CHAPTER 151: CHAPTER 146: HOW DOES THAT PERSON TREAT YOU? (SECOND UPDATE)
"You’re absolutely right, I really am ugly!" Tong Airui chuckled, wrapping an arm around Yi Luowa’s waist as he turned to look at Yuan Hang.
Yuan Hang got the hint and signaled his two subordinates to take Huo Li and Jast’s suitcases.
"An ugly guy who still dares to eye our family’s Zhu Bao!" Huo Li snorted disapprovingly.
"He’s just teasing you." Yi Luowa tugged at her hand, "Hungry? Let’s eat first."
Huo Li tilted her head toward Jast, "Come on, we can’t let him off the hook so easily!"
Jast laughed and nodded.
Watching them about to leave, Yi Luowa pouted unhappily, "You’re not even going to greet him?"
Huo Li shot her a sidelong glance, "How would we know who he is? You only said he’s your fourth brother, not ours!"
"Oh, so it’s my fault?" Yi Luowa pursed her lips, "His name’s Tong Airui. Got it this time?"
"Mr. Tong, nice to meet you!" Jast politely extended his hand.
"Hello." Tong Airui shook his hand unemotionally, aided by the mask covering his face—without it, his stern expression might have scared everyone off.
He remained watchful of any male creatures near his wife, especially this one; he hated the way Jast looked at Luowa!
"Mr. Tong? From Z-country?" Huo Li extended her hand but withdrew it before Tong Airui could shake it.
Tong Airui glanced at his own hand before smiling and saying, "Quarter Z-country. Please, go ahead."
Yi Luowa shot a disapproving look at Huo Li and warned softly, "Be rude again, and I’ll stop talking to you!"
Huo Li blinked her blue eyes and leaned close to Yi Luowa’s face, "This is already me being nice! Just wait and see how I deal with you!"
Yi Luowa raised her hand and pushed her face away, "Deal with me? Only if you can beat me first!"
Tong Airui chuckled and pulled Yi Luowa into his arms, "Your friends must be exhausted from such a long flight. Let’s get in the car first—talk later."
"Alright." Yi Luowa smiled and nodded.
As the group left the airport terminal, Yi Luowa held Huo Li’s arm and said to Tong Airui, "Fourth brother, Huo Li and I will take the car behind. Can you and Jast take the front car instead?"
Tong Airui paused for a moment before nodding.
In the car, after Yi Luowa and Huo Li sat down, Huo Li pulled down Yi Luowa’s mask and inspected her face. Not seeing any injuries, she finally let out a sigh of relief, "I thought you’d been beaten so badly you couldn’t show your face."
"Who dares to lay a hand on me?" Yi Luowa grinned, "Did Auntie know you came here?"
"My dad knew; he was the one who helped me get my passport," Huo Li said. Glancing at the car in front, she whispered, "How’s that guy treating you?"
"He’s great." Yi Luowa’s face instantly lit up with a blissful smile.
"You’re grinning like a lovestruck kitten! I haven’t contacted you for just a few days, and you’ve already run off here?"
"It’s a long story! I’ll tell you someday when I have the time. Huo Li, how long can you stay here?"
"Only four or five days. Want to come back with us?"
Yi Luowa pressed her lips together, "Huo Li, there’s been some trouble at home. I probably won’t go back to France, but I’ll visit you whenever I can."
Huo Li’s eyes widened in shock, "Why?"
Yi Luowa raised her hand and pinched her eyelid, laughing, "The story is too long—it’d take days and nights to tell. So, I’m not wasting valuable time on that right now. Maybe I’ll write you a book someday."
"Are you trying to drive me mad!" Huo Li slapped her hand away angrily, "You’re staying in Z-country? What about your second uncle?"
"Once my second uncle recovers, we’re heading to Xiawu."
"Your second uncle got hurt?!"
Yi Luowa nodded, "Our car crashed. I got injured too. But luckily, we’re both still alive."
"Why didn’t you tell me?!" Huo Li held her hand, concerned. "How badly are you hurt?"
"My leg and forehead. But the scar on my forehead is barely visible now." Yi Luowa lifted her bangs to show Huo Li.
Huo Li examined carefully, "Even though it’s not scabbed, the skin color is still different from the rest."
"It’ll heal in a few days."
Huo Li tugged at her pant leg, "Which leg is hurt?"
"This one." Yi Luowa rolled up her pants. "It’s more serious—there’s still scarring."
"Thank goodness you didn’t meet your maker, or I’d be bawling my eyes out," Huo Li rubbed her forehead. "Only a few days apart, and you’ve gone through so much. You should’ve told me about your injuries immediately!"
"After I got hurt, things happened one after another, and I had to deal with them step by step. There really was no time to call you. If it weren’t for Fourth Brother helping me, I don’t know what state I’d be in."
"He helped you? Are good people so common nowadays? Let me guess—he caused all the trouble, then pretended to help you fix it, only to trick you in the end!"
Though the two spoke in French, the men sitting in the car ahead understood. Hearing the young foreign girl spew slander about him made them turn back to glare at her disapprovingly.
