CHAPTER 258: 258: THE FIGHT

Everyone in the hall had begun taking cover. They knew trouble was cooking, so they knew they had to protect themselves.

Most began hiding, while some stood farther back. They believed the priest was taking down Eden, so they wouldn’t be hurt.

King Edward and Queen Lea sat firmly, watching; they were aware of what was going to happen, so they didn’t run or whatsoever. They only had the guards stand around them, protecting them.

Princess Cordelia, too, was in the protection of the imperial guards.

Lysander, on the other hand, stood there watching. He had just gotten to his feet from the wave effect, and now he was worried. He watched as the priest attacked Eden. He wanted to help, but he didn’t know what to do—at least at that moment.

It was the same with Adrian and Elvis. They had all been pushed off to the side by the waves, and now they had managed to get up on their feet. They only watched while trying to understand the situation first.

"Weak?" Eden repeated, staring at the priest.

The priest smiled. "I’m not dumb. So of course I picked up something strange about you when we first met. Strangely, your powers feel incomplete. As though they’re sealed off or something. So you’re most certainly weak at this moment."

"I don’t know how that happened, but I guess it’s an advantage nevertheless." He smiled as he cast another wave.

Eden shielded it off with his arms as a purple wave blasted through the air, sending the green wave through the room.

"That doesn’t mean anything," Eden scoffed. "I can still take you down with any level of power I have left."

The priest laughed. "Still as overconfident as always, I see." He put his hands together and summoned a bigger green light.

He waved it around his hands for a while and then sent it towards Eden. The light attacked as Eden struggled to shield himself by creating a purple shield.

The shield only protected him for a few seconds before shattering. And so Eden fell on his back in pain, panting.

The priest smiled. "Just as I thought, this is the power that can stand against yours. I’ve taken my time to make it, so of course it has to be perfect," he said, both hands together as he waved another big light.

Eden was on the floor, staggering to get up on his feet. He felt pain over his chest as he tried getting up. It was obvious the powers used by the priest were getting to him.

"Oh shit, am I really going to die like this?!" Eden said to himself, panicking. He couldn’t die like this. But then again, he didn’t think he knew a way out of this.

The King and Queen smiled at the scene. They were happy to see that the wizard was about to be taken down once and for all. They were glad they got to see his end.

"I never thought ending you would be this easy, though," The priest sighed, the huge green light still hovering over both his hands. "But I guess it’s better than having you roam around."

And then he cast the green wave towards Eden with the hopes of watching him break down in pain and his powers shatter from it.

But Elvis had stepped in.

Elvis had pulled a sword from a guard at the side and instantly came in between Eden and the priest. As the wave flew towards Eden, Elvis came in-between with his sword and used it to shield it off.

He slashed the sword at the wave as it hit the sword. Elvis held the sword tightly enough to have the wave bounce off the sword and then disperse throughout the room.

It was a huge wave. One that blasted Elvis backwards and one that sent everyone in the room staggering from its power.

Elvis was now on the floor with his sword, but at least he had saved Eden from getting hit.

Eden looked up at Elvis and then at the priest. The priest had staggered but stood his ground as he stared at them.

He scoffed. "Do you think that was going to stop me?" he questioned as Elvis slowly got up to his feet with his sword.

He held his sword firmly as he stared at the priest. "At least I can try."

King Edward was pissed off at this. "You bastard! Step away now! How dare you stand in-between!" he snapped.

But Elvis didn’t listen. He stood there, holding his sword firmly while glaring at the Priest.

"Your Highness, I don’t want to hurt you. So step aside now so I can get done with my job," the priest demanded.

"Well you’ll have to go through my dead body if you want to do that," Elvis said firmly.

Princess Cordelia was already panicking. She struggled to break free from the Imperial guards so she could go to Elvis. But they held her.

"Let me go now! I order you!!"

"Prince Elvis! Come out now! It’s dangerous!"

Eden was still on the floor, staring at Elvis. He was still recovering from the blow while thinking of how he was going to get out of this mess.

"That brat .. does he think he can stop him or what? Why’s he sacrificing his life when he’s supposed to be with his bride," Eden muttered as he struggled to sit up, but found it hard nevertheless.

He was still in pain.

"I can’t stay like this. I’ll be dead soon if I do. I can’t like the novel kill me like this," He said, thinking of something.

The King laughed. "If you’re so desperate to die, then do as you wish," He said to the priest. "Don’t mind anyone who stands in your way. Consider them traitors and cast them aside. Just make sure you put an end to the wizard of EL today," He ordered.

And with a smile, The priest nodded. "Sure. I’ll do just that."
