CHAPTER 623: CHAPTER 532: YOU ARE NOT A CHILD WITHOUT PARENTS! (PART 2)_2
"Ba ba ba ba..."
"Ba ba ba ba..."
Zi Yan said it once, and Sang Yu followed and repeated it once.
At this point, the whole family gathered around.
"That sounded so clear, they’re definitely calling ’Dad’!"
"Both of them can call out now. Imagine how happy Tong Airui would be if he heard this!"
"Get them to say it a few more times, let’s record it for Tong Airui."
Danton laughed and said while holding his phone, "I already recorded those earlier calls."
Mai Zekai looked at his son’s tiny hand enviously, "Your younger siblings can call Dad now. How about you give it a try too?"
"Da da!" Pengpeng grumbled impatiently.
"Haha... Right, let’s just da-da him! Serves him right for cheating earlier!" Mi Chenxuan still hadn’t forgotten about the incident that afternoon.
"Da da!" Pengpeng, sitting in his grandmother’s lap, gave his uncle a stubborn little look.
"You little rascal, try punching me. If you dare punch me, I’ll punch your mom!" Mi Chenxuan teased as he leaned closer.
"Da da da da da..." Pengpeng rattled off a string of "da da"s.
Mi Chenxuan chuckled and placed his hand on Jimo Shanshan’s shoulder, "Let’s go, how about we practice this somewhere else?"
Jimo Shanshan laughed as she swatted his hand away, "Not raising him right is on you as his father. If you’re going to find someone, find your seventh brother instead."
Pengpeng stared blankly at Mi Chenxuan for a moment. Seeing that he didn’t actually hit his mom, he lowered his head and continued playing with his toy.
"Kids these days are so clever. Honey, don’t you go giving me a little fool..."
Before Tong Aino could finish his words, Tong Yao raised her hand and gave him a slap, "Stop spouting nonsense!"
Tong Aino rubbed his head, "Are you really my mom? That slap was so hard!"
"If Mom doesn’t smack you, I feel like doing it myself. I’m pregnant right now, and you’re just rambling." Connie gave him a glare.
"Can I take it back?" Tong Aino looked pitifully at Connie.
Danton moved closer to Yi Luowa with a smile and said quietly, "Sis, I really like the atmosphere in your family. It’s so fun! Everyone’s always happy together, and I’ve never seen them truly argue."
"If you like it, stay a few extra days." Yi Luowa smiled and asked, "Did you try on the clothes I bought you? Do they fit?"
"I tried them on; they fit perfectly. I even took photos of every outfit and sent them to my mom. She was so happy when she found out you picked them, and said you have great taste! I told her that from now on, I’ll have my sis pick out all my clothes..."
"Ahem..." Youyou coughed lightly, "Danton, be a little careful. Luowa is my sister; don’t call her so intimately!"
Danton laughed and said, "I’m calling her sis! From now on, I’ll call Luowa my big sis and you my second sis!"
"How am I suddenly your second sis?!"
"Because you’re second-rate!" Mi Chenxuan joked with a laugh.
Youyou rolled her eyes at Mi Chenxuan and said to Danton, "Danton, from now on, just call him second brother-in-law!"
Danton laughed and nodded, "Okay, you two are a perfect pair of seconds!"
Haha... The room erupted in laughter.
The three little ones, because of all the people, still showed no signs of sleepiness even by 9 PM.
Yi Luowa and Tong Aino discussed whether they should set off fireworks earlier so the kids could see them too.
Tong Aino agreed immediately, calling for Danton to head out.
Danton made to leave without even putting on a coat, but Yi Luowa stopped him, "Your health isn’t great; put on more clothes before going out."
"Sis, the coat’s on the third floor..."
"I’ll get it for you." Yi Luowa ran upstairs quickly and came back down shortly with coats for both him and Tong Aino.
Once they put their coats on, not only were their bodies warm, but their hearts felt warm too.
Outside, fireworks soon lit up the sky. Everyone brought the three little ones to the balcony to watch.
Seeing the dazzling, colorful fireworks, the three little ones were so overjoyed they almost clapped their hands. It wasn’t until close to 10 PM that they started to feel drowsy. After putting the kids to bed, Yi Luowa thought the elders would finally turn in for the night as well. But it turned out, none of them had any intention of sleeping.
"Luowa, come play a game of chess. One against five." Tong Jiaqi smiled as he invited his granddaughter-in-law to a match.
"Alright." Yi Luowa smiled and sat down at the chessboard.
"Charles, you’ll be the player; we’ll all be your strategists." Tong Jiaqi laughed as he nudged Prince Charles into the seat across from her.
Once Prince Charles sat down, Yi Weiyang, Mi Xiaotian, and Mai Shenglun all crowded around, ready for a 1v5 match!
By midnight, Yi Luowa had won five games and tied one. The older gentlemen were so frustrated they started discussing whether to initiate another round, but the clock struck twelve.
Everyone quickly stood up and exchanged wishes of "Happy New Year!"
At 12:15, Long Che and Tong Airui walked in one after the other. Seeing everyone still awake, father and son exchanged smiles.
"Rui’er, everyone wants to witness this moment. Announce it already so we can all go rest afterward."
Tong Airui smiled and nodded.
Yi Luowa saw him walking toward her, and her heartbeat skipped for a moment. Was he going to announce what he’d been hiding from her these past two days?
Seeing everyone smiling at her, Yi Luowa finally understood. Everyone in the family already knew what Tong Airui was about to say—everyone except her.
Yi Luowa quickly connected the dots from the past two days, and her eyes welled up with tears.
"Husband... is it what I think it is?"
Tong Airui looked at her tenderly and gently patted her head, "Wife, what I want to tell you today is—you’re not a child without parents!"
Yi Luowa’s lips moved slightly, but when she opened her mouth, she was too emotional to make any sound.
"I’ll show you something." Tong Airui opened his briefcase and handed her a DNA report first.
Randy and Yi Luowa share a biological father-daughter relationship.
Xia Zhilan and Yi Luowa share a biological mother-daughter relationship.
Yi Luowa’s vision blurred from the tears falling onto the paper. She couldn’t read the words anymore.
She had finally found her biological parents! This happiness came so suddenly.
Danton, afraid that Yi Luowa wouldn’t know who the names belonged to, choked up as he said, "Sis, our father is Randy, and our mother is Xia Zhilan..."
"Silly! I know, I already know... Waaa..." Yi Luowa threw herself into her brother’s arms, and the two siblings wept together.
Seeing them cry, the others in the room couldn’t help but shed tears as well.
As the room filled with sniffles, Yi Luowa gently pushed Danton away and wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes.
"No more crying; this is good news. Let’s stop crying now."
Danton obediently nodded.
Yi Luowa looked apologetically at everyone, "Thank you, everyone! Thank you for giving me the most meaningful New Year’s gift! I’m so sorry for making you all spend New Year’s Eve crying with me."
As Yi Luowa spoke, she bowed deeply to everyone.
Tong Yao hurriedly helped her up, "Child, what’s all this? Stand up quickly. Our tears are tears of happiness; there’s no sadness in them. This New Year is meaningful not only for you but for our whole family!"
Tong Airui pressed his lips together and pulled Yi Luowa into his arms, "Wife, we’re all family. Acting like this makes everyone feel distant."
Yi Luowa nodded, "I won’t act formal with everyone anymore. But can you tell me, what’s the story with Nancy?"
"I knew you’d ask." Tong Airui chuckled and looked around, "Elders, no need to stay up anymore. Let’s head to our rooms so we can discuss this upstairs."
"Say it right here." Lady Jing Ya smiled, "We want to share in this joy with Luowa."
