CHAPTER 233: 233: CAN I...?

Their eyes locked. The atmosphere was stiff.

"It doesn’t matter. Does it?" Felix forced a smile. "You said you were tired, so you should go get some rest..."

It was clear that he was trying to change the topic. He didn’t wish to speak about it, and Eden knew it was going to be hard to try getting any information from him at all.

Eden wanted to try something else. Try getting information from him in some way or something. But it was already too late now.

Because they overheard someone coming through that hallway. And Eden pulled Felix by the hand and they dashed to a corner, hiding.

".... My Queen, are you sure about this..?" came a lady’s voice. And curious, Eden peeped from his hiding place to see who it was and what was going on.

He saw Queen Elizabeth. She was in the company of her lady-in-waiting. And the two of them were heading in a direction he was sure he knew. One he was sure he saw them headed to the other day.

Queen Lea’s chamber.

"... I don’t think it’s a good idea to go to Queen Lea’s room. She’s going to humiliate you as she did the other day. She’s going to make you clean her feet or something. Please don’t go. Let’s find a way to end this. Let’s meet the king if possible..." she expressed.

But Queen Elizabeth didn’t listen. She had already made up her mind. And she was heading to the destination without a word. And soon, they were out of sight.

Eden hesitated; the thought of seeing them there the other day came to his mind. "They’re going there again...?" he muttered to himself.

And then he recalled the words of the lady-in-waiting. She had said something about Queen Lea making her clean her feet or something about bullying her.

And it made sense to Eden what was happening. Queen Lea, as expected, was bullying Queen Elizabeth secretly. And she was letting it happen for peace to reign. As always.

"That annoying lady is at it again..." he muttered as fury boiled up within him. He didn’t think he could ignore this as if nothing happened.

A deep part of him wanted to do something.

"Hey..." Felix suddenly said amidst his thoughts. And Eden realized where he was. He was standing in front of Felix, whom he had pinned to the wall. His hands on his chest and his head close to his neck.

Eden looked up at him. "Huh?"

"Don’t you think you’re too close?" Felix asked.

Eden stared at him. He would have stepped backwards, but he didn’t after he recalled something. At a moment like this, he needed his powers. He would need them if he wanted to find his way into Queen Lea’s room and save Queen Elizabeth while making Lea pay.

And his ticket to getting his powers was just right in front of him. And so he knew he needed to grab it.

"Can I kiss you?" Eden asked, randomly.

"Huh?" Felix was beyond confused over the random request.

"I desperately want to kiss you. Like now. Can I?" Eden asked again as Felix’s heart fluttered.

Felix couldn’t tell what was wrong with him. But he could tell that those words from Eden were the reason his heart was protesting. It was something new, but it felt clear to him. The feeling of falling in love...

He panicked. Panicking over the random feeling he was never expecting.

"Why would you..."

"I just feel like it," Eden flashed him a smile. "So can I?"

"Well, I..." Felix cleared his throat, his Adam’s apple bobbing. "I guess you can..."

Before he could even finish his sentence, Eden leaned in for a kiss. His lips pushed deep against Felix’s lips and his tongue broke into Felix’s mouth.

It was soon steamy. Their lips played over each other while their tongues intertwined into a hot game of pull and push. They could feel their saliva against each other, and Felix could feel Eden’s hands that came to his chest.

Eden caressed his chest, stroking him gently while he pushed in for a deeper and hotter kiss. One that left Felix craving for more. He held Eden’s waist, pulling him closer as his lips covered his. His head tilted sideways to kiss him better.

Their breath grew heavy as their lips brushed against each other. Breathing into each other while closing the gap with their tongues. It was hot, messy, and breathy. A kiss that had them glued for a while.

Before Eden broke off the kiss. He had forgotten for a while that he had something else to do. And so he now stared at Felix, whose eyes were on him.

Their breaths were heavy as he studied the eyes of the young man who certainly wasn’t satisfied with what he started. He smiled. "I would have loved to keep you company, but I’m busy."

Eden added, "See you around." He smiled as he disappeared into thin air.

And with him gone, Felix stood there all alone. He stared into thin air. The same air Eden had occupied a while back. And he couldn’t stop his heart from running in the moment.

"What was that..." he found himself muttering as he placed a hand over his chest. His heart was beating. A little bit too hard. And all he had in his mind was Eden and the kiss.

"Does he like me or what?" he asked himself and then shook his head. "Even though he does, I can’t be swayed that easily. We’re both guys. Yes. It’s not going to happen... between us..." he found himself saying.

Queen Lea was enjoying a cup of tea when a knock came at her door. And then someone announced.

"Queen Elizabeth is here."

Queen Lea sipped from her cup as she scoffed. "She took a lot of time. I even thought she wouldn’t make it."

One of her maids said, "She wouldn’t dare ignore your instructions. So she had to come even if she liked it or not."

Queen Lea smiled. "Right. Now let her in. Don’t keep your Queen waiting."
