Bloodline of the Wizard
Chapter 411 - 193 Selena, Rejection_3
CHAPTER 411: CHAPTER 193 SELENA, REJECTION_3
Moments later, Ronan lifted his head and said thoughtfully, "Is it because of Grace?"
This question seemed like a meaningless repetition, as Selena had just mentioned that it was not solely because of Grace.
However, when Ronan brought up Grace again, Selena nodded.
"You’re a smart man."
Selena’s tone seemed to soften a bit, "Grace is very important to me, in ways you cannot comprehend.
And you are important to Grace. She is very lonely... You understand what I mean, right?"
"I understand."
Ronan nodded, "So Grace is responsible for keeping you company, and I am responsible for being Grace’s companion?"
Selena seemed to pick up on something in Ronan’s words that made her slightly uncomfortable, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
Selena frowned and said calmly, "You can temporarily think of it that way, but what I actually mean is not as indifferent as you might imagine....
I can facilitate a bond between you and Grace, ensuring that one day you both may ascend to Dawn together.
Your Talent is good, and if fully developed, you could reach great heights in the future.
But if you stay in the Southern region, I can assure you that everything will be greatly diminished...."
"...If you harbor ambitions of advancing to Dawn before the age of a hundred, given your current Strength, status, and background, it’s nearly an impossible goal.
The most important step to break through the Mist and master Dawn is the deep purification of spiritual power and soul power, and many Level 3 wizards with outstanding talent and wisdom are stuck at this step.
It’s not that they aren’t extraordinary, but rather they lack the proper legacy...."
As she spoke, Selena extended her right hand, and a soft white light bloomed between her pale, delicate fingers, revealing a floating Rune Stone within the glow.
"And here, I have such a legacy.
To pierce through the Mist, to achieve Dawn, to nurture Elemental Spirits... every phase you’ll go through in the future will require this secret technique of purifying spiritual and soul power..."
"Is there no Magic Ring?"
Ronan suddenly interrupted Selena.
"Of course there are All-Purpose Magic Rings."
Selena gave Ronan a glance and said indifferently, "But that would require you to pay a greater price, to prove your value more diligently, and besides... the secret technique you would ultimately obtain might not compare to what I have here..."
"This is a decision about your future.
I can tell you plainly that, after reaching Dawn, the strength of a wizard is largely dependent on the Grade of their Elemental Spirit. The Grade of the Elemental Spirit determines your potential to climb higher, and it is in turn determined by the quality of your spiritual and soul power....
Maybe the threshold from Level 3 to Level 4 won’t stop you, but after Level 4, you will feel that, without certain things, every step up is incredibly difficult...
Think about it carefully, Damien."
Ronan fell silent amidst Selena’s words.
The spacious and magnificent hall fell into brief silence, everything seemed to stand still, except for the dust motes silently drifting within the beam of light at the center.
A moment later, Ronan spoke.
"I have made my decision."
A hint of satisfaction appeared in Selena’s eyes.
...
Ten minutes later, Ronan walked out of the beautiful white cottage.
His expression was calm, his face betraying no emotion, just as it had been when he entered.
However, he had barely walked far from the cottage when a figure stopped him in his tracks.
"If you think that bonding with Grace will earn Princess Selena’s favor... that would be nothing but wishful thinking."
Young Wizard Donny, dressed in a moon-white Magic Robe with a gloomy expression, stood in front of Ronan, speaking with a sneer.
"Oh?"
Ronan stopped, looked at him with a calm expression, and said, "So should I relinquish this opportunity for rapid ascent to you?"
Young Wizard Donny was taken aback and after half a breath, his handsome face showed a fury born of embarrassment, as if Ronan had openly pierced through something.
"Irksome brat!"
A powerful surge of a Level 3 wizard’s spiritual power erupted from Donny, and the air around him seemed to be emptied in an instant. Ronan stood still before him, his forelock and Magic Robe being blown about by the sudden gust.
"Donny!"
A sharp reprimand came from not far away, Donny’s aura abruptly stalled, then slowly retracted.
He gave Ronan a deep look and silently moved aside.
Ronan turned and met the placid gaze of the Silver-haired Witch.
He nodded to her slightly, indifferent to whether she responded or not, and continued forward, soon disappearing behind the contour of a distant mound.
The Silver-haired Witch watched Ronan depart until his figure was no longer visible; then she pushed the door open and entered the cottage.
It was the same spacious and magnificent palace, with the noble and pure Selena standing on the steps, her gaze focused intently on her right hand, wrapped in strands of golden light.
"Your Highness."
The Silver-haired Witch bowed respectfully to Selena, who gave a slight nod, and after a moment’s hesitation, the witch spoke softly, "That Southern wizard... he refused?"
"Yes."
Selena nodded faintly, her face as serene and flawless as porcelain.
"His soul age has not exceeded thirty, he is about to advance to Level 3, and his foundation is quite solid. Even the means he possesses are sufficient to withstand a casual strike from Molli’er... Such Talent might be unimpressive in the Central region, but in the Southern region, it truly stands out. It’s normal for him to have a bit of arrogance..."
