CHAPTER 55: YOU ARE NOT PART OF MORGAN’S!

Noah glanced at Jason and informed their plan for the day: a visit to Golden Phoenix Tower.

"How about me? Can I follow you guys!?"

Alicia suddenly interrupted them, aware that her brother and Jason would leave her alone in this huge house where she didn’t know anyone.

Noah was puzzled about how to answer her, as he knew he couldn’t bring anyone there, including Alicia. Meanwhile, Jason was responsible for his security details and related to his system.

"Alice, we won’t be gone for long. You can familiarize yourself with this house," Noah answered.

"But—" Alicia can’t continue her words; she worries that her brother’s situation has stalled or worse because of her.

"No worries, little Alice. I will accompany you." Suddenly, Matthew’s voice could be heard from the doorway. "I need to update you about your colleague’s plan." He added that when they all see him.

"Y-Yes, Uncle Matthew. I’m looking forward to it!"

Alicia smiled as she gazed at Matthew. She was eager to hear about his plans, especially since the deadline for admission to her desired university was fast approaching.

’Thank you, Matthew!’ Noah communicated with him through their mind link.

’No problem, sir. But there’s something you need to know. In two days, you need to visit the Morgan family’s house.’

Noah was shocked.

...

Two days later.

Noah felt anxious about meeting his father’s family. He wasn’t sure what to expect there, but Edgar, who was with him, reassured him that he would be fine.

"Sir, relax..." Edgar’s voice pulled Noah from his nervous thoughts; he looked at him and saw that he was still focused on the street ahead.

Noah hesitated to speak, but Edgar interrupted, saying, "Just avoid talking about your father’s true condition. And you will be just fine."

"I understand!" Noah quickly responded, then tried to steady his nerves.

Noah was confident he could handle everything; his mental strength had grown stronger.

Before long,

They finally enter the grounds of Graystone’s family villa. From a distance, Noah can see a three-story mid-century modern house guarded by a guard positioned in a specific area.

"Sir, this is your grandparents’ house, where your first uncle lives with them." Edgar started to explain while Noah listened in silence.

"Other family members also have homes within this family compound. Your father, too, has a house in the area but rarely stays there. The house often remains empty, with only a few staff members taking care of it. Oh, looks like they have already arrived."

Edgar parked the vehicle and turned off the engine. "Are you ready, sir?"

"Edgar, could you talk to me through my mind?" Noah asked as he stepped out of the car and headed toward the main entrance.

"I can’t do that, sir..." Edgar replied, glancing at him. Noticing his surprise has made him smile.

Noah was stunned. He expected Edgar to be the same as Matthew, as they could communicate through their minds, but he was wrong.

"It seems your loyalty to me is not one hundred percent, huh?" Noah asked. This is the only reason that makes sense to him now.

"We are not entirely bound because my utmost loyalty is still attached to your dad. Once I stop serving him, I will have the same ability as Matthew..."

"Ah, I see. I forgot about that," Noah responded, following Edgar into the house.

No one greeted them, which made Noah curious and nervous at the same time about meeting these people.

He learned from Edgar that his father, Anderson Morgan, had four siblings: two brothers and two sisters. Among the siblings, the first and third siblings were boys, while the fourth and fifth were girls. Anderson was the second child in the family. This family has a large extended family, with nearly twenty cousins.

As they walked toward the living room, a butler suddenly appeared, leading them into the expansive space resembling a grand lounge.

When they finally walked near the seating area, six pairs of eyes turned toward them, and from their expressions, Noah could sense their unspoken thoughts: doubt.

Noah ignored their expressions, focusing instead on their facial features to check if he resembled them. However, he only found similarities in their hair and eye color.

"Edgar, it’s wonderful to see you finally arrived..." Alexander Morgan, the head of the household, smiled warmly at Edgar before shifting his attention to Noah.

"And this young man must be..." Alexander Morgan paused, seemingly hesitant to complete what he wanted to say, reluctant to acknowledge that the young man before Edgar was his grandson.

"Mr. Morgan, I apologize for the delay, Sir," Edgar said while slightly bowing his head in respect as he approached Alexander Morgan, stopping a few steps away from the seating area.

Edgar quickly looked at Noah before warmly adding, "Sir, this is Mr. Noah Morgan, Master Anderson’s only son." Although he spoke calmly, it was clear that every Morgan in the room except Noah expressed a mix of arrogance, disgust, and anger.

"No way! How can this young man possibly be my nephew? He looks nothing like Brother Anderson. Well, maybe just his eyes...a little," Jared Morgan, the third son, expressed annoyance. "You are not Morgan!"

"Jared, look at his hair. He has the same colour as us..." Tanya Morgan, the younger daughter, adds. She offers Noah a smile, but her smile lacks sincerity.

"I’m sorry, little man, we’re just trying to understand your existence here. We have never heard of Anderson having a wife because he never married. How could he possibly have a son now?" Andrew Morgan, the eldest son, said, gazing intently at Noah.

Rachel Morgan, the first daughter, shares her thoughts playfully. "But Brother Andrew, what if Brother Anderson has a girlfriend, and she got pregnant?" she chuckled, a smile lighting up her face. "Well, let’s ask this young man to conduct a DNA test, shall we?"

"Yeah, what sister Rachel said is true..." Tanya nods her head, but doubt still lingers in her eyes. "Young man, are you ready to do a DNA test?"

"Alright, enough!"
