Chapter 208: Nanny Liu

Amidst the crisis, the given time for the third round also ended and it’s finally the day of their performance. At this moment, the trainees on the backstage felt like their hearts would go out of their chest because of the tension and worry for later.

This is a live performance where everyone will see them personally. The sudden announcement from Jiang Su that time brought them such a high anxiety and thus for the given time to practice, they felt they were sitting on thin needles. The pressure was building inside them and all they could think was how to perform with great performance on stage.

What’s more, the live performance is way different from how in the past wherein the audience would just sit in front of the stage and watch them perform. This era is more immersive due to the high technology and the use of their mental power for creativity which can let them watch the performance with greater experience. In addition, this live performance is exclusive and thus, the audience can watch the episode earlier than others.

Anyway, this round is totally a challenge for everyone. This is not just about how you perform on stage but also about how you can execute with stability and confidence to fully express yourself.

This is a high risk challenge because if you can perform better, you have a high chance of gaining more supporters, but if not, it’ll probably be your end.

As they watch how the seat inside the small arena is being occupied as time passes by, their anxiety is reaching to even on the higher end.

"Captain, I am not confident if I can fully perform later so I am very sorry." Qin An’s team member went to him and bowed his head in disappointment. The young man’s face was pale and he was sweating badly due to the tension that he’s feeling.

Other members had their attention turned to his words and some members also stepped forward and apologized not just to Qin An but especially to the members who are in high class. Their team may have the most members who are in a higher class level but with them who are in such lower class, this would definitely affect the team.

Right now, guilt filled inside them because of the fear of affecting the group. During their practice, Qin An and others had helped them step-by-step. They were very patient in teaching them and had guided them to improve. There are times of course that they’ll be scolded and they become strict but all of them knew that it was for them.

The members have tried their best to help them. They are very grateful of course but seeing the situation outside, the tiny confidence they had was extinguished and the reality that they will just be a burden felt like a cold water being splashed on them.

Can they really do this right? What if they’d be the reason why their team won’t win? After spending time with them, they knew that they were not like any people who had skills but were filled with arrogance. They are the people who’re willing to lend their hands to them.

Shen Lou was a great teacher, Nan Moyi is someone like an elder brother, Han Suwen would often tease them but he can point out the things they need to improve, He Yan is like a bright sun that never lose his vigorous energy, Lu Nanxiao is very funny and often bring the atmosphere light, and for their Captain Qin An, he is responsible to each of them... and a bit unexpectedly clumsy to simple things in life, not the stone-like young man they feared.

It was a rare short moment but they cherished it, and if they were the reason for their team’s downfall, they might not forgive themselves even if they were eliminated.

"What are you guys doing?" He Yan looked at their disgruntled energy in confusion. "Why are you even apologizing? We haven’t performed yet!"

"That’s right. Aside from that, even if we finished our performance, you shouldn’t still say that." Lu Nanxiao puts his arms on a member and shakes him a bit. "Put some confidence in yourself!"

"Nanxiao is right," Xing Ren said with an encouraging smile to them. "You shouldn’t think about what will happen later. And don’t think it will because we believe you can do it."

"Take a deep breath," Nan Moyi told them. "Don’t think about anything else."

Han Suwen raises his brows playfully. "You better relax yourself or that demoness will watch your face later."

"!!!" The trainees remembered what happened in the past and felt like Xu Xinyi’s face popped inside their mind that sent shivers down their spine.

This! They don’t want it! Just imagine that they will be targeted by the demoness later and even in front of the audience, maybe even being buried by the ground will not be enough to ease the embarrassment!

Seeing that their face changed from his teasing, the members laugh and thus make the atmosphere a bit.

Qin An was just looking at them when he felt a pat on his shoulder and saw Shen Lou. The young man looks at him sideways and motions him to everyone, clearly encouraging him to say something too as the leader of the team.

If it were before, he had no doubt that he’d refuse this. Not only because he was not used to giving motivation but he also didn’t believe it. In the past, Qin An just thought that only yourself can push you through, not the words from others if you won’t even do it.

But now...

"Our performance later isn’t just about ourselves," Qin An finally says. As they turned their attention to him, he continued. "Just remember to whom you want this to be heard."

Shen Lou smiled at his words and transferred his hand on the young man’s other shoulder to look like he was shouldering Qin An.

Remember to whom they want his song to be heard? Shen Lou thought of his sister who was away and silently sighs.

Just as he was about to say something, he suddenly felt a strong hand grabbing him.

"!!!" Shen Lou was caught off guard and was even more stunned when he saw who it was.

It was Shen Zhi’s Nanny Liu in front of him. She was wearing a staff’s uniform but it was obvious from her face that it seemed like she aged faster than the last time he saw her on the video call where she was fired by Shen Zhi herself.

"Young Master, please help me!" Nanny Liu’s sudden entrance and her shrilled voice made the backstage feel silent.

"You, what are you doing here?" Shen Lou frowned when he saw the woman who killed his cat. He subconsciously grabbed his arms back from her grip.

"Y-Young Master, please help me!" Nanny Liu’s face was very haggard and thin as if all the benefits she got from their family fades like a dream. It was too different from her usual gentleness in front of him and his family.

But Shen Lou was actually right.

After Nanny Liu was fired, no one wanted to hire her anymore because of her record from the Shen family. In addition, the Head Master Shen Jeitang also cut off all the connections she built when she was still in their family. He didn’t allow her to use Shen Zhi’s name to access some places where she can get referral treatment like in the past. And because she was used to having this benefit and enjoyed a wealthy life even with her job, it’s only been a short time that her funds were gone.

Her husband was also unexpectedly fired from his job because the Shen family revoked their recommendation for him while her children had a hard time at their school because they couldn’t afford the lifestyle anymore.

Nanny Liu was helpless and tried to go back to the mansion to talk to Shen Zhi but the latter was extremely busy and she also found out that she went away to the frontline. She can’t even talk to the Head of the family because she was not allowed to go inside the mansion.

The situation in her life made her desperate and she suddenly remembered Shen Lou. So she uses her left money to get inside the venue in hope to ask the young man to talk to his family.

"Youg Master, please forgive me! I didn’t mean to do it!" Nanny Liu pleaded with a crying face.

"You didn’t mean to kill Black? Do you think I’ll believe it?" Shen Lou asked with a dark face.

That was just a cat! It was just disgusting trash! Nanny wanted to shout in disdain because the young man was such a fool for treating that piece of animal so precious. She couldn’t understand how he treasured such an animal and actually fired her when she didn’t even do wrong!

However, she also knows that she can’t say those words in front of him or everyone else inside the venue. She looked at the crowd and saw many faces from wealthy families. She also knows that there are cameras everywhere so maybe she can use this to make him agree.

A flash of malicious calculation appeared in her eyes and she quickly covered it through crying harder and even started kneeling in front of Shen Lou to beg.
