Adam continued to bite into the mango, beaming proudly, for Taygak held the Crimson Blade’s crimson blade, the young woman feeling the tingling of magic running through her fingers. Adam had made it very obvious that he wanted Taygak to play with the sword, and in order to keep the ridiculously powerful monster satisfied, the Amira had allowed it, though the older Aswadian held no qualms.

“Mister Adam, everyone always wants to fight you,” Kizwolima eventually said, narrowing her eyes towards the half elf. “Why?”

“I’m too handsome,” the half elf replied, sighing lightly.

“You are?” Kizwolima asked, raising her brow incredulously.

Adam blinked, leaning towards his side. “I think Kizwolima might be my daughter.”

“Why?” Dunes replied, only to see Kizwolima’s expression. “Oh.”

“Yeah,” the half elf replied. ‘I mean, I was passed out for a while when we made our way down, but she seems to be older than three, so there’s no way, right?’

The Amira sipped her tea lightly, her mind still racing, glad the group were speaking amongst one another, not about the fight, seemingly a typical occurrence for them all. As the time passed, she collected her thoughts, with gratitude for the Iyrmen to allow her to collect her thoughts, however, why would they allow her to do such? It would have been beneficial for them to continue discussing while she was flustered, but they seemed not to care about it.

“Executive Adam, you mentioned the business would enchant the blade you gifted,” the Amira said. “May I ask what kind of enchantments I would be able to request?”

“If you make a list, we will go from the top of the list to the bottom, and pick which the Enchanter would be able to complete,” the half elf replied.

“Do you have any recommendations?”

“If it’s for you, then something like Deep Flame Blade, but stronger?”

“I would like to gift the sword to Crimson Blade, who granted me a favour, and thus should be rewarded in turn,” Miriam stated, as though the matter was so simple.

“I already possess the Crimson Blade, my Lady.”

“I would like the blade to possess a greater enchantment than even the Crimson Blade possesses,” the Amira said, keeping a firm gaze upon the half elf’s eyes.

“That depends on the enchantment on the blade,” Adam admitted. “If you are willing, I can Identify the blade, and then I can give you an answer?”

“Are you able to Identify it now?”

“I am,” Adam admitted.

“Please.” Miriam was glad she had another short while to think, hoping he would complete it through a ritual.

‘I probably should just spend a minute,’ Adam thought, holding the blade across his lap, clutching his pearl tight in hand, sending his Mana through the blade, strands of magic flicking all across the magical steel.

Mana: 18 - 17

Spell: Identify

Crimson Blade (+2)

Deals 3D6 Slash.

“Oh!” Adam said. “It’s a wonderful sword, with a simple enough enchantment. It’s a greater blade with greater damage, which is nice, but certainly we could enchant something that is identical, plus a little extra.”

“I will leave it in the wisdom of the Enchanter to enchant a finer blade.”

“Easy enough,” the half elf replied, offering the blade respectfully towards the Oathsworn, while Kizwolima leaned towards it. “Do you want to hold it?”

“Yes!”

“Then you need to ask Kal Zahid.”

“Kal Zahid, can I hold your sword?”

“What’s the magic word?”

“Please.”

Adam turned to the Crimson Blade. “Kizwolima requested, politely, to be able to hold your sword.”

“She may, though she must be careful,” Kal Zahid replied, while the half elf allowed Kizwolima to hold it, the young man holding most of the weight himself, as the girl held the sword by the handle, delight within her eyes.

“So, if I may be so cheeky to ask, what kind of weapons does the royal family, or the military of Aswadasad, require?” the half elf asked, flashing a gentle smile. “We have a wide variety of weapons, and offer quite a wide variety of weapons, though often we place them on auction, we can certainly work more closely with individuals to make sure each of our weapons are perfectly suited towards your unique desires.”

“We are currently in the search for Basic weapons, Greater too, for our various military companies,” the Amira replied, gauging his interest first.

“Of course! The bread and butter of the magical weapon, the most humble Basic sword, spear, and then, if you need something better, but you’re not too fussed about anything specifically, a Greater sword, like the one that our Taygak here carries, is also wonderful.”

