CHAPTER 186: A MONSTER

"What did you do to her?" Alex voiced out, his tone was low but the five men heard him. Alex knew that some freaks liked doing things to young girls but from what he could see, it looked like whipping was the only thing they had done to Emily.

"Huh, what do you mean? We only just got started and haven’t reached the fun part yet. Don’t worry, you’ll be here long enough to see it yourself." One of the men who had a cigarette between his lips said with a crazed grin.

The two men who were smoking were Core mages and due to Aura meter still active, they thought Alex was an Adept rank mage and they could easily capture him as well.

"Hehe, this kid is actually a fine piece of work, very few are as pretty as she is." One of the three men who held whips said while clicking his tongue, his free hand moved to Emily’s chest as he spoke.

Alex’s eyes flashed with a red glint when he saw this.

Whoosh!

He suddenly disappeared from the collapsed entrance of the warehouse with a burst of wind and appeared beside Emily the next moment, his hand moved like lightning as he grabbed the wrist of the man before he could touch Emily.

The five men "..."

They were all shocked as they turned their heads to see the red-haired kid now standing beside the unconscious girl and holding the hand of their companion. How did he get over there so fast?!

The man whose hand was grabbed had a mix of horror and shock as he felt the powerful grip around his wrist; it felt like he was gripped by a metal arm, and he couldn’t move even an inch. He was also starting to feel pain as the grip around his wrist tightened.

"Keep, your dirty hands away from her."

Alex spat out the words slowly in a deep tone, and at the end of his words.

Crack!

A clear bone-shattering sound rang out as Alex applied force to the man’s wrist, shattering his bones and causing his wrist to explode into pieces of flesh and blood that flew all over the place.

"Arhhh!"

The man let out a heart-wrenching scream as he staggered backwards while gripping his now bloodied hand, his pupils trembled as he stared at Alex with a mixture of disbelief and resentment.

Alex’s gaze remained calm even after he had just broken the man’s hand. He casually waved his hand and tossed the ripped-off palm of the man to the side before turning his attention to Emily beside him.

Meanwhile, the remaining four of the five men all stood up and got into position after one of them was injured.

"He’s a mage so don’t approach him, we’ll take care of him." The two Core mages said with wicked glints in their eyes.

But Alex wasn’t paying any attention to them. He held the chains that were suspending Emily in mid-air and broke them with force. Emily’s body dropped, and he caught her gently.

His expression changed drastically as he looked at Emily’s unconscious face, he could see the bruises and palm prints on her face, and her blood felt sticky on his hands.

"I’m sorry," Alex said in a low whisper, his voice filled with guilt as if what happened to Emily was his fault.

Boom!

Alex’s body suddenly exploded with the violent mana of a Saint rank mage, a powerful gust of wind exploded around him and the shockwave swept in all directions.

The four walls of the warehouse were instantly blown away, as well as the roof, and every other nearby structure within a radius of five hundred meters.

Everything was destroyed and now under the sight of the clear sky. Luckily, it seems that the entire area was private property of Laura’s family, as only a few people were within the range of the shockwave.

However, they had been blown away as well. The same happened to the five men who were in the warehouse previously, they were sent flying and crashed into the ground several meters away.

The three non-mages amongst them were directly blasted into pieces of flesh and blood by the shockwave while the two Core mages were seriously injured but were still alive.

Alex wasn’t intending to harm them, but he didn’t really care about them right now and wasn’t paying them any attention; he had released his full strength for a reason.

In the commercial district, Alicia sat lazily at the counter while trying to read a book. As a magic beast, reading was never something she really cared about. But now that she was getting used to being in Alex’s family and didn’t want to return home, he wanted to learn this to kill time.

Zoran had left some time ago so she was the only one left in the shop and was trying to figure out what she was looking at in the book.

However, she suddenly felt a powerful presence and raised her head from the book she was reading. Her eyes widened, and her pupils shrank in instinctual fear.

She recognised this aura, it was Alex!

Before she could think of what would make Alex release his full strength inside the city, she heard his voice in her head.

"Come."

It was a single word, yet it made Alicia’s entire body shiver. She didn’t waste even a second and disappeared from the shop the next moment.

Back at the warehouse. The place was now a ruin, Alex was standing in the middle of what used to be a large warehouse with Emily in his arms.

After giving the order to Alicia, he withdrew his aura and he looked like an Adept mage once more.

The two surviving Core mages forced themselves to get up in the distance, their bodies were covered in blood and even some of their bones had bent out of shape.

The two of them looked around, horror written all over their faces.

When they looked back at Alex, it was as if they were looking at a demon.

At this moment, a young girl with long black hair appeared beside Alex. It was Alicia.

"You called," Alicia stated in fear after seeing Alex. On her way here, she was worried that Alex was mad at her or had changed his mind which was why he released his full strength.

But the moment she arrived, she noticed the unconscious Emily in Alex’s arms and the miserable state she was in. Alicia was shocked and then enraged.

She might be a magic beast but she had grown somewhat fond of Emily. The kid was a sweet kid; who dared to do this to her?!

’Now I know why he did that.’ Alicia thought to herself. She even wanted to rip the person who hurt Emily to shreds, it was only logical for Alex to go mad.

"Here, take her to a hospital and get a plant mage to use a healing spell on her," Alex mumbled with an expressionless voice as he carefully passed Emily over to Alicia, he also gave her a Union card from his storage ring.

Alicia felt a cold chill when she heard Alex’s voice, she felt like death was whispering to her.

She immediately took Emily and the card before disappearing.

After Alicia left, Alex finally turned his gaze to the two Core mages in the distance. He realised that three had died due to his energy blast after seeing the bloody mess around the place.

"There are just two of you left? Hmm, I didn’t want them to die so easily; guess I’ll just have to make do with you both." Alex whispered casually, a wide grin forming on his lips without him knowing.
