CHAPTER 161: CHAPTER 156: LET THE TWO OF THEM DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES? (SECOND UPDATE)

"Let them decide for themselves?" Long Che raised an eyebrow slightly.

Tong Yao smiled and nodded.

Tong Airui also smiled and responded affirmatively.

Long Che cast a deep look at his son, thinking to himself, "This spineless guy, always listens to his wife!" He conveniently forgot how he himself always yields to his own wife.

After sitting for a bit longer, Long Che and Tong Yao took Tong Airui and Yi Luowa to Jimo Chen’s place. Leng Yuxiao, Leng Ziye, along with Yueyue and Xiaoyudian, had also just arrived.

Jimo Chen was already awake. Looking around at the crowd in the room, he smiled and grabbed Leng Yuxiao’s hand. "I kept my promise to you; I made it happen. When King Yan came to take me away, I told him I still wanted to spend a few more years with my old lady, and he let me come back."

Leng Yuxiao glared at him irritably, "Did you come back by your own choice? If it weren’t for Zekai’s superb medical skills, you would’ve abandoned me and left long ago."

The whole room broke into laughter.

Duoduo turned his head and immediately spotted Yi Luowa, stretched out his little arms, and started babbling joyfully.

Yi Luowa smiled and took Duoduo from Monica’s arms.

Jimo Chen looked at Yi Luowa and asked with a grin, "Such a pretty little girl, whose kid is she?"

"Uncle Jimo, she’s my wife, Luowa," Tong Airui said with a laugh.

Yi Luowa hurriedly greeted Jimo Chen.

"Good! Good! A golden couple!" Jimo Chen said, turning toward his granddaughter. "Shanshan, isn’t it about time you picked up the pace? Look at Rui’er, his wife’s younger than you."

Jimo Shanshan lazily raised her eyes to her grandfather, "I’m not in a hurry."

Jimo Chen shook his head helplessly. "It used to be ’Xiangxiang,’ which was nice. Whose bright idea was it to change her name to ’Shanshan’? Ever since it changed, she’s been slow about everything—always giving people the impression that she’s late to the party every single time."

"It’s fine; kids like her are always lucky," Tong Yao said with a laugh, glancing at Mai Zekai. These two really have some similarities.

Mai Zekai, feeling awkward under his aunt’s gaze, made up an excuse about being busy and quickly left the hospital room.

Jimo Chen glanced at his son, and Jimo Yixuan smiled and nodded. It seemed the father and son had reached an agreement on some issue.

After a while, Duoduo got a bit impatient, fussing to go outside. Yi Luowa and Tong Airui took him out of the room.

As Yi Luowa left, Leng Ziye opened his mouth, "Your Rui’er certainly has good taste, finding such a beautiful and sweet girlfriend."

"He’s alright," Long Che responded haughtily, giving him a side glance.

"Talk about being full of yourself!" Leng Ziye snorted, then turned to Tong Yao. "Yaoyao, I need a favor from you."

Tong Yao chuckled, "General Leng asking me for help?"

Leng Ziye smiled, "My brother-in-law and Mo Bao (Jimo Yixuan’s nickname) have taken a liking to Zekai. They want Zekai to be their son-in-law. Since you and Zekai’s mom are practically like sisters, can you put in a good word for us?"

Tong Yao’s eyes lit up at the suggestion. She grinned and glanced at Jimo Shanshan, "Your family only has Shanshan left as a daughter, and the two are both in the medical field, sharing common ground. Seems like a good match."

Jimo Shanshan quickly shot Tong Yao a look, "I...uh...have a patient to attend to. Gotta go!"

With that, she darted out the door in a flash. Tong Yao burst out laughing, "Who says she’s slow? She seemed pretty quick just now!"

Monica chuckled, "She’s a match for our Number Seven. Whenever he has patients, he runs faster than anyone, but when he doesn’t, he won’t budge even to give one shot of medicine."

"I’ll call Xixi later. She’d definitely approve of such a great kid," Tong Yao smiled. "Kids grow up in the blink of an eye; they’re now at the stage of getting married and starting families. It’s a reminder of how old we’re getting."

"That’s for sure," Yueyue sighed. "Where has my youth gone?"

Leng Ziye affectionately patted her head, "Your youth was wasted on me. In the next life, I’ll make it up to you."

Long Che curled his lips, "Make it up? You’re just trying to lock Yueyue down for the next life, aren’t you?"

Everyone chatted and laughed, as if they’d gone back to their younger days.

Yi Luowa and Tong Airui wandered about the hallway with Duoduo, hearing the laughter that echoed from the hospital room. Yi Luowa smiled lightly, "I thought these big shots would be all serious and intense like on TV. Didn’t expect their conversations to be so lively."

"You’ll meet more so-called ’big shots’ in the future. You’ll see their real personalities. Honestly, they’re just people—they have emotions too. And when they let loose, they’re crazier than regular folks," Tong Airui said as he playfully pinched Duoduo’s little cheek.

"Hit him..." Duoduo bounced in Yi Luowa’s arms, demanding to strike Tong Airui.

Yi Luowa laughed and swatted Tong Airui lightly, "Alright, Auntie will hit him for you."

"Haha..." Duoduo beamed with satisfaction, giggling happily.

Yi Luowa shook her hand with a grin, "No wonder my hand hurts—it seems I’ve casually hit a big shot."

"Does it hurt? Let me rub it for you," Tong Airui said nervously, grabbing her hand and blowing on it.

Yuan Hang walked over and saw the two displaying their affection. Hesitating for a moment, he stopped walking.

Tong Airui glanced at him. "If you’ve got something to say, just say it."
