CHAPTER 746: LEAVING TERRA ONCE MORE (I)
Overlord stared calmly at Vlad and nodded slightly, his expression unwavering.
"I have conducted extensive research and numerous experiments regarding the Lords of Horror, Prima Master," the A.I. Chip Clone reported respectfully. He paused briefly and waved his hand, summoning a massive virtual screen filled with complex diagrams, genetic sequences, and detailed annotations.
"As demonstrated here," Overlord continued confidently, "I have managed to significantly accelerate and refine the transformation process, drastically reducing the spiritual pressure and achieving much greater harmony between spirit and body. However, the fundamental cultivation limitation faced by the Lords of Horror still eludes a definitive solution. Yet, with your recent ascension and transformation, this obstacle may finally become surmountable."
Vlad’s eyes narrowed thoughtfully as he studied Overlord’s meticulous data. While they had undeniably advanced greatly in the Doomsday World, the complexity involved in solving the Lords of Horror’s fundamental problem—a profound mismatch between genetic structures and spiritual harmonization—had always seemed beyond their reach.
However, Vlad refused to jump to conclusions hastily and listened carefully, considering Overlord’s perspective with an open mind.
Overlord elaborated further, his tone precise and detailed. "Your recent evolution into a True Depravita has elevated your physical body to an entirely unprecedented quantum state. Your flesh and blood now exist simultaneously as physical matter and as condensed psychic power. If I can extract and utilize your newly evolved genetic material, I believe it possible to confer some of these extraordinary quantum properties onto future Lords of Horror, thereby resolving their persistent bodily-spiritual disharmony."
The eyes of Vlad and the other Depravitas widened noticeably at this explanation. The depth and expertise of Overlord’s proposal exceeded anything they had previously imagined possible. Clearly, in terms of professional rank and expertise in Genetic Coding, Overlord had now surpassed even Vlad’s and Jormungandr’s accomplishments in Runecrafting and Alchemy.
"Are you genuinely suggesting it’s possible to integrate genetic material from a True Depravita into an ordinary being?" Jormungandr asked with evident curiosity and mild disbelief.
Although the small yellow cat was not an expert in genetic coding, his vast experience in alchemy—which often involved bloodlines and body transformations—made him keenly aware of how intricate and difficult such genetic transplantation would be, particularly involving the unique genome of a True Depravita.
Overlord turned composedly toward the small yellow cat. "If I relied solely upon my own abilities, that task would indeed be impossible. However..." At this point, Overlord’s gaze shifted meaningfully toward Fafnir, focusing intently on the Depravita of Envy. "If I were to enlist Lord Fafnir’s assistance, my likelihood of success would increase dramatically."
Fafnir’s expression grew somewhat complicated. He was undoubtedly willing to assist Overlord, yet he held no real expertise in genetic manipulation or coding.
"I only require Lord Fafnir to allow me temporary fusion with your consciousness," Overlord explained clearly, sensing Fafnir’s hesitation. "Doing so would grant me direct access to the core functionalities of the Tiamath Obelisk. With its unique genetic modification abilities, combined with my own expertise, I can confidently execute the necessary genetic implantation and assimilation."
Instantly, everything became clear to Fafnir. Essentially, the Tiamat Obelisk represented an extension of his own existence. Although he had previously enabled Overlord to utilize its basic functions—such as producing units and assimilating external resources—deeper, advanced genetic restructuring required an even closer connection.
Without direct mental access granted by Fafnir himself, Overlord’s capabilities were limited.
Fafnir quietly contemplated the request for several moments before decisively nodding. Although allowing another entity—even a trusted ally—to fuse temporarily with his consciousness made him feel slightly uncomfortable, he understood the greater significance. Nothing mattered more than the continued growth, prosperity, and security of the Xaos civilization.
Seeing Fafnir’s determined expression, Vlad nodded approvingly and smiled gratefully toward the Depravita of Envy. Fafnir’s willingness to sacrifice personal comfort clearly demonstrated his dedication to their shared goals.
With all the necessary pieces now in place, Vlad’s demeanor became sharply authoritative, issuing swift and clear directives.
"Overlord, you may immediately begin the procedure to extract my genetic material," Vlad commanded firmly.
"As you command, Prima Master," Overlord answered without hesitation, preparing quickly.
Turning next to Jormungandr, Vlad instructed, "Prioritize repairing and modifying the High Legend Automatons. Integrate them directly into the defense system of the Xaos Tower as swiftly as possible."
The small yellow cat’s eyes narrowed with determination as he nodded solemnly. Without delay, he summoned countless materials from his personal storage and immediately began working. His movements were fluid, precise, and deeply focused as he engaged in complex alchemical and runic alterations right there in the tower.
Then Vlad turned his attention back toward Fafnir and Ouroboros, his tone both supportive and serious. "Assist Overlord to the best of your abilities in securing the world’s defenses. But more importantly, utilize the abundant energy and peaceful conditions on Terra to finally complete your evolutions into True Depravitas."
Fafnir and Ouroboros listened carefully, their eyes filled with renewed determination. Achieving their transformation into True Depravitas had been their shared ambition for a long time now. They understood that Vlad foresaw imminent challenges requiring greater strength and were determined not to disappoint.
With satisfaction, Vlad observed their readiness and smiled warmly toward his trusted allies, knowing they would spare no effort.
"Once my genetic material extraction is complete, I will immediately depart for Graecia," Vlad informed them decisively. "I expect significant progress by the time I return."
"Prima Master," Overlord interjected respectfully just as Vlad finished speaking, drawing everyone’s attention. "If I may suggest, it would be wise to hold a small banquet and ceremonial celebration first. The ascension of our world is a significant milestone. Such events traditionally call for acknowledgment and festivity."
Vlad paused briefly, considering Overlord’s words carefully. Indeed, their successful ascension represented a profound achievement worthy of celebration. Moreover, formally commemorating Terra’s advancement would boost morale among their citizens and solidify Vlad’s authority and prestige among other civilizations.
Unfortunately, while there was a deep desire in his heart to celebrate the growth of the world and be with his friends, there was something even more important that required his attention.
