CHAPTER 1971: CHAPTER 632: SWEEPING THROUGH THOUSANDS OF TROOPS (PART 2)
Fawkes stood atop the high crystal chariot, glaring fiercely and wagging his finger at a Wolf Tribe Scepter Shaman who was hurriedly chanting the "Spirit Communication Battle Song," preparing to summon the "Purity Light," signaling him not to meddle.
This Scepter Shaman belonged to the Northeast Temple and was originally just watching the spectacle. However, when he saw that the Summer Palace guards had only sent a young priest to exclusively handle the aura blessings for these more than 800 Antelope Warriors, his professional instincts kicked in—this young Cambridge priest, right from the start, gave the Antelope Warriors a Berserk blessing. In the eyes of this Wolf Tribe Scepter Shaman, it was sheer nonsense. Not casting "Purity Light" before bestowing Berserk, without even considering the chance of the army prematurely going into a wild frenzy, just the severe Berserk aftereffects alone could be enough to cause the frailer Bimon warriors to faint dead away, unable to bear it.
There were many Altar Sacrificial Ceremonies thinking the same as this Scepter Shaman, but they were smart enough not to interfere recklessly.
The Summer Palace heavy infantry regiment advanced in large strides, slowly closing in on the Mulan scouts huddled on the drawbridge, unable to move. These tall and imposing Antelope Warriors, despite the Berserk blessing, did not reach the brink of mental collapse. Under the golden double-crowned battle helmets, their eyes, though bloodshot, still shone with the clear light of intelligence. Their breaths were mighty yet did not cause the golden nose rings to jangle loudly.
"Vaiir!" A bellow erupted from an Antelope officer wielding a Dragon Bone battle shield, and all the Antelope Warriors in the front row released the metal totem poles resting on their shoulders. With a resounding "boom," they assumed the starting position for a forward thrust, the pole tips, imbued with the aura of the Divine Song, all pointing uniformly at the faces of the Mulan scouts.
All Bimon martial techniques have a starting gesture. The totem poles of the Buer Tribe fall under the category of heavy weapons. Once the forward thrust starting gesture is assumed, the attack launches with an upward sweep of the hand, pulling the pole bottom into an arc and ferociously striking down onto the enemy from above. This starting gesture integrates blocking and attacking, straightforward yet powerful and fierce.
Seeing a row of metal pillars thicker than palm trees aimed at their heads, the leading Mulan scouts could no longer withstand the pressure. They lacked the courage to face these Bimon giants at such a close range. Even the largest Camel people in the desert Bonita couldn’t match these Bimon. Meeting such giants in a narrow path, even the bravest Mojie would be frightened.
All the vanguard Mulan scouts "thud thud" jumped into the moat, leaving these silent metal fortresses for their comrades behind to deal with.
A dull "wuu wuu" sound sliced through the air, and suddenly the sky was filled with many red kites.
The orderly advancing Antelope Warriors commenced mechanical slaughter. Each time they lifted their totem poles, standing tall like a forest, cascades of shredded meat and severed limbs would soar skyward. Harrowing screams, the rupture of flesh, and the chaotic noise of metal clashing burst into an overwhelming eruption from the once silent and still atmosphere.
Wherever the Antelope Warriors traversed, all blockers before them turned to dust.
The gaps between the drawbridge’s planks seemed fitted with countless faucets, pouring streams of blood waterfalls into the moat below.
Even the tall and robust Lantsang Camels would crumble under the thunderous blows of the metal totem poles; as for the Mulanese, if struck by a totem pole, even with the protection of a Turtle Shell Steel Shield, they would be sent flying with a "clang!"
This battle was an absolute sweeping sweep. Every time the Antelope Warriors wielded their totem poles, it wasn’t merely about knocking down one or two opponents. Instead, with each swing, they could clear out an entire blank area!
The disparity in strength and loss of morale left the Mulan scouts like chicks ravaged by a pack of wolves. Their proud Uzi Curved Knives shattered into steel fragments before the Totem Pillar of War Songs, and unarmored bodies, under the storm-like force of metal collisions, soared into the sky like fireworks, erupting brilliantly.
"Evaluate the battle situation, my Nixia," Fawkes half-squatted on the crystal chariot, sidelong glancing at the hurriedly arriving Brat, the red-robed High Priest.
The old lizard grinned, stunned for a good while, finally murmuring, "Advancing like a forest, everything in the way swept aside!"
Fawkes grinned widely, thinking how eloquent this red-robed High Priest was in giving such apt praise.
A succession of golden shimmering totem poles seemed to respond to the High Priest Nixia’s compliments, as with every step the Antelope Warriors took, they continuously unleashed torrents of blood like the opening of floodgates.
In the moat of Witherspoon, ripples shimmered, and the drizzle descending from the sky dyed chains of deep red, spreading out far in the river.
General Reyes finally snapped back to reality, pacing endlessly in the castle gate tunnel, like a wind-up puppet.
"Still worried, aren’t you?" Fawkes amusingly looked at this General Fawkes.
"Damn you! You even cut the drawbridge chains!" General Reyes gritted his teeth, cursing, "When the main Mulanese force arrives, what are we at Witherspoon supposed to do?"
"Can’t close the drawbridge, but can we not shut the gate?" Fawkes chuckled coldly, "You think I’m a fool? Go and cut the drawbridge chains in a moment of insanity? Fawkes, today I’m going to give you a good lesson, show you how we Summer Palace guards can totally demoralize the Mulanese!"
