Chapter 34  Unexpected Incident

The next morning, Yang Mi woke up from her sleep, feeling sore all over her body. This was a normal phenomenon after exercise, with lactic acid buildup.

Where is everyone?

Yang Mi felt the empty spot beside her and touched it. She sat up and glanced around. It wasn’t as bad as she had imagined. The floor was very clean. The trash can was also clean.

Qu Yiming was sitting at the dining table, typing on his laptop.

Leaning against the doorframe, Yang Mi lazily asked, “Aren’t you working today?”

“Today is Sunday. How could you forget?”

“Oh, right.”

“The toothbrush and cup that haven’t been used are on the washstand in the bathroom, you’ll see them when you go in. The rice cooker in the kitchen has breakfast, so go grab it after you’re done washing up.”

“Okay.”

After washing up, Yang Mi brought out breakfast: millet porridge, steamed corn, and eggs. The corn was cut into segments. Seeing that Qu Yiming was fully focused on what he was writing, Yang Mi didn’t dare disturb him. She quietly finished her breakfast, washed the dishes, then found the sheets she had changed out of last night. She unfolded them, examined them, and then took scissors to cut a part of it from the center, placing it in a bag.

After finishing that, Yang Mi found the unfinished “Gintama” manga from last night, sat on the couch, and started reading. She had just finished filming Beauty’s Scheme not long ago and hadn’t taken any new roles or received any new offers. She was on a work hiatus, so it was rare to have such a relaxing time. Time passed, and it was noon.

“Yawn~”

After creating for the whole morning, Qu Yiming stretched, rubbed his sore eyes, and then looked towards the couch. Yang Mi had unknowingly fallen asleep, and now she was lying on the couch, fast asleep. She had been really exhausted last night.

What should we have for lunch?

“No, the Jiong series doesn’t have any important female roles. This is a new story, and you’ll definitely be the lead.”

“WOW~” Yang Mi exclaimed, her face filled with admiration. “Director Qu, you’re amazing.”

Qu Yiming teased, “Quit being so dramatic, just eat your noodles.”

Yang Mi felt more at ease now. She hadn’t worked in vain!

After lunch, Yang Mi kept pestering Qu Yiming to show her the script. Naturally, Qu Yiming refused to let her see it.
