Billionaire Legacy: I Became Overpowered With My Spending System
Chapter 129 - ManaScope Live Broadcast
CHAPTER 129: CHAPTER 129 - MANASCOPE LIVE BROADCAST
Logan stared at his arm in disbelief and confusion, unsure what exactly happened.
"Why did both manas surge through it?" he muttered. "And why didn’t my arm disintegrate like last time?"
Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to calm down and went through the regeneration process step by step.
Compared to last time, there was only one key difference.
"I used undead mana to make the bones," he thought, eyes widening. "Could that be why?"
It made sense... kind of.
But as soon as that thought settled, another question popped up in his mind.
"Then... what did I just create?"
He raised his arm again, feeling the strange mix of cold and hot temperatures inside of it.
It felt... different, but not in a bad way.
He narrowed his eyes.
"Did the phoenix and undead mana actually accept each other?"
That shouldn’t have been possible. The elements always fought for dominance, the only exception being within his core.
He slowly lowered his arm, wondering if he should just cut it off and try again.
"I need to be careful with this."
Whatever happened, it wasn’t simple. Before he did something stupid with it, he needed to closely inspect it.
’It could be a good thing.’
Letting out a sigh, Logan pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Why do I always do things like this on impulse?"
He had just thought it would cost less mana and be easier than using only his fire affinity. He didn’t expect some weird fusion to happen.
"Whatever," he muttered, shaking his head. "I’ll deal with this for now."
It had already been twenty minutes since he told Silas and Edric he’d be back right after changing clothes. And Silas had been waiting outside the whole time to walk him to the meeting room.
Logan threw on a black suit over his shirt, adjusting the collar as he headed for the door.
He rolled his shoulder slowly, still trying to get used to the strange sensation in his new arm.
The moment he opened the door, Silas stood up from a nearby bench with his arms crossed and a raised eyebrow.
"Sorry about that," Logan said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Got distracted by something."
Silas glanced at his new arm, a faint smile growing on his lips.
"Come on," he said, nodding down the hall. "Knowing Edric, the nerves are killing him right now."
Logan gave a nod, walking through the quiet corridors to the meeting room.
Nearing the meeting room, a calm feeling settled over Logan while a small grin spread over his face.
’Today will be a massive victory for us,’ he thought. ’The Alvarez family will lose a lot of credibility because of this incident.’
The moment the doors to the meeting room opened, Edric spun around.
"There you are," he said, relief and stress visible on his face. "The live broadcasters from ManaScope are getting increasingly impatient."
Logan stepped inside the room, eyes scanning the hologram behind Edric.
It displayed a livestream from ManaScope, one of the most popular news networks with tens of thousands already waiting.
Unlike most outlets, ManaScope concentrated on conflicts from businesses, organizations, and mercenaries.
They were known for staying neutral, always chasing the biggest headlines and most views.
"Alright," Logan said, sitting down. "You can send the file to them now."
Edric glanced at Logan, giving a small nod as he typed something on his hologram.
It didn’t take long before the hosts started hyping up the audience, announcing they’d just received the file.
’The best part? They open it live on stream so no one can edit the evidence,’ Logan thought, smirking as he stared at the hologram.
They watched in silence as the news hosts opened the file and discussed each topic, sharing their opinions and views on the entire matter.
"Are you fine with scheduling a press conference tomorrow?" Edric asked, already moving to the next topic.
Logan gave a nod, eyes no longer focused on the screen.
"Also," Edric added, glancing at him, "ManaScope asked if you’d be willing to give a short live statement."
"They always ask that?" Logan wondered, raising an eyebrow.
"They said it would show transparency. Personally, I think they just want a reaction shot," Edric replied dryly. "I told them we’d consider it."
Logan fell into deep thought, contemplating the benefits and the possible risks.
If he didn’t respond here, the Alvarez family could try to sow doubt around his evidence, which would ruin his plan.
’I could tell a sad story and get the public sentiment,’ he thought, creating a story in his mind. ’Could make myself look like a martyr.’
But then he shook his head slightly.
’Too cheap. Anyone can play the victim.’
He didn’t want to farm pity. He needed something that carried weight, something that showed professionalism and the stability of the company.
’One controlled statement should be good enough,’ he thought, eyes firm.
Leaning back in his chair, he gave a small nod to Edric.
"Fine," Logan said calmly. "Put me on. Just give me a few seconds to prepare myself."
Edric blinked, surprised. "Got something in mind?"
Logan gave a faint smile. "Yeah."
He stood up, adjusting his suit, and walked towards the camera setup at the back of the room. The red light on top of it blinked slowly, indicating he still wasn’t being sent out.
A few seconds later, the room around Logan shifted, the holograms syncing him into the ManaScope broadcast.
The studio scene from earlier materialized in front of him, followed by several life-sized hologram figures appearing in front of his eyes.
"Now, something we rarely see," one of the female hosts said, her voice crisp and excited.
"We’re joined live by Logan Mercer, heir to Mercer Industries," she continued with a professional smile. "Thank you for agreeing to speak with us today, Mr. Mercer."
The blinking light on the recorder turned solid.
He was live, with tens of thousands waiting for his every word.
