While Han Suwen and his mother Yao Jiali were getting their emotional reunion inside the room, the three outside chose to silently close the door and Su Mian motioned the two to follow her to a vacant room.

"You can stay here while waiting for Suwen," Su Mian offers them tea on the table. "You are Suwen’s friends, right? May I ask about him? I only saw that child when he was still a baby. I once carried him but after that, Sister Jiali decided to send him to that family."

Qin An and Gu Yijin looked at each other and decided for him to answer him anyway. He talked about the competition that they joined and Han Suwen’s performance all throughout the rounds.

At first, Su Mian was surprised but eventually got excited by what she heard.

"Lucky99, right? Then I’ll surely watch it! I’m sure that his mother would also be delighted. Sister Jiali can listen to Suwen’s voice if she misses him." Su Mian plans but also felt pity that her sister couldn’t really see her own son.

The price that she sacrificed was too cruel not just for her son but also for herself. She could just have resisted it normally, but out of fear that she’ll ruin Suwen’s life, she really did that.

Only themselves witnessed how she just did that to her own self and eventually withered without a care. Yao Jiali didn’t even care about her own self and just wanted a clear assurance that she won’t ruin her son’s life.

For the next remaining hours that the company gave for Han Suwen to meet his mother, he wasted no time to have all the conversation with her about his life. Even though he was curious about her, since the latter clearly just wanted to listen to him, Han Suwen chose to let her.

During that time, Han Suwen spoke just all about the good things that happened to him. Even if it was not that often, he was sure to pick out just those little moments as he didn’t want to worry her anymore. Of course, he also didn’t forget about the competition he was in.

He introduced her to Gu Yijin and Qin An and she was very enthusiastic about them. Han Suwen also told her about his growth and experiences he had in the competition to not worry her anymore about his life.

"That’s good, Suwen." Yao Jiali didn’t pressure her son and just smiled encouragingly at him. However she felt a bit pitiful. Because of her condition, she can only listen to him right now. Because of the damage she caused within herself, it was not only her physical strength but also her mental power that got affected, making her feel unstable and couldn’t use her brain.

Aside from what she couldn’t even see, any entertainment is not her interest anymore after what happened to her life.

She knew that Suwen definitely concealed many stories about himself, only telling her the good stories to not worry him. Her heart aches but also feels the warmth from him.

This time, all her waiting was worth it. Her perseverance to endure the pain and the daily darkness is worth it for him.

When the time was over, even if Han Suwen felt reluctant, he understood his situation and thus just promised Yao Jiali that he would visit her sooner.

Sitting inside the hovercar while they were driving back to the company, Han Suwen’s eyes remained outside the window and only when he finally couldn’t see her did he withdraw and face the two.

"Thank you," he said softly. He heard that they convinced Director Qian to withdraw the footage of his choice to go to this place. Even though he knew that the Han family might know sooner or later, but only if they are still guarding against her. If not, then they can still be safe for now.

Han Suwen has no capabilities at this moment. He cannot protect her from any danger, especially from that family. He is still so weak and needed time to gain strength to face them.

"It’s a small matter," Qin An replies.

Gu Yijin also nodded and was silent for a moment before he looked at him.

"You’re still lucky that you can meet her," he couldn’t help but say.

Han Suwen also realizes their situation and feels silent. Truthfully he was feeling heavy earlier. He just felt unfortunate and injustice for their situation because his mother sacrificed her eyes to ensure his life.

But at what cost? Yes, he was living under that family but he was never treated right. Everyday, he was bathed with abuse and insults from them. It was far from what Yao Jiali may have expected because they never acknowledged him.

Yet realizing his situation from Gu Yijin and Qin An’s situation is indeed more lucky than them.

Han Suwen’s obstacle was only humans and power while they were facing against them itself. It’s more impossible to meet them again unlike him.

He still has a future that he can change while they will never have this chance.

"My Mother is also someone who can sacrifice everything for her loved ones." It was rare that Gu Yijin opened up but his face looks a bit melancholy and somewhat nostalgic about his past.

"She’s a soldier and together with my Dad, they fought for justice and the country. It was still hard to accept their deaths but I knew that they would never regret it. Before there’s me, they had already given their life to the country." Inside the hover car, all they could hear was Gu Yijin’s talking.

"I spent a little time with them but I knew that their sacrifices were still worth it." Gu Yijin looked at Han Suwen. "You should take all the chances to find a way to be with her. We don’t always know what will happen, you know, so it’s better to live without regrets."
