CHAPTER 33: ERYTHROS

"Erythros!" Professor Arkham announced as the octahedron turned red.

"Alright!" Xenon muttered, walking back to his seat.

"Your turn, Aoi." Jeage said as Xenon took his seat and Aoi was called.

Aoi walked nervously to the runic octahedron to be sorted and almost fell backwards when it began to spin.

"Erythros!" Professor Arkham announced as the Fancy Dice shone red.

"Seems like Jason was right." Aoi said when he got back to his seat.

"Of course I am right." Jason replied as he walked off to the podium.

The octahedron turned red again after the red tip came to a stop at Jason, placing him also in Erythros.

"I guess you’ll have to put up with me for another 3 years huh." Jason said smiling to Xenon who just clicked his tongue.

"Rogue Dām!" The number 3, a black haired and scarlet eyed girl walked to the dice and a "Phryne!" Followed shortly after from Professor Arkham.

"Belladonna Grimaldi!" Fell into "Hifaruten!"

And the first years number one, Wonsebolatán Ogun was put into Puretanic after the runic octahedron turned bright blue.

The Fancy Dice ascended back into the hall’s roof, The old man -proprietor- said a few more words and Professor Arkham concluded the event, sending all students off to their dormitories, they have been given the day off.

"Erythros first years, this way!" A senior student shouted as the same was being done for all other houses.

"I guess this is where we split up Jeage." Xenon said to his cousin who had been sorted into a different house.

"You’re saying it like we’ll never see each other again, come on were still in the same academy! We’ll probably see each other everyday." Jeage replied.

"I guess... do you think I should apologise to the girl yesterday? We’re in the same house." Xenon asked.

"I don’t know, do whatever you like. But don’t do something stupid! See ya." Jeage walked away to meet his elder sister, Tamara, who is also in Puretanic.

"Let’s go, Xenon!" Aoi called out to him. Xenon joined Aoi and Jason as they followed the senior who led them to their dormitories.

"You and I are gonna be best of friends!" Jason muttered, grinning at Xenon.

"These are your rooms. The top ten gets one to themselves!" A second year student said to Aoi, Jason and Xenon pointing at three rooms that stood side by side. "The rooms will most likely be rearranged though, you guys can’t stay side by side, school policy."

"So, we’ll have to move out later?" Xenon asked.

"No... I forgot you’re first years!" The guy face palmed himself. "Each individual room -that belongs to one person or for one purpose- within Erythros’ tower can be moved from one place to another, I don’t know about other houses though." The boys mouthed an ’Oh’.

"So get comfortable and refer to your student bands or bracelet - as you prefer- before stepping our of your rooms, as you might have been moved to another part of the tower. Welcome to the academy, and have a nice day!" The student walked off.

"Well, see you guys later then." Aoi said as he walked towards one of the rooms.

"See ya!" Xenon picked one also and entered. "First thing I need is a bath!" And so he stripped.

"Who is it?" Xenon asked after the door to his room was knocked. He had just finished putting on a short grey trouser and white shirt when he heard the knock.

He went to the door and opened it when no one answered and standing there in front of the door was a large square box made of wood. It had two stubby arms that lay sagged on the floor and in some parts were runes that glowed slightly.

The arms on the floor retracted, making them short and rigid then were raised up before sagging onto the top of the box which was now open. The arms grabbed a wide but short wooden case, retracted and then stretched out towards Xenon.

Xenon grabbed the box immediately, worried the arms might sag and drop, thereby breaking the box. Immediately Xenon took the box, the arms of the large wooden box sagged unto the floor and the box began to move on wooden wheels, the arms trailing behind.

Xenon, carrying the small box, walked over to the large bed in the far end of the room to inspect the contents.

Carved in the box was a large ’A’ in which the was an eye where the empty space in the ’A’ was supposed to be, the bridge connecting the two touching lines of the ’A’ was made up of two arms where the palms were pressed against each other, and what seemed like ribbons was carved around the ’A’.

’This must be the academy’s insignia.’ Xenon said inwardly.

He grabbed the top half of the box and pulled it off to reveal the contents. There was a red, long sleeved shirt; a black, sleeveless jacket, a black suit jacket and trouser in one of the compartments within the box.

In another was a red cotton sweater, red scarf, red head warmer and 4 pairs of red and black socks and headbands each. In another one were one spare each of the shirt, jackets and trouser. And in a last small compartment were two bronze badges of the same insignia that was carved on the box and sewn into the pieces of clothing in the second compartment.

"I guess I was given a chance to attend a school in this world since I never attended one before," Xenon sighed, and grimaced when he remembered his sister who he left on earth.

He picked up the uniforms and arranged them in his cupboard, he took out the large bag of luggage he brought from the manor from his inventory and put the contents where they should be in his new room.

"Now, time to check what I got from beating that oaf. I can’t believe I almost thought he was related to Captain Rogers... but they do look alike though." Xenon pushed the matter to the back of his mind and checked the system’s notifications he had ignored.

"Great. I just have to beat Jason up about 30 times to reach level 20... not so bad." Xenon yawned and lay down on his bed before he remembered he was starving.

He sat upright immediately and grabbed 2 Mula from his stack of coins, put on the red sweater he just got and his student wristband. He walked out of the door and to his surprise, met both Jason and Aoi in front of his room.

"Was just gonna call you to grab some lunch." Aoi, who was also putting on a red sweater on long black trousers said.

"I was just going to get lunch myself." Xenon replied.

Jason took out a red head warmer from his brown shorts’ pocket, put it loosely over his head and brushed something away from his grey shirt.

"Let’s go then." They walked off together.

"Um... where was the cafeteria again?" Jason asked after they had taken a few steps away from their rooms.

"We can just check these." Aoi raised his left arm, pointing at the the black wristband which was strapped to his wrist.
