Blood Nemesis
Chapter 161: Chew 1
CHAPTER 161: CHEW 1
’Void Temple.’
’Key!’
’Void Weaver.’
’Transfer of Key!!’
Many pieces of important information rushed into Oliver’s mind. The demon had become overconfident and finally decided to speak its mind.
Oliver was thrilled to hear it.
As the demon brought him closer to its mouth, Oliver began to piece together the fragmented clues like he was assembling a jigsaw puzzle.
Despite needing to make logical leaps, he finally had an idea about what was happening.
’The Void Weaver, the little Koi, is at the center of it all.’ He thought while fiercely protesting, slamming his fist and head against the demon’s hand.
From the demon’s perspective, Oliver was having a mental breakdown.
But in reality, he was enjoying the over-acting opportunity he received while carefully piecing together the information.
’The demon wants the key to some temple. In this side of Second Earth, there is only one important temple.’
’...The one near the gate.’
’When you consider the images of little Koi, otherwise known as Void Weaver, is depicted on this temple, it might be the Void Temple the demon was talking about.’
’There is a key to the Void Temple.’
’The little Koi has the Key.’
’That might mean there are hidden parts of the temple we knew nothing about.’
’And there is a way to enter these hidden areas.’ Oliver was thrilled.
’Killing and eating the little Koi will somehow allow the key to be transferred onto the body of the person that ate it? The mechanism behind it cannot be understood.’
Although the process or mechanism behind the key transfer was a point he couldn’t be sure of. He had reasons to believe it was some kind of ancient mystical artifact like the one he had on his blood sac.
’Still, because of my earlier lies, the demon believes my body contains the key.’
’It wants to eat me.’
Oliver looked at the horrifying maw enlarging in his vision with excitement.
He predicted his death a long time ago. There was no escape from an S-ranked monster, no less than an S-ranked demon.
So, he was prepared to die.
*Scoff*
Oliver smiled slightly when the demon placed him into its mouth.
’When you die, you have to die with style. Or make your enemy pay a price.’ He thought.
"Human, you deserve a fate worse than death for trying to trick me. Let’s see how you fare against this monster’s stomach acid. Ha ha ha..."
A thunderous sound rang inside Oliver’s mind.
The demon wished him to die miserably.
Ending its words, the demon laughed.
Promptly after that, without even chewing, it directly swallowed Oliver. A wave of saliva, along with a sticky, grotesque tongue filled with tiny barbs, rubbed against Oliver.
When he tried to move, the demon pushed him to its throat and gulped him down.
The horrendous smell of the demon, who seemed to have never brushed its teeth in its life, was terrible.
It was unbearable.
Oliver almost puked.
Rotten flesh sticking to the inside of the teeth.
Terrible liquid slamming against his body.
Everything made Oliver queasy.
This was the same person who dived into sewers. And yet, he felt disgusted when being swallowed whole.
’Anyway, this is great.’
Though he was suffocating because of the stench, this was the best thing that could have happened to him.
Dying with style was not possible.
Still, he can make the demon pay a price.
"Demon, didn’t mommy tell you to chew your food before you swallow?"
He screamed, releasing the last bit of air inside his lungs.
Then he let the smooth, slimy, saliva-filled throat muscles of the demon pull him to its stomach.
The demon seemed to have heard what Oliver was saying and laughed louder.
Oliver could feel the body of the demon shake.
Soon, the base of the throat opened up to reveal a bottomless pit.
The demon was fifty meters tall when it was standing on its four legs. The stomach of the demon was a horizontal cavern that was more than twenty meters wide.
Other than the disgusting smell, Oliver could see nothing inside.
He somehow pulled out the communication device from his back pocket and lit the flashlight attached to it.
However, the light was too dim to show him anything.
Suddenly, Oliver slipped from the end of the throat, into the stomach below.
Even from a mile away, he could sense the acidic smell rising from below him.
If he falls into it, he would dissolve into nothing within a minute.
Monsters are voracious creatures that kill and eat everything to grow in strength. Their digestive system was strong and capable of dissolving metal and rocks.
Oliver stood no chance against it.
"Fuck!" He shouted and released blood tentacles to stop his body from plummeting into the stomach acid.
The tentacles swiftly moved to the stomach wall, trying to latch onto it.
However, the mucus layer and hard stomach made it impossible to grab onto it.
His body continued to fall, albeit a little slower.
Outside, the demon smiled, sensing Oliver desperately trying to survive.
Meanwhile, Oliver quickly changed strategy.
He focused and peeped into the blood sac.
’There is about 50,000 litres of blood.’
He had absorbed blood when he was talking with the demon. Now, more than half of the blood sac was full.
’This is enough to buy me a few seconds.’
Oliver thought and converted ten thousand litres to mana. Then, he covered his body with another thousand litres of blood and layered the golden mana on top.
For a few seconds, he will be able to survive.
After that, he didn’t resist.
He released the blood tentacles, slowing down his fall, and dived right into the strong acid.
He couldn’t see anything.
It was dark inside the stomach.
But, relying on gravity, he swam towards the base of the stomach, ignoring the viscous saliva and stomach acid eating away at his armour.
This time, the golden armour didn’t appear.
It didn’t care about protecting Oliver at all.
So, Oliver had to take matters into his own hands and use the golden mana.
As he dived deeper, the acid swiftly corroded the golden mana layer, almost eating into his blood armour. He had to replenish the mana to dive deeper.
Along the way, he stumbled and slammed against bone fragments and chunks of meat that had yet to be digested.
Ignoring that, he picked up his speed and swam faster.
In a second or two, the armour of his would disappear.
He had to hurry.
*Grunts*
With a final push, he swam down faster and found the opening leading to the small intestine.
Without hesitation, he entered it.
