CHAPTER 70: RUINOUS CALAMITY!!

"You really think so low of your own Master, Huh!! That you’re doubting me and are even arguing if what I said is indeed true or not!! ~ "

She uttered with a smile, as she took a sip of her red wine, not looking at him..

"Ah.. I didn’t mean it that way– " Black tried to clarify..

"I only said that — I take them as my ’equals’ and not that they are actually my ’equals’ or could even defeat me!! ~ "

Evelynn said, now looking directly into his eyes..

"Wh-What do you mean!?"

Her lips curled as she replied. "Fufu.. what do you think.. ’I mean’, Hmm!! Why don’t you ask those three behind you!! ~ "

"Since you can’t believe me.. you might believe them.. My Dear Disciple!! ~ "

she whispered a shrewd smile gracing her lips.

Black looked at her without saying anything for a few seconds, his stunned expression returning to normal and his thoughts calming all the while he turned towards Luna after that few seconds, hoping she would explain the meaning of Evelynn’s earlier words.

"What Lady Evelynn said is indeed true Master! ~ " Luna nodded in agreement.

"Although Lady Evelynn is not part of Octagram! She is still a Guardian of Elytheria, the strongest one out of all The Seven Guardians, in fact! And The Leaders of Octagram had given her the Title of Ruinous Calamity!! They call her the Incarnation of Destruction itself, Master! ~ "

"Lady Evelynn is indeed the strongest woman ’I’ know in all of Elytheria! She even has a contract with The World Spirit herself and In the — "

"Alright! Alright! I never asked you for such a fancy introduction, Luna! It was all good as long as you had told him that what I said wasn’t wrong and that I’m Indeed the strongest!! ~ " she said chuckling.

"Ah. I’m sorry! Lady Evelynn!! ~ " Luna quickly bowed, her cheeks flushed.

She really looked up to Evelynn after all, so in her excitement she didn’t even realize she was going of topics.

Meanwhile Black again panned his golden gaze towards Evelynn. Besides this time his gaze wasn’t of doubt instead it was reflecting the sensation of astonishment, admiration and respect he felt towards her, upon learning of her formidable strength.

Yet there was also something else.. a spark aglow with the embers of determination to also become that strong! As strong as his Master or perhaps become even stronger!!.

"But how are you so strong and how did you even become so strong Master!! ~ " Zephyr questioned from the side. Her voice curious.

She had been listening to the on going conversation all this time attentively. Then as though she remembered something..

"On second thought, forget that, instead tell me, did you also take Black as your disciple to ask him in the future to help you ascend to the next Phase like you told all the other Divine’s wants him to do!!?"

Evelynn raised her brows at Zephyr unexpected question, well she did expect to hear this question eventually but the one she had expected to ask this question was Black not Zephyr herself.

Nonetheless she still answered there query calmly..

"No! I don’t need him to reach the next Phase. I myself am confident enough and further have enough faith in my own strength that I know that I’ll eventually and ultimately reach the next phase one way or another, I don’t need anyone’s help in that regard, little girl! ~ "

"And as for how I’m this strong it’s simply because of the Cosmic Laws I command and have compherended.. Well, its one of the main reasons for my current strength!! ~ "

She said all the while showing her empty wine glass towards the Maids, understanding her gesture Freya who was nearest to her amongst all of them moved forward, filling her empty wine glass with the red wine bottle placed on the side with a elegant motion.

"Then why did you take him in.. no why did you take us in as your disciples, Master ~ "

Although Black immediately wanted to ask just what are these Laws, that Evelynn had talked a few times about yet still he held himself back upon hearing Zephyr’s question.

He too was interested in knowing why she took them in after hearing what she said earlier. His ears were perked up — attentive, yet still he didn’t forgot to enjoy the lavish meal before him all the while also listening to Evelynn as she began..

Evelynn pursed her lips yet still decided to answer..

"I just wanted to feel the sensation of beating up a real Progenitor.. Ah.. "

She stopped upon realizing what she had said, averting her amethyst gaze, her cheeks tinged with a slight shade of red.

With a slight cough, she tried to explain herself..

"Alright.. I know that the reason is really stupid for taking him in as my Disciple but.. but even I can get curious you know!! ~ "

Now directly looking towards them she continued..

"He is a Progenitor after all and one doesn’t even get the chance to meet one in once entire life-time let alone.. you know.. beat one ~ "

Her last words were bairly above a whisper yet in the silence that was birthed because of her earlier words they rumbled like a thunderstorm which all five of the people present in the dining hall heard clearly.

"Tnk!!"

Then suddenly the sound of a spoon hitting the ground was heard in the silence compelling all the girls present in the room to look towards the source of the sound.

Black had a wide eyed expression on his face, the revelation that he was taken in as a disciple because of a certain curiosity towards a sensation that Evelynn would’ve experienced upon beating him had left him simply stunned and dumbfounded.

"You.. you took me in as.. as your disciple just to beat me up.. to feel how it feels like to beat a progenitor.. you can’t be serious.. right!!"

He didn’t even call her Master this time because of the shock.

"Well.. yeah.. pretty much that is the only reason.. is there something wrong with that.. My Disciple! ~ " she asked.

’Is there something wrong with that, no there is everything wrong with that Master’ Zephyr screamed in her mind. Yet didn’t voice out her thoughts because of the shock she herself felt.

Black didn’t know what to say upon such a response, he was totally stumped since she didn’t even try to deny the accusation.

However then he suddenly heard a strange voice coming from his behind causing him to turn his gaze towards his three maids only to see them giggling.

At his sudden action all three of them Luna, Wix and Freya quickly wore there normal natural expressions without waisting a second, since as prime and proper Maids they couldn’t be seen as laughing behind there Master’s back since that would be considered blasphemy after all even though it was a subconscious reaction of there body by what they heard.

Black’s brows twitched, yet he really couldn’t blame them either since he might have also reacted the same way by what Evelynn had said earlier if it wasn’t about him getting beaten up and instead was about someone else.

Furthermore he was even more astonished by the fact that just how really fast the transition between there two expressions was.. that it almost appeared unnatural.

He wouldn’t even have believed it either if he hadn’t seen it with his own two eyes..
