Blood Nemesis
Chapter 195: Thank God he didn’t
CHAPTER 195: THANK GOD HE DIDN’T
The elder, Kim Yuna, Patriarch, or anyone else had enough time to talk before their phones chimed together.
A message from the security team was sent, informing them about a Behemoth that was approaching their family compound.
Yuna instantly knew who it was.
She glanced over to the patriarch’s side.
"Quickly, bring him here." He ordered.
Instantly, Yuna understood what he meant.
They can’t let Oliver rot inside the mana beast storage facility.
They had to bring him back.
And regarding the injured leg, they must bring a healer to quickly heal it as well.
Fearing the Thunder Emperor would be offended, the patriarch gave the order to bring back Oliver.
"Okay." Yuna nodded and decided to leave.
However, the elder who imprisoned Oliver was unaware of what was happening.
He stood in front of Yuna, blocking her.
"Where are you going? Are you trying to free the brat called Oliver?" He asked, with apparent anger in his voice.
His family members were overreacting.
He just punished a young man for the crimes he committed.
Why were they being so cautious?
Who was this Golden fiend?
He wanted to know.
And what does his brother mean by saying he will know soon enough?
The few seconds he blocked Yuna were all it took for the giant airship to fly over and hover above the main house.
They sensed the change in mana as the gravity engine of the airship continued to work.
"Come with me, everyone. Yuna, you too. You are the only one who knows Oliver." The patriarch ordered and walked swiftly out of the building to welcome the Thunder Emperor.
"You will know the problem you caused." He said to his brother.
They swiftly walked out of the building.
–
A few hundred meters above, in the mild darkness of dusk, they saw the behemoth.
It was churning the mana in the atmosphere as it floated gently.
From it, a floating platform descended, carrying two people.
One was the Thunder Emperor, the other was Achara.
They expected to meet Oliver as soon as they came down.
But instead of him, there were a couple of other people waiting.
"Hm...The patriarch was home." The Thunder Emperor alighted from the disc-shaped floating platform and asked.
He was wearing a pleasant smile as he spoke.
Today, he came here to support Oliver.
He had heard about the situation from Oliver and knew what had happened, as well as about the pregnancy.
He didn’t want to escalate the problem due to the bad attitude.
Seeing his jovial appearance, the patriarch quickly walked forward.
"Ah! Thunder Emperor. You could have called before coming."
"I thought Oliver would have mentioned it."
"He did...he did..."
The patriarch extended his hand.
Just from seniority alone, the Thunder Emperor stood above the Kim family head.
When you compare personal strength, they were in a totally different league.
So, he had to be respectful.
The Thunder Emperor grasped the extended hand and shook it amicably.
"Where is he?" He asked shortly after.
As the question was being asked, the elder who locked up Oliver felt a chill go down his spine.
The patriarch smiled wryly and replied.
"There were some misunderstandings..."
"What happened?" Before he could complete his sentence, the Thunder Emperor asked.
"I..." The patriarch looked to his side. His brother was still standing behind him. "The great-grandchildren of mine offended Oliver. They had a duel, and as a result, because of a misunderstanding, he ended up being detained."
The patriarch glossed over the details and tried to inform the Thunder Emperor of what had transpired.
However, instead of showing anger or worry, the Thunder Emperor showed a compassionate gaze.
"Did he kill someone?" He asked softly.
"No, we would never kill a young man, that too, guest." The patriarch promptly denied the accusation.
"No, I didn’t ask if you killed him. I asked whether my disciple killed your people."
The Thunder Emperor quickly corrected the patriarch.
"Eh?"
"Eh!"
An exclamation of confusion and shock escaped, betraying the patriarch’s true feelings.
"My disciple can be a handful. If he did something that offended you, please forgive." Thunder Emperor added.
Finally, realising that he hadn’t misheard, the patriarch shook his head.
"No, no...no. No one killed anyone. It was just a misunderstanding, nothing more."
"Thank God he didn’t." Thunder Emperor was relieved to know that.
Thereafter, the patriarch stood next to the Thunder Emperor and filled him in on the details.
Once he heard it, the Thunder Emperor glanced at Achara, who was standing next to him.
"What do you think?" He asked.
"He maimed someone an hour after getting here. It’s Oliver. No doubt about it. But he was captured and brought somewhere else to be imprisoned—that’s hard to believe."
"I think so too. Unless he wants to be caught, he wouldn’t be."
"Perhaps he was being respectful." Achara mused aloud.
"Perhaps..."
Oliver was capable of escaping from an S-rank demon. He has tricks up his sleeve that none of them knew.
So, him, being caught was difficult to believe.
"Anyway, let’s bring him here." The Thunder Emperor casually waved his hand in front of the dazed patriarch and said.
"Yes."
The patriarch motioned to Yuna and asked her to bring Oliver to the study.
At the same time, he wondered whether the information he had just heard was correct.
Escaping from the clutches of an S-rank demon.
Was this Oliver that strong?
Oliver was an eighteen year old young man. If he were that strong, how strong would he become?
The thought of marrying someone to the young man came to his mind again.
Meanwhile, a group slowly formed outside the Kim family’s main house.
Everyone was looking at the sky, imprinting the image of the behemoth in their mind.
Although the Kim family was strong, they still couldn’t afford a behemoth.
It was a symbol of status and power.
Everyone wondered which guest had arrived flying a behemoth.
—--
A kilometre away from the main house, in the underground facility that held the mana beasts.
Yuna dashed into the building and climbed down the floor where they had kept Oliver.
Immediately, a foul smell assaulted her nose.
The mana beasts were kept inside compartmentalised cells, similar to prison cells.
The foul smell was the smell of urine and feces.
On either side of the corridor leading to the cell where Oliver was kept, she saw hundreds of mana beasts, varying in shape and size.
At the deeper end, she even saw an A-ranked mana beast.
All of them were chained to the wall after sealing their mana.
However, as she moved deeper into the facility, she noticed something amiss.
Most of the mana beasts were asleep, and the ones which was awake looked drowsy.
Though sealing mana would make the mana beast controllable, they were not supposed to be this docile.
Just her presence should have woken them up and made them rattle their chains in protest.
And yet, none of the mana beasts were moving.
Despite growing wariness in her heart, she ignored it and dashed to the cell where Oliver was kept.
A while later, she reached the position.
There, he saw a young man sitting on the cold floor, drawing circles with blood.
The blood was his own.
He was creating intricate runes by chaining together the circles, showing an eerie calmness.
The moment he heard Yuna’s footsteps, he paused and looked up.
"Ah! Miss Yuna, what brings you here?"
With a pleasant smile, he asked.
Once his gaze fell on her, she felt as though bloody hands were wrapping around her neck.
*Gulp*
Her mouth became dry as an almost instinctual fear of death swallowed her.
