"Shiraha-kun—no, I should say, Kuchiki Third Seat. You're probably the youngest officer of that rank in all of Soul Society. Now even the Head-Captain is optimistic about you, personally inviting you to the First Division. The future ahead of you... limitless."

After Chōjirō Sasakibe departed, Ichimaru Gin strolled forward, hands tucked into his sleeves as always, his fox-like smile never fading. The creases in his eyes twitched faintly, but his voice remained gentle, unhurried. Though his words were casual, the weight of his curiosity was unmistakable.

Sasakibe had extended the First Division's offer in the name of Yamamoto Genryūsai himself—something Gin hadn't foreseen, and it clearly unsettled his expectations.

"Captain Ichimaru, I was just lucky," Shiraha replied softly, offering a polite smile without giving a clear answer.

But Gin wasn't done.

"Kuchiki Third Seat, now that you've graduated from the Spiritual Arts Academy, why not consider joining our Third Division instead?" His tone lowered, more coaxing now. "With your strength, I can appoint you vice-captain immediately. And if you achieve Bankai, I'll personally recommend you to become a full captain. What do you say?"

A tempting offer—one Gin made sound simple. But Shiraha's response was polite and firm. "Thank you for the generous offer, Captain Ichimaru. I'll consider it seriously. However, my spiritual and physical reserves are depleted. I'd like to rest for now."

Behind the courteous facade, Shiraha's thoughts were already elsewhere. Accepting Gin's invitation would sabotage the system's captain-sign-in task and worse—it would place him too close to Aizen.

For now, Shiraha didn't intend to attract that kind of attention.

He had avoided Aizen throughout his time at the Academy. Even when Renji, Kira Izuru, and Hinamori Momo had invited him to Aizen's popular calligraphy lectures, Shiraha had always found reasons to decline. Not because of disdain—but caution.

He wasn't ready to play that game yet.

"Well then," Gin said with a chuckle, "I'll be waiting for you at the Third Division. Don't keep me hanging too long." With a flash of Shunpo, he disappeared into the distance, leaving only the faint scent of tension in the air.

"Join the Third Division?" Shiraha scoffed softly to himself, eyes narrowed. "Not a chance."

He turned and walked away.

Fifth Division Barracks – Captain's Office

In the polished silence of the Fifth Division, Aizen sat alone behind his desk, calmly reviewing documents. His fingers moved in fluid, rhythmic precision across the paper. The door never opened, but a figure appeared silently before him.

"Gin," Aizen said without glancing up, "How did it go with Kuchiki Shiraha?"

There was no surprise in his voice—only confirmation. Aizen already knew. Ichimaru Gin, despite his easygoing demeanor, had been Shiraha's final examiner by Aizen's own design. This was not a coincidence. It was an experiment. A way to better understand the boy's potential.

Gin's smile deepened as he answered, "Exactly as you expected, Captain Aizen. Kuchiki Shiraha passed the graduation exam and will report to the First Division tomorrow."

"Third Seat now, is he?" Aizen asked, finally lifting his gaze. He pushed his glasses up with one finger, smiling faintly.

"That's right," Gin said. "Vice-Captain Sasakibe awarded him the position after watching him defeat Captain Zaraki."

Aizen blinked slowly. "Zaraki Kenpachi?"

He had sensed the two clashing spiritual pressures during the graduation test—immense flares of Reiatsu that had pierced even the protective Kidō barriers of the Academy—but he hadn't expected Kenpachi to be the other participant.

"So those two pressures were Kenpachi and Shiraha... fascinating."

Gin nodded, feigning awe. "And what's even more terrifying, Shiraha walked away without a scratch. Captain Zaraki was carried off unconscious. I'd say Kuchiki Shiraha has already touched captain-level strength."

Aizen closed the last page of his paperwork, calmly setting it aside. "No need to act just yet, Gin. He's still only a variable. An unknown. He doesn't threaten our plans—for now."

He stood slowly, walking to the large window that overlooked the barracks. Sunlight streamed in, casting a faint glow along the frame of his glasses. A glimmer of something sharp passed through his eyes.

"And you said Yamamoto Genryūsai extended him an invitation?"

"Yes," Gin confirmed. "And I offered him a place in the Third Division, but he declined. Doesn't seem interested in us."

Aizen's smile returned, faint and chilling. "Interesting. Very interesting. I think it's time I met this Kuchiki Shiraha myself."

He stood silently for a moment, gazing into the horizon.

"Kuchiki Shiraha... which squad will you choose?"

South Rukongai District 1 – Kuchiki Clan Estate

Within the grand mansion of the Kuchiki family, the most distinguished of the Four Great Noble Houses, three figures sat in quiet conference.

Across from Shiraha sat his grandfather, Kuchiki Ginrei—the former captain of the Sixth Division and former clan head. Beside him, poised as ever, was Byakuya Kuchiki, the current captain of the Sixth Division and Shiraha's elder brother.

The atmosphere was unusually cheerful.

"Haha! Shiraha, you've truly surprised me!" Ginrei's eyes gleamed with pride. "You joined the Spiritual Arts Academy and graduated in just one month. Not only that—you defeated Zaraki Kenpachi and earned the Third Seat title. What a fine descendant of the Kuchiki family!"

Originally, Ginrei had intended for Shiraha to train for several years, building slow and solid foundations. But now Shiraha had not only slain an Adjuchas-class Menos Grande during the field exercise, but stood victorious in battle against the most fearsome captain in the Gotei 13.

"Grandfather, you flatter me. Captain Zaraki wasn't fighting at full strength," Shiraha replied humbly.

Byakuya studied his younger brother, his expression unreadable—but his voice was calm and clear. "Even so, your achievement is significant. Zaraki Kenpachi is among the most powerful captains. The fact that you bested him—even partially restrained—means your strength is already comparable to that of a seated captain."

Ginrei leaned forward slightly, eyes gleaming. "Shiraha, when you report to the First Division tomorrow and select your squad, I recommend joining the Sixth. With your strength and our clan's legacy, the vice-captain position is yours immediately."

Byakuya nodded. "That seat remains vacant. With your capability, there is no one more suitable."

Shiraha paused. His eyes, steady and unwavering, lifted to meet theirs.

"Grandfather. Brother. I appreciate your trust... but I'm not joining the Sixth Division," he said quietly. "I want to be a captain."
