CHAPTER 241: SHOCKED MIRA (PART 1)
"Were you saying something?"
As Azrael’s voice echoed through the chamber, an eerie silence fell over the entire place.
Whether it was the Legend-rank warrior, the members of the security forces, or Elyara and Luo Bingqing, all of them stared at Azrael, or to be precise, at the Tyrant’s Intent radiating from him, their mouths agape in shock.
"An intent..." Luo Bingqing muttered in disbelief. "He has already comprehended an Intent."
Elyara was equally stunned, and when she felt the tyrannical force emanating from Azrael’s intent, as though it sought to destroy everything in existence, she instantly realized that the intent he had comprehended was anything but weak.
A flicker of frustration crossed both Elyara’s and Luo Bingqing’s faces as they wondered just how powerful Azrael truly was.
Morak, the level 64 Legend-rank warrior, stared at the crimson aura surrounding Azrael, which was slowly fading away, his thoughts in utter turmoil.
’How could this be? Even at my current level, I still haven’t managed to comprehend an intent, and yet you are telling me that a class-level warrior has already achieved it?’ He screamed inwardly, feeling deeply shaken.
While the Legend-rank warrior was lost in shock, Azrael was quietly thinking about what he should do next.
He wasn’t afraid of Morak as despite the man’s rank, he had several trump cards that could easily deal with him.
However, Azrael felt that using those means against a Legend-rank warrior would be a waste, so if possible, he preferred to resolve the matter another way.
His mind raced rapidly, and under the effects of True Focus and Infinite Comprehension, he soon came up with a plan.
By this time, Morak had also regained his composure and fixed his sharp gaze on Azrael.
"I asked you to stop. Then why did you kill him?"
"Did you?" Azrael asked, feigning confusion. "I don’t remember you asking me to stop."
Morak’s eyes narrowed at Azrael’s nonchalant attitude and he looked at him deeply.
Azrael, however, didn’t care about his look and asked sharply. "By the way, who are you?"
Morak continued to star at Azrael, saying nothing as his eyes swept over the Eclipse Mantle fluttering behind Azrael and the Fallen Star resting in his hand.
For an instant, as he looked at those items, a strange glint flickered in his eyes, but he quickly concealed it.
"I am Morak Felton," He finally said in a deep voice. "I am in charge of the security forces across the entire Flato Solar System."
He turned his gaze toward the entrance of the Ancient Ruins, which was already half-closed, then glanced back at Harin’s lifeless body lying on the ground. "I think there are a lot of things you need to explain to me."
Azrael sneered inwardly when he noticed the greedy glint in Morak’s eyes earlier.
But his expression remained calm as he replied flatly.
"I don’t think I need to explain anything to you, especially considering what you have done."
Morak’s eyes narrowed. "What do you me—"
Before he could finish speaking, the smart band on Azrael’s wrist lit up, projecting a holographic image of a woman before him.
’Took her quite some time to answer the call...’ Azrael thought as he looked at the brown-haired woman, wearing reading glasses who appeared before him
"You are out of the ruins?" Mira asked calmly, her eyes scanning Azrael carefully.
"Yes, Vice Principal," Azrael nodded before pointing toward Luo Bingqing and Elyara, who were still frozen due to Morak’s pressure. "Luo Bingqing and Elyara are also fine."
Mira turned in the direction Azrael indicated, and when she saw Luo Bingqing and Elyara sitting on the ground, unable to move, a deep frown formed on her face.
She also noticed the massive crater covering the ground and the anxious expressions of the surrounding people.
"What happened?" She asked in a serious tone.
Azrael glanced at Morak from the corner of his eye. Seeing the man momentarily frozen in shock upon recognizing Mira, he smirked inwardly before speaking.
"The security forces of the Flato Solar System have been working with the Transcendent Organization," He said evenly. "When we discovered this, they tried to kill us. Even Morak Felton, the one supposedly in charge of the security forces is working with them."
"What?!" Morak snapped out of his daze upon hearing Azrael’s words and roared furiously, "What nonsense are you talking about?!"
Mira gave Morak an indifferent glance, and instantly, his body stiffened, as though an invisible mountain had been placed upon his back and he couldn’t move an inch.
At the same time, the restraints binding Luo Bingqing and Elyara vanished, allowing them to move again.
Azrael observed the situation calmly, though inwardly, he was genuinely astonished.
’So this is the power of having a True Name...’ He thought, recalling how Ashara once told him that when a person reached a certain level and possessed a True Name, their very will could suppress those of a lower level, even through a projection.
"Keep quiet for now," Mira said calmly to Morak before turning her gaze back to Azrael, gesturing for him to continue.
Azrael nodded slightly and began to recount his version of events.
He explained that after they had wiped out the members of the Transcendent Organization at the hideout, neither he, Luo Bingqing, nor Elyara found any of the kidnapped victims. When they continued to search, they discovered the entrance to the Ancient Ruins.
After notifying the security forces about the discovery, the three of them decided to enter the ruins themselves, fearing that the kidnapped individuals might be in danger.
From there, Azrael recounted everything that had happened inside, the perilous blood and corpse filled environment, the monsters they encountered, and how they eventually reached the core area of the ruins.
"But once we reached near the core area," Azrael continued, his tone darkening, "We encountered members of the security forces who had entered after us. We thought we could finally relax and not worry about the monsters anymore. But..." His gaze turned toward Morak, his eyes gleaming with coldness.
"The moment the security forces saw us, they attacked without warning and tried to capture us. Because of their sudden assault, all three of us were injured, and to escape, I had no choice but to use a Star-level defensive prop that my mom had given me."
Mira’s expression shifted slightly upon hearing this, and the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but twitch, as the very idea of using a Star-level prop to escape from Epic-level warriors was quite absurd in her opinion.
But Azrael did not care about her expression and continued without pause.
"After barely escaping with the help of the Star-level prop and healing ourselves, we discussed our next move and despite being attacked by the security forces, we decided not to retreat and continued searching for the kidnapped victims."
At this point, Azrael’s eyes glinted with icy fury as he looked directly at Morak.
"It was then, when we entered the core area that we discovered the true face of the security forces... and the real reason they attacked us."
