Bizarre Realm
Chapter 44 - 39: Graduation
CHAPTER 44: CHAPTER 39: GRADUATION
The last spell is a combat spell.
However, it is not the type of combat spell Shawn imagined, because its effect is indiscriminate, regardless of friend or foe.
——Blast Flame Technique (Tier Two)
The knowledge in Shawn’s brain completely analyzed this spell.
——"The caster summons a surge of chaotic flames, causing a fierce flame explosion centered on you, destroying everything within a diameter of six meters around you. All creatures and objects in that area will be impacted by the flame explosion."
The knowledge was a bit excited.
——"Casting element, a pinch of sulfur."
Unlike the previous spells, this one clearly requires casting materials.
"Sulfur?" Shawn frowned slightly.
This spell would wreak havoc on everyone in its range, except for himself.
There aren’t many spells in the Wizard Path that require materials; usually, it’s the more powerful spells that do. High Sequence wizards can substitute with other methods, but Shawn must rely on casting materials for now.
"This spell can be very effective if used well, but teammates might suffer." Shawn thought it over first.
A wizard can abandon some absorbed spells by letting the mysterious knowledge flow out of the brain to dissipate, but most people will not give up spells they have already mastered.
Shawn mused to himself, "At least it’s an offensive spell."
Hmm.
"Let me think carefully."
"I have the ’Invisibility’ spell, the ’Damage Transfer,’ and now a ’Blast Flame Technique’ that doesn’t discriminate friend from foe."
"A self-destructive wizard?"
This thought caused his heart to skip a beat.
But in any case, it finally formed a somewhat systematic combat strength.
"Go in invisible and unleash a big move?"
"Then how to escape?" Shawn still prioritized self-preservation and didn’t like self-destruction.
A month passed by.
The digestion speed of the last small stage of Extraordinary Essence was very slow, and according to Lady Hecate’s wishes, she didn’t want Shawn to advance too quickly; it was best to stabilize his strength in the current stage, and complete the unmastered Super Magic Techniques, accumulating as many spells as possible.
This is not only because the promotion of Tier Two wizards has certain risks, but more importantly, as one’s strength increases, the indescribable absurdity will also seek out Transcendents in the Wizard Path.
Transcendents drop relics when defeating monsters.
Similarly, monsters drop relics when defeating Transcendents.
This is the Bizarre Realm!
Shawn can’t always be under the shelter of Lady Hecate and the Butcher; when he returns to the real world later, he still has to find a way to have self-preservation ability.
The promotion of Transcendents is somewhat like a signal light.
From the soul level, it’s like a lit lamp in the pitch-black night, which will always attract many indescribable things in the dark; the higher the rank of the Transcendents, the more apparent the glow, and in unexpected encounters, it’s easier to attract bizarre creatures of the same tier.
In such a situation, you absolutely can’t be the soft one in the current tier.
The promotion paths of bizarre creatures are quite similar to those of humans, with the same Path of Myth, similar Promotion Sequences; they can devour, fuse, and digest, preferring to hunt seemingly formidable High Tier Transcendents.
The monsters here also like to pick on the soft ones.
Especially those who have just been promoted and have not yet digested the Extraordinary Essence; they possess a rich Extraordinary Essence but lack the powerful strength to match it, in the eyes of bizarre creatures, they are simply a piece of mouth-watering meat.
Therefore, many Transcendents will stay at the current Realm (Tier) to consolidate, and then make a breakthrough swiftly.
If Shawn advances to Tier Two Wizard, he will have a slight projection in the Spirit Realm.
"Strong strength is good because it attracts monsters."
"Weak strength spells doom."
Shawn decided to take the orthodox route, laying a solid foundation before seeking to advance without blindly pursuing higher sequences.
He has already been in the Bizarre Realm for quite some time.
During this period, it has been very calm; as the time for departure draws nearer, Shawn finds himself reluctant, especially towards Lady Hecate’s Maze Library.
But apprentices must eventually graduate.
