Blood Nemesis
Chapter 196: Free
CHAPTER 196: FREE
"Miss Yuna?" Oliver tilted his head and called out again.
Yuna, drowning in fear, suddenly felt relieved, realising that the negative intentions churning in Oliver’s mind were not directed at her.
This allowed her to break out of her stupor.
"Yes." She replied.
Oliver stood up, hearing the reply.
The prison cells he was in were designed to imprison a C-ranked mana beast. It was dark, damp and humid with barely any light.
Oliver’s legs were chained to the cell’s back wall with reinforced metal that could disrupt mana flow.
As he was standing up, the metal chains rattled and clanked.
"Are you here to bring me out of this place?" Oliver asked with an amused expression. "Did my master arrive?"
"Yes." Yuna promptly said as she slowly and cautiously closed in on the cell.
Seeing her scared, Oliver realised his mistake.
Yuna could feel his emotions.
Usually, he would have hidden all his thoughts to help her.
But the prison cell was taking him down a memory lane he wished to never revisit.
The years he spent in the Abyss were still fresh in his mind. The pain and suffering during the time slowly reemerged as he spent more time in the prison cell.
This made him think about his revenge plans in detail.
Yuna seemed to have sensed his murderous intentions as he was thinking.
"Yuna, it’s time I come out, right?"
Oliver asked and walked forward.
The metal chains as wide as a human arm clanked as he briskly walked to the metal bars separating him from the outside.
When he reached the metal bars, Yuna wanted to step forward and open the door.
However, before she could do that, Oliver abruptly grabbed two metal bars before him.
*Swish*
A golden flash of light erupted from his body.
Yuna closed her eyes for a second.
By the time she opened it, she saw Oliver walking out calmly.
The metal bars behind him were twisted and tied into a butterfly knot. The metal chains that were supposed to be tied around his ankle were flung back, with parts entirely shattered.
After walking out shockingly, Oliver stood in front of Yuna and simply said, "Let’s leave."
His voice was calm and peaceful.
The blood thirsty, nefarious aura he had seemed to have disappeared entirely in the last few seconds.
"Yes."
Yuna absentmindedly nodded.
Then she remembered what the Thunder Emperor had said a few minutes ago.
Oliver was supposedly someone capable of escaping from an S-rank demon.
He was far stronger than they could imagine.
The reason he was detained was because he let them detain them.
If Oliver wanted to leave, no one could have stopped him.
All the above thoughts rushed together in her mind, reinforcing the idea of not offending him.
As someone who worked closely with her uncle, the current leader and S-rank superhuman of the Nova Rift, she had an idea about the power of an S-rank.
From the mental image she observed while trying to peer into Oliver’s mind, she knew Oliver was an anomaly, similar to her uncle.
While the SMB graded him as a D-rank superhuman with D-grade talent, she believed he was something far different.
Now, she had proof that her belief was correct.
The way he twisted reinforced metal, which disrupted mana flow with his bare hands, spoke volumes about his strength.
"Then, after you." Oliver lifted his hand, ushering her to the exit.
"Hm..." Yuna nodded and walked forward.
Along the way, once again, she noticed the lethargic mana beasts inside the facility.
They looked as if their vitality was drained out of them.
Some even looked a little anaemic.
Although she felt their appearance suspicious, she brought Oliver out of the underground facility.
Just as Oliver exited the underground facility, the mana beast opened their eyes and lay on the ground, relieved.
The devil that drained their blood had disappeared.
Even though they were captured and were being stored in a dark underground prison, they felt a little better knowing their blood would not be drained again.
For the past few minutes, Oliver had drained the beast’s blood to refill his blood sac.
He had gone over the entire prison, drilling tiny tendrils of blood into the bodies of the helpless beasts to recover.
So, the mana beasts within the underground facility had developed an instinctual fear of him.
As he left, they felt relieved and slept to regenerate their blood.
—
Oliver reached the main house of the Kim family a few minutes after leaving the underground facility that held mana beasts.
He and Yuna promptly entered the study room where Thunder Emperor was being received.
*Clack*
The door opened, revealing the Thunder Emperor and Achara sitting on one side and the patriarch, the elder, and Kim Jiah’s father sitting on the other side.
Oliver was familiar with the elders but didn’t know Hyungho was Kim Jiah’s father.
Oliver strolled to the Thunder Emperor’s side, ignoring the Kim family members.
"Thunder Gramps, you could have come a little early." He said and sat next to him.
The Thunder Emperor grimaced.
"Brat, show me some respect in front of other people. I am your master."
He complained silently.
However, everyone else in the room could hear him.
"You were too late. You don’t deserve my respect." Oliver raised his eyebrow.
"Ah! Sigh." The Thunder Emperor rubbed his forehead. "Anyway, I heard you duelled someone and seriously injured them."
"Yes, something like that did happen." Oliver eyed the elder who detained him while speaking. "But, I didn’t injure him beyond what could be healed. In fact, I went easy on him."
Then he turned to look at the patriarch.
"I heard the Kim family is rich. They can afford the stem cell therapy and medicines, right?"
The patriarch smiled and nodded.
Yes, the injury was something that could be healed. They had no reason to argue over that.
"Now that we have introduced ourselves, let’s move on to the reason why I came here," Oliver suggested. "I want to meet Kim Jiah and speak with her."
Oliver said directly.