“Would you consider ten Basic spears acceptable as a first request?”

“That depends on how much you’re willing to pay for ten Basic spears,” the half elf replied. “It is currently quite dangerous, what with all the Reavers, and we have business with a great many noble, ducal, families, but we are eager to also offer our services to Aswadasad, for a fair price.”

The Amira had hoped to gauge the price from the half elf, but this wasn’t unexpected. “We can offer nine hundred gold for each Basic spear, two thousand for each Greater spear, and we would be willing to trade obsidicule weapons, and if you are interested, for the Greater spears, we could offer jeticule weapons in payment.”

Adam cleared his throat, sitting up a little taller, even shuffling ever so slightly closer towards her, leaning forward with his hands clasped together. “Since you’ve mentioned jeticule, as the resident Head Smith, I know, I know, I said I was the High Alchemist, I am, but I am also the Head Smith, it’s just Head Alchemist holds a greater gravitas, and commands greater respect, but… I am very, very interested in jeticule. Specifically, if I may, the material.”

The Amira tilted her head slightly. “Jeticule is a material in which only the greatest of smiths can work.”

‘Can I work jeticule?’

Tools: Smithing, Jewellery

[Yes.]

“I wouldn’t say I was the greatest smith in the world, but it is my belief that I would be able to work jeticule,” the half elf admitted.

The Amira narrowed her eyes, for that would certainly be rather awkward for her, and the royal family. “Jeticule is a symbol of our family, and it matters a great deal to the royal family of Aswadasad. To allow another to work it is considered to be a great favour.”

“I appreciate it,” the half elf replied, a little too casually. “The great weapons we enchant are considered a symbol of our business, and matters a great deal to the United Kindom. To allow another to procure them, it is considered a great favour.”

The half elf’s laughter did not spur a smile upon the Amira’s face.

“I heard that you claim the mountains, and that you work mines with gems,” the half elf said, once he was done laughing, winking at the Amira, far too casual for a young man who was speaking with a member of the royal family, but then again, he did reveal himself to be greater than any warrior in their employ, and highly skilled in other matters. “Do you, by any chance, have small gems, uncut, scraps, so on, that you would be willing to trade? Especially those which are extremely colourful?”

“We do.”

The half elf smiled, raising up his hands. “Wonderful! Shall we speak more openly about business? Let us speak with clarity, Amira, plainly, simply. We are here to do business. We can offer Basic spears at a price of nine hundred gold. We can offer Greater spears at a price of two thousand. I would like silver, gold, obsidicule, jeticule, and if you have any nice woods on offer, that would be wonderful too. If you don’t want to offer jeticule, that’s perfectly fine, we are happy to trade exclusively Basic spears to Aswadasad, while Aldland’s ducal families procure Greater and Greater Enhanced weapons, because as much as I like to play games, when it comes to business, I like it when we’re a little more serious.”

“If we do not offer jeticule, you would not trade Greater weapons?” the Amira asked.

“As a friend of Queen Silvari, we can trade a single Greater spear, perhaps, in fact, I might even gift it to you, but if I come to you, open and honest, with respect, and I do not feel I am gaining the same in return, perhaps because I am not a member of royalty, so be it. Queen Silvari is not the only royal I am friendly with, that’s not to say of the figures who would terrify this land, ignoring them entirely, there are still other royal family members across this land I am friendly with, who are so happy to spoil my children, and thus, if they are in trouble, I, as someone who can behead the likes of the Fariq of High Garden so easily, who works as an Executive of a business that deals with Greater Enhanced weapons, I, who am considered so grand with my alchemy, hold the title of High Alchemist, and have saved other royal families with my alchemy, will support them in kind.” The half elf smiled, shrugging his shoulders, for perhaps there were those who could look down on him, and treat him unfairly, but a mortal royal family that lost two fifths of its kingdom?

Adam thought not.

Jurot was sure Adam had said too much, but since he didn’t speak too concretely about certain matters, he allowed the half elf to continue bullying the Amira.
