CHAPTER 165: CHAPTER 160: COMPREHEND BY ONESELF! (FOUR MORE)

"What good fortune?" Tong Airui asked with a laugh.

"Figure it out yourself!" Seeing Duoduo about to approach Yi Luowa again, Little Raindrop quickly shifted him to the other side, holding him there.

Tong Yao smiled and, together with Long Che, stepped out the door first.

Tong Airui noticed Yi Luowa was about to leave too and grabbed her arm urgently. "What does my sister mean by that?"

Yi Luowa’s face instantly turned red. "She’s speaking nonsense!"

Seeing her blush, Tong Airui finally understood the meaning behind his sister’s words. "Did my sister see something when you were changing clothes? Are you serious?! It’s stuff from our house—I haven’t even seen it myself, and you let an outsider see it first?"

"What are you talking about!" Yi Luowa kicked him lightly. "Are we leaving or not?"

"We’re leaving!" Tong Airui, clearly unsettled that he hadn’t seen something his sister had, looked displeased.

Yi Luowa noticed his sour expression and pouted. "What’s wrong with you now?"

"I feel bothered. You’re going to have to comfort my poor wounded soul tonight," Tong Airui said dramatically, even lifting his hand to rub his heart for effect.

Yi Luowa’s lips twitched. "A ’poor wounded soul,’ really?"

The two exchanged a glance and smiled, stepping out the door to join the others in heading downstairs.

Cars rolled up one by one. Tong Airui caught sight of two subordinates stuffing someone into a car not far away, his face darkening slightly as he got into his own vehicle.

"What on earth are you doing?" Tong Airui asked irritably once inside.

Yuan Hang glanced at the rearview mirror and exhaled deeply. "I gave instructions, but she still wouldn’t leave and kept lingering outside. I ordered them not to escalate things and to ignore her, but who knew she’d start acting out again."

"Take her to the funeral home, have someone keep an eye on her. When we leave, then pull back the people watching her."

Yuan Hang acknowledged the request and, using Bluetooth, relayed Fourth Master’s orders.

Yi Luowa stayed silent beside him, feeling a bit guilty. Over the past while, Tong Airui had devoted all his energy to the mess in her family. Thinking back, she now realized his suggestion for them to move was entirely the right call.

During lunch, Yi Luowa ate very little, largely because she felt uncomfortable eating with so many big shots around the table.

Tong Airui noticed her mood and left the restaurant with her early. As soon as they got in the car, Fourth Master leaned over. "What do you want to eat? Just the two of us."

"Not eating, I’m full." Yi Luowa turned her head to look at him. "Fourth Brother, you’ve been so preoccupied with my family’s affairs every day—aren’t you fed up with it?"

"Your problems are my problems. Why would I get fed up?" Tong Airui chuckled as he pinched her nose lightly. "Don’t overthink things. Once we move to Xiawu, everything will be fine. Here, I can’t go all out, especially with the situation between Yi Lingfei and Yi Shaoqing. Your second uncle’s too soft-hearted, and your attitude is ambiguous, so I can’t bring myself to act too decisively."

"Me, ambiguous?" Yi Luowa pursed her lips, unwilling to admit he hit the nail on the head.

Tong Airui laughed from exasperation. "Can you just tell me why you can’t bring yourself to cut them off completely?"

Yi Luowa scratched her head and gave an awkward laugh. "I don’t know either. When they make me angry, I can be resolute, but as soon as I turn around, I forget everything. Especially when I see them looking pitiful—it gets even harder for me to stay firm."

"Hmm—I know the reason now." Tong Airui deliberately dragged out his words.

Yi Luowa blinked her dark, sparkling eyes. "Tell me, then. Let’s see if I can change."

Tong Airui shook his head. "You can’t change, because you’re born in the Year of the Pig—you only remember the good stuff and forget the bad! Hahaha..."

Yi Luowa puffed up her cheeks indignantly. "You’re the pig!"

"Hahaha..." Tong Airui laughed as he ruffled her hair. "Alright, alright, I won’t tease you anymore. After some analysis, I think the main reason you can’t harden your heart is because of Yi Shaoqing. He hasn’t hurt you, and before he hit me with that stick, he was pretty decent to you. He’s a little weak, and Yi Lingfei is his only family left in this world. You worry that if something happens to Yi Lingfei, Yi Shaoqing will be completely ruined. Am I right?"

Yi Luowa thought for a moment. "What you said seems kind of true. But the bigger issue lies in my personality—I’m used to being carefree, and my memory’s terrible. Once things pass, I forget everything."

"It’s not that your memory’s bad, it’s that you’re too kind-hearted. From now on, I’ll handle the bad stuff for our family—you focus on living happily and carefree."

Yi Luowa smiled sweetly. "Fourth Brother..."

"You’re amazing~" Yuan Hang chimed in from the front with a mockingly sweet tone, making Yi Luowa burst out laughing.

Tong Airui sharply kicked the back of the front seat in annoyance. "If you keep talking, I’ll serve your tongue as dinner tonight."

Yuan Hang instantly straightened up. "Sir, I promise I won’t say another word!"

"Stop at that dessert shop up ahead!" Tong Airui took Yi Luowa’s hand and asked, "Which dessert do you like? I’ll have Yuan Hang go buy it for you."

"There’s still some dessert made by Aunty in the hospital; I don’t need any more." Yi Luowa happily rested her head against his shoulder. "I used to imagine all kinds of versions of my future boyfriend, but I never thought I’d end up with someone like you."

"I’m not your type?" Tong Airui gave her a dissatisfied glance.
