CHAPTER 437: THE BLACK BEHEMOTH

She was enormous. Easily well over eight feet tall. And with a body like a mountain of stone.

Her skin was a smooth, glistening obsidian. Darker than even Malachi’s used to be and infinitely more

Every part of her seemed like a weapon. From the wicked horns curling out of her black hair, to the long talons on the edge of her fingertips.

Malachi thought that even if he and all his wives fought together, there was no way they could take this person.

Only Abaddon had ever made Malachi feel this way before. He didn’t think this woman was the black dragon’s equal, but the gap between them may not have been as small as one would think.

Her smile was bewitching and frightening. Every one of her teeth was gleaming white and pointed like blades.

And the way her bright orange eyes bored into him and Joanne was like that of a predator circling vulnerable prey.

Malachi hated that look.

""GRANNY K!!""

Askari and Reken ran up to the black behemoth without the slightest bit of fear. They clung to her legs and stared up at her with big smiles.

"We’re going on a sleepover!"

"Our auntie says we might get to shoot lasers!"

The behemoth smiled. It was every bit as terrifying as it was bewitching.

And then when she spoke, her voice was deceptively sweet and sultry. It didn’t fit her physique at all.

"Are you now... it sounds so fun I’m almost a little jealous."

The behemoth had yet to take her eyes off of Malachi and Joanne ever since she’d arrived. They couldn’t exactly take their eyes off her either.

"Is someone going to introduce me to these... delectable new additions?"

Aubrey laughed nervously. "Karliah, this is my brother, Mal, and his wife Joanne... I’ve shown you pictures of him like a hundred times now... he’s been to the house before too."

"Hmm...?"

The behemoth tilted her head as she seemed to be thinking about something quite hard.

"Huh. I do seem to recall a little something like that."

Malachi’s heart jumped into his throat when suddenly the behemoth was right in front of him, holding the underside of his chin with her talons.

"Oh honey, pictures just don’t seem to do you justice, do they?" She purred. "You certainly must be that woman’s brat. You’re both too pretty for your own good."

Malachi jerked his chin away defiantly. This only made Karliah grab him firmer by the jaw.

"Aww, no need to play hard to get, handsome. I can assure you that you’ve already got my full attention."

Aubrey wondered if now was one of those times when she should cover her kids’ eyes and ears so they didn’t actually hear something reserved for the dark side of the internet.

"Get your damn hands off my husband."

Joanne’s boldness surprised even herself.

She was shaking like a leaf and more afraid than she had ever been in her life. But she had her pride to maintain.

If she just walked away after letting this freakishly huge woman touch her man in front of her, she may as well roll over onto her back and die.

She put as much conviction into her words as she could, but somehow she doubted that she had sufficiently terrified the hulking demon.

"Well, aren’t you just the cutest thing. Don’t worry, honey, I was hoping you guys were a package deal anyway. There’s enough room in my bed for two."

Askari tugged on the large woman’s leggings. "Great Grammy, are you going to have a sleepover?"

"I hope so, little shit. Though we won’t be doing much sleepi-"

"OKAY!" Aubrey clapped her hands together and halted the conversation.

"Karliah, please stop calling our kids little shits. And stop bothering Malachi and Joanne, you’re making them uncomfortable."

"Aww, don’t be like that. I don’t think they’re as unfond of me as you make them sound." Karliah turned back to Malachi and Joanne. "Isn’t that right, cuties?"

Instead of answering, Malachi and Joanne picked up the girls’ bags and walked through the waiting portal.

But Karliah didn’t look offended. She seemed even more invested than before.

"Well... aren’t they cheeky."

Sabine could only roll her eyes.

"Alright, kids, tell your great grandma bye.... Don’t kiss her though. Oblivion knows where that mouth has been..." Sabine murmured.

The wives moved through the portal, leaving the twins behind with an extremely questionable figure.

"Bye, Grammy!"

"We’ll bring you something nice when we come back!"

"Sure thing. Have fun, brats." Karliah waved.

As soon as the kids went through the portal, it started to close.

But just before it shut, Karliah’s eyes flashed an even brighter orange.

The portal shrank into a glowing marble-sized ball that Karliah promptly slipped into her bra.

With a smile on her face, she proceeded to turn around and make her way down the hallway with an unusual amount of pep in her step.

She found a door on the opposite end of the hallway and threw open the door without even waiting to knock.

Inside, there was a realm of misty, shadowy black.

Dark green plants and nocturnal critters covered just about every stretch of land that one could see.

A few owls floated around Karliah for a moment, but she pulled out a bottle of hot sauce from her bra and miraculously, they were no longer interested in her.

"I’m not in the mood to play today, Karliah. Go and find something else to stick silicone in."

Karliah strained her neck to look up.

Nyx stared down at her with a body so enormous she couldn’t be measured.

Her skin was the night itself. The stars adorning her flesh were the beauty marks decorating her grand tapestry.

"You really must be in a mood. Usually, you’d be in here watching trashy television by now."

"If you just came to bother me, then please go find someone else. Albeit the few of us that are left..." Nyx blew a current of air from her nostrils and made a depressed sigh.

"I just have a favor to ask and then I’ll get out of your hair."

"That’ll be the first time that’s happened... what do you want?"

Karliah smiled innocently.

"Can I fuck your son?"

"Which one?"

"The one who smells like a monster. The pretty boy."

Nyx yelled so loudly that Karliah’s ears started to bleed. She didn’t even hear the answer that was given.

"...Was that a yes? I thought I heard a yes."
