament for this week after all, since he would be busy with his new shop, he suggested bringing Alice along with him so that she wouldn’t be by herself at home.
Alex just watched them decide from the side without commenting. In his opinion, it was up to Alicia if she wanted to watch the tournament or not, he didn’t care if she came or stayed home.
After breakfast, the five of them left their home and took a cab to the tournament venue.
The area around the stadium was very lively despite it being so early in the morning. All of the participating academies had already arrived and hundreds of spectators streamed into the stadium.
They separated after entering the stadium. Alex went to the sitting area of the Dragonic Magic Academy, while his parents, Emily, and Alicia went to sit elsewhere.
Reaching the sitting area of his academy, Alex saw the Vice Dean chatting with a strange old man at the top row.
The old man appeared to be in his sixties, with grey hair and a long beard, his skin wrinkled, but his eyes were sharp. He wore a dark green garment with multiple rings on his fingers.
At a glance, Alex was able to see that the old man was an Archmage.
Another Archmage!
He wondered who this old man was and why he was in the sitting area of the Dragonic Magic Academy.
Alex had barely settled down in his seat when he heard the voice of the old man.
"Is that him?"
"Yes," the voice of the Vice Dean answered.
"Hey, red haired kid." The old man called out.
Alex knew that the other party was referring to him, so he turned to look at him. Alex saw the old man grinning at him with his full set of teeth showing.
"Hehe, I know you’re surprised. Don’t be, I’m the Dean of the Dragonic Magic Academy." The old man laughed out casually as if what he said wasn’t something important.
However, the words shocked all of the students present and they all turned to stare at the old man. Alex included.
This was the Dean of the academy?! One had to know that many of the students had not seen the Dean since they entered the academy, so they naturally didn’t recognise him; they were only familiar with the vice Dean.
"Hehe, I know that you must be shocked. It’s expected since I’ve been away for a long time and have left the academy in the care of the Vice Dean." The Dean laughed, he then explained that he usually only came to the academy during every tournament period but didn’t stay for long before returning.
"I’ve heard a lot about you, Alex. I’m looking forward to your performance." The Dean said in high spirits. He was in a good mood after hearing that his academy had entered the second round.
"Hmph, what can he possibly do as an Adept mage?" Teacher Arnold snorted from the side.
"Arnold, shut up." The Dean turned to teacher Arnold and said coldly.
Everyone "..."
