CHAPTER 157: CHAPTER 152: I’LL COME TO ACCOMPANY YOU AFTER I SOOTHE HER TO SLEEP (PART 2)

"Wifey, I’ve figured it out. I’m doomed to be sleepless tonight." Tong Airui pulled her hand with a miserable look.

Yi Luowa hooked his neck, tipped her toes, and whispered in his ear, "That pig sleeps deeper than me. Once I coax her to sleep, I’ll come accompany you."

Tong Airui looked at her in surprise, "You promise me?"

"Why would I lie to you!" Yi Luowa pouted, "I’ll head back now. You go to bed early and rest."

Such a considerate little wife moved Fourth Master to near tears. After Yi Luowa left, he went to shower first. Then he opened his laptop to tackle the work piled up over the past few days.

It was already midnight, and Tong Airui stood at the door listening to the sounds from the neighboring hospital room.

Yuan Hang came over and whispered, "Still awake."

Tong Airui frowned slightly, raised his hand, and lightly knocked on the door, "Luowa, you’ve got to wake up early tomorrow. Go to sleep soon."

"Got it." Yi Luowa raised her hand and turned off the lamp.

Tong Airui helplessly shook his head and went back to his room. Before long, Yuan Hang pushed the door open and came in, "Master, she’s chatting again. You really shouldn’t wait up."

"So annoying!" Tong Airui furrowed his brows and stood up, "Tomorrow, make sure they’re taken somewhere far away to play. Ideally a place they can’t come back from."

"Send them to prison. That’s a place you don’t come back from." Yuan Hang chuckled.

"Then find a reason to detain them for a few days."

The master and servant exchanged a glance and burst out laughing.

"Master, go to sleep."

"I’ll sleep in a bit. How’s the background check on those two coming along?"

"Huo Li is clean, a rich girl; she’s been playing with the young madam since elementary school. Jast’s background before he turned eighteen is blank; we could only trace files starting from his university years."

"Blank?" Tong Airui smirked with meaning, "People always leave traces while they live. Keep digging, something will turn up."

"Understood." Yuan Hang exited the room.

Tong Airui paced around for a bit, reluctantly got into bed, and kept tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Staring at the ceiling absentmindedly, he thought, if it’s like this now, how will he manage when out on missions later?

His thoughts drifted back to when they used to mock their dad for following their mom around everywhere. Now it seemed like they’d misunderstood—being separated from someone close really did make sleep unattainable.

He glanced at his phone; it was already two o’clock. That little girl wouldn’t have lulled herself to sleep, would she?

Fourth Master threw off the blanket, got out of bed, and walked out the door.

Silence reigned!

Tong Airui tried pushing the door. To his astonishment, it opened.

Yi Luowa was standing at the door, covering her mouth as she pushed him back out.

"I thought you were already asleep." Tong Airui smiled and rubbed her head.

"I actually did fall asleep but got kicked off the bed by Huo Li." Yi Luowa grimaced as she rubbed her backside, "Good thing I wasn’t kicked hard enough to bleed rivers."

"She’s quite restless when sleeping?" Tong Airui wrapped his arm around her shoulders, guiding her back to his hospital room.

"Even rowdier than me. Once when she stayed over at our place, I couldn’t find her the next morning. If she hadn’t crawled out from under the bed herself, I would’ve called the police."

Tong Airui shook his head helplessly, "Did you hurt yourself? Let me rub it for you."

"Not hurt anywhere. Go to sleep, I’m already tired." Yi Luowa covered her mouth, letting out a yawn.

Tong Airui lifted the blanket, waited for her to climb in, then followed suit.

"What could you possibly have been talking about with her for so long? You’ve never spoken this much with me."

"Huo Li and I have a friendship of over ten years. Of course, we’d have plenty to talk about. As for you, we’ve only just known each other for a few days." Yi Luowa was so sleepy that she could barely keep her eyes open, yet she still consciously turned sideways.

As soon as she switched positions, Tong Airui cuddled up to her, tightly holding her in his arms, "She may have been with you for those ten years, but the one who’ll accompany you for the rest of your life is me."

"Mm, got it." Yi Luowa replied perfunctorily before falling sound asleep.

With a beauty in his arms, Tong Airui finally felt content and closed his eyes in peace.

Early the next morning, Tong Airui and Yi Luowa were woken up by Huo Li’s loud voice.

"Excuse me, has anyone seen Yi Luowa?" Huo Li stopped everyone to ask loudly from outside.

Yi Luowa rubbed her eyes and looked around, "How did I sleepwalk into your bed?"

Tong Airui chuckled, "Who knows? You climbed right into my blanket as soon as you came in."

Yi Luowa shoved his face away, "I’m just saying, yet you’re acting all smug. I haven’t lost my memory, you know!"

Tong Airui laughed and leaned in again, lightly biting her ear, "Want me to deal with that pig outside for you?"

"You’re not allowed to call her a pig; only I can!" Yi Luowa sat up and casually twisted the hair scattered over her shoulders into a bun, "I’ll go deal with her, or she might go crazy. Oh, by the way, call the hotel and arrange breakfast for my senior."

Tong Airui’s eyes darkened slightly, "No need to call the hotel. They’ll have already handled it."

"That’s perfect. I won’t have to trouble you then." Yi Luowa threw off the blanket and got out of bed, suddenly feeling a chill at her back. She sharply turned to look at Tong Airui.

Tong Airui quickly restrained his chilling aura and squinted slightly, "What?"

"Mua~" Yi Luowa leaned down to kiss his thin lips, "Just that. Haha..."
