86  Chapter 86: Evening Dress, Let Me Help You Change

Bao Jingyan smiled.

For a moment, Su Ruanruan took the initiative to say, "Who could ever tolerate your fickle moods?"

Bao Jingyan stayed silent, simply gazing at her intently.

That look was both gentle and sharp, as if it could penetrate her soul.

Su Ruanruan felt uneasy under his stare, shifting her body down to leave.

He held her down, "Don't go, I owe you an apology."

Before she could respond, he pulled her onto his lap and carefully undid two of her buttons.

Her delicate neck was covered in the messy red marks he had left.

Looking at them, Bao Jingyan frowned with concern, "Why didn't you slap me at the time?"

Furious, Su Ruanruan raised her hand to strike.

He caught her little hand, his dark eyes amused, "You're actually going to hit me!"

She awkwardly turned her head away, unwilling to look at him.

Bao Jingyan's heart stirred with desire to do more, but he held back, concerned about her bashfulness.

If he did something now, she would likely cause a fuss with him later.

Calmly, he began speaking in a more pleasant and gentle manner, "Today my father called me and said he wants to reconcile you and Gu Ze."

Su Ruanruan was surprised.

Bao Jingyan patted her little face, "What, found a new support and think you can escape me?"

Su Ruanruan remained silent.

But Bao Jingyan began to laugh, "Dare to run and I'll break your legs."

Su Ruanruan huddled to one side.

Bao Jingyan glanced at her, "Won't you say something? Like how Bao Ziqi is confused about his feelings for you!"

This was something Su Ruanruan couldn't refute.

It took her a while to reply softly, "I've been avoiding him enough."

Bao Jingyan casually picked up the cigarette case beside him, pulled out a cigarette, and lit it between his lips.

As the smoke began to rise, he squinted his eyes and suddenly said, "Maybe once he marries your elder sister, he'll stop having such wishful thoughts."

This time, Su Ruanruan didn't object.

She too was afraid of Bao Ziqi's entanglements.

Bao Jingyan scrutinized her further.

After a while, he put out his cigarette and patted her little face again, "Still angry?"

The atmosphere grew whimsically intricate.

Yet Su Ruanruan was still not prepared to forgive him.

Seeing her ignore him, Bao Jingyan chuckled, "Let's have dinner first; later, I have a gift for you."

"I don't want it."

However, it was not for her to decide. After dinner, Bao Jingyan carried her back upstairs.

The household servants had long since gotten used to it.

Su Ruanruan was embarrassingly shy, and once upstairs, she scolded him sternly, "Don't do that in front of others."

"Like what?" He bent down and trapped her beneath him.

Su Ruanruan got furious, "They can see!"

"They hear much more," Bao Jingyan responded inappropriately.

Su Ruanruan was so irritated her eyes reddened again.

Bao Jingyan gently stroked her eye corners, his voice husky, "Why are your eyes red again, just like a little rabbit?"

He reached over and picked up a rather large gift box from beside the bed.

Su Ruanruan grew curious, "What is it?"

"Open it and see," he encouraged.

Su Ruanruan bit her lip, but ultimately she couldn't resist her curiosity and opened the box.

Inside the exquisitely wrapped box was an evening dress.

Pure white, off-shoulder, with a slight reveal at the back yet connected by strands of pearls to the soft fabric.

Expertly crafted, it looked luxurious.

"It's so beautiful." Su Ruanruan couldn't put it down.

Bao Jingyan's voice grew hoarse, "Try it on."

Su Ruanruan asked him to leave.

But Bao Jingyan held her waist with one hand as he began to undress her with the other.

All the while, he said with feigned seriousness, "Let me help you change, hmm?"

Unable to resist him, her whole body trembled in his embrace.
