CHAPTER 71: THE AMBUSH 2

Meanwhile,

Akirion’s feet were shaking in fear, hands trembling, unable to clench his fist. His eyes were vibrating while glaring at the monster.

His mind raced at a fast pace. "It’s... it’s a monster," he said with his inner voice, and his vibrating mouth was mouthing, "M... m... mo... monster." It’s a monster!" said Akirion, sending shivers down Elina’s spine.

Elina ran short of energy to sustain the vibration of her legs; she then collapsed on the ground, her eyes widened. His heart thudded louder, his mind racing. ’A monster? No way, not in a place like this. We are doomed. These things destroyed my family!’ she silently said, her teeth gritted while her lips vibrated.

Meanwhile,

The monster responded to the guy who greeted him with a punch. And the ambush started as it started attacking.

______________________________________________

Brown aura monsters are the lower level of human-like monsters. These ones use their fist to fight their enemies. They also use magic, the same elemental magic powers just like humans. The brown aura monsters aren’t capable of using their magic powers at full potential; they only use a bit of their magic. If it’s fire, they can only use 20 fireballs

in a row and 2 fire arrows to deplete its arcana.

Back to the attack;

The kid who greeted the monster got a worse response that sent him flying to the walls of the stage. The monster punched the kid with a lot of energy without the kid seeing its movements. The monster was so fast that the kid couldn’t even see it blasting him.

The kid coughed blood after the impact he made with his back on a wall. His mouth released blood from all corners of his mouth, and his eyes looked sleepy and tired.

Gasps whirled over the stage, but they couldn’t stop its ambush. It blasted the other kids and sent them flying around. The screams were executed as fear flooded the arena.

Its smell didn’t decrease, and its brownish aura was following it as it loomed over the monster.

Akirion clenched his trembling fist as he saw his schoolmatesflying around like birds but in a different way because they were crashing into walls instead of landing on their feet.

’Damn this thing, grrrr, it’s not supposed to be here, and I’m not either, so let’s put it fair, since I’m here and it’s also here. So buckle up, Akirion; no trembling like jelly when you are on a battlefield.’ He silently motivated himself, his eyes boiling with anger as he watched the others being blown away like dust.

The trembling Elina remained on the ground; she wasn’t even watching the match. Her mind was racing, and she couldn’t see anything that was happening.

Erlin popped out of the tunnels that led to the stage and saw her classmates and others flying around as they got punched into the walls.

"W... wh... what’s that?" Erlin asked, her mouth trembling as fear flooded her body.

The motivated Akirion, who turned a blind eye to fear, replied to her with a deep angry voice, "It’s a monster!" he replied, his eyes glued to the stage where other kids were being blown.

Erlin suddenly lost her energy; fear flowed in her body, causing a sudden collapse that created a soft thud of something falling onto the ground. Erlin fainted out of astonishment and fear, as she wasn’t expecting any monster in the near future.

Suddenly the professor appeared from the tunnel since he heard loud screams from the stage. His eyes widened as he saw the status of the stage.

"Ohhh dear, what’s that?" The professor asked Akirion, who was standing looking at the stage.

"It’s a monster!" Akirion repeated the same answer to the professor.

The professor gasped, his eyes widened. His heart pounded, fear flowing down his body. Some chills caught his body as the cold attacked him. He started shaking, but he still had the strength to talk.

"Damn, it’s destroying everything; this is bad, totally bad. What’s the status? How many are down?" The professor panted, fear and astonishment coiled in his heart.

"Around 20 are drooling blood, and they’ve left a mark of themselves in that wall."

"Ohh god, almost a class is down?" The professor felt bad for the school, which was on the brink of collapsing.

"Exactly! And to be straight with you... we’ve got no chance against this thing. We are all insects. And the worst part is some of us are tired; we can’t even go against it, so... it’s game over for this school." Akirion said, his brows closing up.

"Huh? What are you saying, Akirion? That’s ridiculous. You are the hero for this school; you can’t just give up!"

"It’s better I gave a clear excuse! I’m tired; don’t you see that? I fought those guys, two guys in a row, and I didn’t get that manafuse thing, so I’m not at fault. Even though I’m the so-called school hero, I’m on the brink of collapsing. I can’t even picture myself going on a suicide mission against that thing. So it’s game over for all of us."

The professor ran out of words. Akirion was the school’s tough wall that was supposed to be blocking every attack, but he was the one giving up at first.

His mind raced, his heart fastly thudding in his chest, and crazy thoughts flooded his mind.

’Wait, did he just say "Manafuse"?’ the professor thought, his left brow quirked as a ray of hope flashed in his mind.

"You said manafuse, right?"

"Yes, manafuse will be better for energy boosting. Now how can I even think of attacking while I can’t even shoot a fire arrow?" Akirion said, his voice growling like a bee locked in a tin.

"You can use fireballs!"

"They won’t be effective enough for that thing; it can be like throwing a stone at an elephant."

"Ohh, so you are saying fireballs are that weak?"

"Enough chit-chat, go fetch me my sword."
