CHAPTER 159: CHAPTER 154: DEATH WITHOUT EVIDENCE (SECOND UPDATE)

It seemed everyone was worrying too early. After breakfast, they still didn’t see anyone from the police station. Tong Airui was puzzled and made a call to Ning Mingxi. Only after asking did he learn that someone had already confessed to the matter, the mastermind being a group called HW from the Delta.

Yi Luowa looked at Yi Weiyang suspiciously, "Second Uncle, does the Yi family still do business with the Delta?"

Yi Weiyang shook his head, "I haven’t been involved in the affairs of the Yi Group for so many years, so I truly don’t know what kind of grudges they might have. But since they’ve admitted to it, there must be something to it.

Tong Airui said in a deep voice, "The HW organization has already explained why they wanted to kill Xi Meichen and Bai Bowen."

"Why?" Yi Luowa asked, furrowing her brow.

Tong Airui raised a hand to smooth out her furrowed brow, "Apparently, Xi Meichen and Bai Bowen cheated them out of money. Now that they’re dead, there’s no way to verify it."

Juster faintly curled the corners of his lips.

However, this small gesture did not escape Tong Airui’s sharp eyes. Tong Airui glanced at him and continued, "No matter who did it, this matter can basically be considered concluded. Second Uncle, focus on recovering, don’t think too much. After all, the ones who died weren’t good people."

Though Yi Weiyang kept nodding vigorously, everyone could still tell that he was somewhat agitated.

Yi Luowa held his hand tightly, "Second Uncle, this case is just waiting for judgment. They only died a few days early. With this outcome, you can give Grandfather and Third Uncle an explanation. We must maintain composure and not get overly emotional."

"Mm-hm, not emotional! After the press conference, you’ll accompany Second Uncle to visit your Grandfather and Third Uncle’s graves," Yi Weiyang said as he gently held Yi Luowa’s hand in return.

Yi Luowa nodded strongly. In this world, her Second Uncle only had her left as family. No matter what he wanted to do, she would always stay by his side.

Once Yi Weiyang’s emotions were stable, Tong Airui instructed Yuan Hang to arrange for Huo Li and Juster to go out and have some fun.

Huo Li shook her head repeatedly, "Something this serious has happened, I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying here with Luowa."

Yi Luowa smiled faintly, "You know my personality. I don’t need you to stay with me. You rarely get the chance to come here—go out and enjoy yourself. If I weren’t injured, I’d be going out with you."

"I know you. When there are people around, you’ll force a smile; but when you’re alone, you cry secretly. I’m staying with you." Huo Li frowned and glanced at Juster, "Senior, sorry, looks like you’ll have to go out on your own."

Juster smiled warmly, "Let’s all stay together; I won’t go either."

Yi Luowa looked at the two of them, chuckling, "Don’t be like this. I don’t cry; when I’m alone, I secretly want to laugh, actually."

After much persuasion, Yi Luowa finally convinced them to leave. Once she stepped out of Yi Weiyang’s hospital room, she said to Aunt Li, "Aunt Li, please notify our people to keep a close watch on this floor. I’m worried someone might try to cause trouble."

Aunt Li nodded in agreement.

Tong Airui watched her and smiled, "With me here, you don’t need to worry about those things."

Yi Luowa shook her head, "I can’t depend on you for everything. If this keeps up, I’ll practically become incapable of handling things myself."

"Master, the Duke and Aunt have arrived; they’re already in the elevator," Yuan Hang said as he hurried over.

Tong Airui paused, "Why didn’t anyone say anything?"

"Let’s go meet them." Yi Luowa pulled him toward the elevator.

Tong Airui furrowed his brow slightly and whispered, "My dad, that kind of person... if he comes here and doesn’t visit Second Uncle, I’m afraid Second Uncle will take it to heart."

Yi Luowa casually smiled, "Don’t overthink it—I know my Second Uncle won’t be that petty."

"What about you? Would you be upset?" Tong Airui asked as he looked at her.

Yi Luowa pouted, "I might feel a little bothered, but I’d get over it quickly."

Tong Airui smiled and ruffled her hair, "I was teasing you. My mom is coming—she definitely won’t let Dad do anything discourteous."

"It’s good to give me a little advance warning; otherwise, I might show everything on my face and that would be embarrassing." Yi Luowa watched the numbers on the elevator climb. "Fourth Brother, actually, I have tons of faults. When you notice them all, will you hate me?"

"No, nobody’s perfect. I have faults too. In the future, we’ll keep an eye on each other and slowly fix the bad things together. That’s how life is done. My dad and mom have lived their whole lives that way."

"A good family is like a great school; parents are the best teachers for their children. You’re luckier than me—you have such amazing parents."

"They’re your parents too, and you’ll definitely be happy in the future," Tong Airui said with a smile. Seeing the elevator reach the ninth floor, he took a step back along with Yi Luowa.

Yi Luowa smiled warmly when she saw Long Che holding Tong Yao’s hand as they walked out. She greeted them cheerfully.

Tong Yao beamed at her, "We thought of giving you a surprise, but you figured it out first anyway."

"Mom, this isn’t a surprise, it’s a shock," Tong Airui joked, "Where are we heading first? I’ll go with you."

Long Che glanced at him, "That incident at the jail wasn’t your doing, was it?"
