Chapter 237 - 236: The Good And Evil
CHAPTER 237: CHAPTER 236: THE GOOD AND EVIL
Chapter 236: The Good And Evil
Even when facing the previous elimination rounds, although he also felt sad and worried, that was never enough to make his heart go too much weary.
Because he believed that that was the possible fact that they always have to face. It’s an end that he knew that will always happen and might happen to him, so he was not that affected.
How did his heart start to change?
Maybe it was when he accompanied his friend to face the chaos. He was with He Yan when the young man got the courage to reject others and for the first time, face the real face of his so-called ’friends’.
He was with the young man when the latter started to get confused, drowning to the questions everyday.
Xing Ren felt hurt for his friend but also understood that He Yan must wake up. The young man must face the world where he doesn’t have to please anyone.
Truthfully, Xing Ren had once felt envy towards He Yan.
Who doesn’t? When it was at the beginning of the competition, the young man radiated like a bright sun wherever he went. He Yan was always chosen, He Yan was always welcomed by everyone.
As for him, he knew that others would just take him into consideration because he is He Yan’s friend— a second choice, maybe.
This envy was planted inside his heart and Xing Ren hated it. Who wants to feel envy and jealous towards your own friend? But he couldn’t stop that feeling.
Thus unknowingly, he let others use He Yan’s innocence to take over things.
He let his friend be manipulated by such disgusting words.
Of course he felt guilty.
Only when he faced the young man’s confusion and pain that Xing Ren woke up to that hidden madness.
He was wrong. He was extremely wrong.
Xing Ren was a coward. A fool who let his friend in that situation. What kind of friend is he? He Yan had always treated him well and genuinely but what about him? He was stupid. Too stupid.
Xing Ren’s heart turned firm day by day and promised to himself that he will never let his friend be confused and betrayed.
Thus even when he felt uncomfortable, Xing Ren embraced the dark emotions inside him to let his friend face it everyday. Letting the latter understand that even he, who is his trusted fellow can also betray him like others.
Xing Ren let those emotions create a chaos inside his heart, even though it also meant destroying the stillness inside him.
"You’re just a fool,
Was that why no one would choose me?"
Xing Ren’s eyes turned red as he looked at He Yan with jealousy and darkness.
"If you disappear
Will they see me?
Why not? When I am the truth..."
Why would humans still choose him and deny him when the truth was their hearts were like him, full of evil? The God of evil felt injustice and wanted to defeat the other God. Maybe if God disappeared, humans would face their real face, right?
He Yan and Xing Ren stood face to face with the same expressions on their faces. They are both holding long swords and seem to be ready to fight each other.
"If you disappear
Will they come back to me?
Why not? When I am what they always choose..." He Yan sings, looking at the God of evil with his determination to defeat the latter.
If humans wouldn’t bore dark emotions, for sure they’ll go back to what he believes in the past. Full of gratitude and love towards him.
It was just all because of this God that they started harboring evil towards him.
Tension grew on the stage as they pointed the tip of the sword with each other before finally moving fast and swift to fight.
Clashes of swords sounded as a large full moon appeared behind them. First it was just a bright moon when a shadow of the sun appeared, engulfing it like a solar eclipse. It seems like the sun and moon are also clashing over who will win to stay in this world.
"It’s the beauty that they will always choose..." He Yan gritted.
"But are those just your lies?" Xing Ren sneers. Their swords clash like forming a huge X and they hold it tightly to push the enemy. Their faces drew closed as they stared at each other’s eyes— both carrying madness and desperation to win.
Dark mist enveloped the two again and the audience could no longer see the rivalry between the two Gods. The sound of different instruments surrounds the venue, feeling heavy as if there’s one hand holding their neck so they couldn’t help but hold their breath.
Everyone waited to see who won the intense fight.
Meanwhile, the chaotic instrumental slowly changes, gradually fading until only the sounds of piano lingering remain.
"Why do you still choose the lies?"
When the stage was cleared, the audience saw the God of evil kneeling with a defeated look on his face. His sword was laying on the ground, now broken.
Xing Ren was staring blankly at the ground and there was agony on his face.
Meanwhile, the God of goodness was standing in front of him, disheveled but clearly the one who won. But his face doesn’t have any joy or happiness for it.
He was looking at the other God and heard his whimper.
"Why do you still choose to lie?"
He Yan’s tone was soft but carries a hint of plead. The God of goodness won but it seems like the chaos inside his heart remains.
Right now, there was a clear distinction who won and died from this fight, but both look defeated.
Behind them, a full solar eclipse was painted largely in the sky— an answer for their doubts.
An eclipse that tells that there’s always evil living with the good, and there’s always the beauty of warmth beneath the darkness.
