Chapter 230: No Matter What
The night before the performance, the trainees decided to take a rest and gathered together in the large living room to chat and eat snacks together. The atmosphere around them was no longer tense as usual even if their performance will be performed live tomorrow.
It’s actually not because they are too confident to perform excellently, but rather the burden of thinking too much about what will happen in the future just seems to dissipate inside their hearts especially after the family visit. After seeing the support from the closest of their heart, there was no haze anymore to the path they wanted to take.
For tomorrow, they just wanted to perform the best they can do, whatever may happen.
While everyone was busy chatting, Han Baiwei suddenly walked by and stood in front of Han Suwen.
The atmosphere was abruptly halted and silence engulfed them.
What is Han Baiwei suddenly doing? Is he picking a fight with Han Suwen?
However, contrary to their expectation, Han Baiwei instead looked a bit nervous as he hesitantly asked the young man in front of him.
"C-Can I talk to you privately?"
"..."
Everyone was confused. Not only for what he asked but especially from the attitude that he performed. Han Baiwei actually asked for permission from the illegitimate brother that he always loathed? And not to mention the slight nervousness on his face as if he was afraid that the latter would refuse. Is this really the usual arrogant and spoiled young master?
Even Han Suwen’s expression on his face couldn’t help but express a faint disbelief. Though at the end, he merely nodded and followed Han Baiwei out of the living room.
Watching the two together leaving, Nan Moyi calmly scooted over to sit on Han Suwen’s original seat to get close to Qin An and whispered to the young man who had his eyes still on the direction where the two left.
"Are you worried?" he whispered.
Qin An stilled a bit but eventually nodded silently.
Nan Moyi sighs a little and raises his hand to slightly pat the young man’s head. "What are you worrying about? Don’t you know Suwen? He won’t be bullied that easily."
Qin An didn’t answer but his eyes wandered, clearly still worried. Although Nan Moyi didn’t understand why he was so worried when in fact just by judging between the two Han, Han Suwen has more personality to fight back. Just based on his attitude, he is sure that he will not let himself be bullied. But since Qin An is worried, then he will.
Nan Moyi looked at the young man silently, his eyes had a faint gentleness of what an older brother would look like to his younger one.
The days together with Qin An made him completely understand the hidden child beneath the cold and stoic young man. Nan Moyi had truly seen the lonely soul underneath the sharp spirit that they always see. For him, Qin An looks like his younger sibling, Nan Molin, a younger brother next to him.
Probably because he was too busy looking for a job that only Molin became the other parent inside the house apart from him. He took care of responsibility too and developed a character that is silent and more like an old man than him.
But Nan Moyi knew that it was just because of the force burden on Molin’s shoulder that he became like that. Inside him, he was still the younger brother who would always look at him with those naive and pure eyes.
Nan Moyi was actually right. Han Suwen won’t let himself be bullied.
Because when they came to a spot where no one else was, Han Suwen spoke first.
"If you want to say something insulting, don’t bother." Han Suwen looked very unbothered. He thought that maybe he would be arrogant again and say something upsetting which he didn’t care about.
Han Suwen no longer cares. In the past, he just acted silent because he was afraid that he would be left with nothing. Even though he knew he was not accepted by the family, they didn’t dare to let go of him for the sake of reputation and bloodline. Han Suwen also had nothing on his back and thus just endured that lowly life.
But now he is no longer alone. Finally, Han Suwen knew that he had his mother behind him, waiting for him.
So he was not afraid. Even if he will be punished by the Han family or they will do something for him to be kicked out in the competition. What matters to him is they will not hurt his mother.
It’s just that on the contrary to his expectation, Han Baiwei is not here to fight with him.
The young man’s expression hesitated a bit before telling the truth.
"I knew where you went when you left."
"!!!"
Han Suwen froze.
"You went to your—"
"Is that your business?" Han Suwen quickly interrupted him before he could finish his sentence. His face turned black and he shot glares at Han Baiwei coldly. He clenches his fist and forces himself to calm down.
Because clearly at this moment, his heart starts to feel very anxious. He knew that if Han Baiwei would say that sentence, his visit to his mother would no longer be concealed.
They might harass her again and they will surely not let him go.
"Han Baiwei." He clenched his jaw. "Don’t speak."
He wanted to leave immediately to avoid things again but Han Baiwei quickly blocked his way and looked up to the flying camera.
"Director, can you let us decide whether you can air this or not? It’s very important."
"...Okay," Qian Jin sounded from the camera.
Han Suwen frowned. "What are you planning to do?" He is becoming irritated by now. "Whatever nonsense you’ll do, don’t include me—"
"You know that it will be a matter of time before they find out what you did." Han Baiwei cut him off. The young man took a deep breath before looking solemnly and firmly to Han Suwen. "I won’t let them."
"!!!"
Han Suwen’s eyes widened in disbelief. What did he just hear?!
"I won’t let them," Han Baiwei repeated with a determination in his voice. "Don’t worry. I won’t let my mother go to your mother or anyone in the family to harass her anymore."
