Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors
Chapter 182: Silver horned drake
CHAPTER 182: SILVER HORNED DRAKE
They exchanged a few words before Julius reminded Alex of what they had discussed previously, he wanted to know if Alex had come to a decision regarding him becoming an instructor at the Brandvel Magic University.
Alex felt that even though he didn’t know anything to teach others about, this was an opportunity to form a connection with the biggest magic university in the country so he didn’t decline.
Instead, he told Julius that he was almost always busy and might not have time to attend lectures like other instructors in the university.
After all, he needed to attend classes as a normal student so he wouldn’t be able to roleplay as instructor Chen.
Julius was happy to hear this response from Mr Chen; it meant that he was willing to become an instructor, but was worried about his busy schedule.
"That’s totally fine, Mr Chen. There’s a solution for that. You can become an honorary instructor at the university.
This way, you won’t be obliged to teach students every day, and you can come to lectures at your own convenience, just remember to inform the students beforehand when your class will be held.
In addition to being an honorary instructor, you can teach any topic of your choice, what do you think?" Julius explained energetically, and he also made it clear to Alex that he would still have the same privileges and respect as normal instructors.
Alex’s eyes lit up behind his mask when he heard this, this situation was perfect for him.
"Then I’ll accept the offer," Alex said.
"Wonderful, we’ll still be here for the rest of the tournament. After we return, you can come to the capital and look for me anytime so we can finalise the procedures for you to fully become an honorary instructor; I’ll also inform the Dean and board members before your arrival." Julius said, and Alex nodded in response; the topic ended there.
Alex returned his focus to Ellie. He wanted to speak more with her, but didn’t know what to say. He then remembered the egg that Cici was protecting the other day. He asked Ellie what creature the egg belonged to, and why she had decided to face such a dangerous situation instead of escaping.
He believed that as an Archmage, even if her opponents included an Archmage and Master rank mages, she should be able to run away if she really wanted to.
Ellie gladly explained to Mr Chen that the egg belonged to a silver-horned fire drake.
Drakes were a lesser species of dragons with unimaginable combat prowess, a single one could cause great havoc in a City if no Sage or higher rank mage was around to stop them.
This was the reason she didn’t want the egg to fall into the hands of the people from the Dark Union, one could imagine the sort of evil they would do if they had such a powerful magic beast.
Although the egg would take a long time to hatch and an even longer time for the silver-horned drake to reach maturity, the Dark Union would patiently wait for it so that they could cause a disaster.
Alex was enlightened after listening to Ellie’s words; he knew what a drake was from fantasy stories in his past life. Ellie had done well by not allowing the Dark Union to get the egg.
After talking to them a bit more, Alex returned to ask Clint and William about the killer’s sanctuary barrier.
The two were surprised that Mr Chen raised such a question and asked if he was present at the tournament earlier. Alex said he wasn’t present but had heard about it after he returned. He asked if there were any in the equipment vault, but was informed that even the Union Core Centre in the capital didn’t have one at the moment.
He was told that the only way to get one was if he came across it in an auction, or made a public request for it in return for a high sum or another high-value magic item.
"I see," Alex mumbled and decided to forget about the killer’s sanctuary barrier for now, his family still had the twin bracelets and Alicia after all.
Alex spent some more time at the Union building before returning home. It was already late evening when he got home and his father had returned as well.
Zoran informed them that he had finally gotten his trading license from the Union today after spending just a couple of hours there; the service was far better than before, and the arrogant woman wasn’t present today.
He learned from others that the woman had been replaced earlier that day. Zoran asked if Alex had anything to do with this since he said he was going to do something about it.
But Alex denied having any involvement in the matter, saying that he hadn’t even informed Aunt Mia yet.
"Maybe the higher-ups of the Union finally noticed the unfair treatment of their workers." Their mother commented as she invited everyone to come for dinner.
While they ate, Zoran announced that since he now had his trading license, he would start stocking the shop the next day and wanted everyone to come help out.
Everyone readily agreed, they had nothing else to do tomorrow anyway, and the family’s first shop was a big deal, so they were excited to go.
After dinner, everyone went to their rooms to spend the rest of the night. Alex didn’t sneak out that night and also went to sleep.
Morning came quickly with a gentle ray of sunlight that pierced from the distant sun, and the day began.
Zoran left home first without eating breakfast, he asked his wife to bring some for him when they were coming to the shop; he was going to go make preparations first.
Cleaning up the house, making breakfast and packing lunch, three hours passed in the blink of an eye before everyone was ready to leave for their new shop.
Zoran already sent the address of the place to his wife so they wouldn’t have any issues finding the place.
Alex, Emily, their mother, and Alicia left their home on the outskirts of Balon City and took a cab to the commercial district of Balon City.
The ride took some time before they arrived at the busy commercial district, where shops, tall buildings, and well-dressed people populated the place.
One could tell at a glance that a lot of money was moving around in this place.
They came down from the cab in front of a structure, the building wasn’t too large but wasn’t small either.
Two large glass doors made the entrance and one could see the inside of the shop from outside. The building looked well-maintained, and a sign hung in front of it, just above the two glass doors.
The words "A&E Magic item shop!" were written on the sign. Alex instantly knew that their parents had taken the first letters of his name and Emily’s to name the shop, and he felt warm inside.
"Come, let’s go in." Their mother beckoned to them as she approached the glass doors. With a quiet sound, the door slid open on its own after they got close to it, and they entered the shop.
"Honey, we have arrived!" Alex’s mother called out after they entered the shop.