In the Maze Library,
Lady Hecate frequently appears in the guise of a young girl; she glanced at Shawn and tapped the table, saying, "Today, we’ll discuss the structure of Evil Objects."
"Do you know octopuses?"
Shawn obediently nodded, "Yes."
Lady Hecate knocked on the blackboard, saying, "Then do you know an octopus has 3 hearts and 9 brains?"
Huh?
Shawn shook his head, "No."
Lady Hecate gently raised her hand, and silver-white runic lines began to converge and outline in mid-air, but the appearing pattern was not an octopus but a humanoid monster resembling an octopus, with tendrils extending out, lightly swaying, its cloudy dark yellow pupils full of coldness and madness.
"Be wary of those resembling octopuses, or have octopus traits which are Evil Objects."
Lady Hecate tapped the blackboard sternly, "Even if you’ve killed them, you can’t be careless!"
Shawn nodded seriously, "Got it, Teacher."
"I’ll remember it."
The day’s course ended quickly.
As Shawn walked out of the maze corridor, a pale yet beautiful Undead Beldam drifted over; she was named Katie, the Head Maid of Lady Hecate.
"The lady said, you don’t have to come tomorrow."
Katie was somewhat different from other Undead Beldams, but Shawn couldn’t quite tell where the difference lay, only vaguely felt it.
She watched Shawn in front of her and took out a peculiar staff, saying, "This is what the lady left for you."
A Curio, a Magic Staff.
Shawn silently reached out to take the staff, softly saying, "Thank the teacher for me."
Katie nodded, her figure dissipating in the maze.
——A Three-way Crossroad [Curio]?!
Knowledge told Shawn the name of this Curio, a somewhat strange name.
It wasn’t a combat Curio.
Although it’s not a High Tier Curio, with Shawn’s current mysterious knowledge, he couldn’t fully decipher its abilities.
——"It can guide the way."
Knowledge worked tirelessly.
——"It can point in three directions, one of good luck, one of bad luck, one of mediocrity."
Knowledge felt a bit overstrained.
——"It can be used for Divination, but requires prophetic capability."
Knowledge exhausted its possibilities.
——"It can mark the three-way crossroad of Destiny!"
Knowledge was roaring!
Knowledge was striving with all its might! Knowledge was fighting for its master!
A trickle of blood emerged.
Shawn wiped his nose, discovering he had a nosebleed, feeling slightly dizzy, yet knowledge still couldn’t fully decipher the Curio’s abilities, and now extremely fatigued, withdrew into the depths of Shawn’s mind.
The Butcher was still working.
As Shawn reached the door, he put down his heavy hook without turning around and said in a deep voice, "I’ll send you off tomorrow."
"Someone wants to meet you tonight."
Shawn asked with doubt, "Who?"
The Butcher hung the Pillar of Flesh and Blood on the hook, dully saying, "The Chief, the Holder of the Path of Death."
That Demigod Witch Demon?
Shawn’s expression froze, silently nodding.
Out of the Twelve Mythical Paths, the Path of Death has the most demigods.
"Oh, by the way." The Butcher casually said, "I prepared some gifts for you, they’re on the bookshelf, help yourself."
Shawn turned to look.
He saw a specially made silver flask, engraved with peculiar runes visible under Spiritual Vision, while to the naked eye it was just an exquisite flask.
——The Butcher’s Endless Wine [Curio]?!
Shawn didn’t often drink.
On touching this Curio, the flowing knowledge revealed the answer to him.
——"Dark Endless Wine, the fine brew of flesh and blood, drinking can instantly recover certain injuries but increase pollution. Be cautious, Master, it’s not meant for the living."
Knowledge whispered.
The Butcher’s heavy voice resonated, saying, "Use it in emergencies, don’t touch it normally."
"Drinking it all will result in intoxication."
High Tier Curio.
Generally, only High Tier Curios would have such evident taboos and side effects.
Shawn silently accepted it without expressing gratitude.
The favor he owed the Butcher couldn’t be repaid with just a thank you.
"I’m leaving."
Shawn said calmly, "Someday, I will return."
One day, he would sit at the dining table.
