CHAPTER 256: EPIC RANK (PART 3)

(Hidden Task — Successfully simulate Your Bloodline has been completed)

(Reward: 100,000 Task Points)

=====

Azrael read the sudden notification and frowned deeply.

It wasn’t the first time he had seen a notification stating that he had completed a hidden task.

He had received similar ones before, once after successfully avoiding detection by the person responsible for the Galactic Eclipse phenomenon, and another when he passed Eonrift’s Trial with a perfect rating.

But both of those times, he had received his rewards immediately.

If he had received these one hundred thousand task points right after awakening his bloodline, Azrael wouldn’t have thought too much about it.

However, he had obtained his bloodline several days ago, yet the reward had only appeared now.

When he compared this to the fact that he hadn’t immediately received the Causality Points after killing Boris, but instead, they had appeared a few days later, he couldn’t help but feel that something was wrong.

’It’s as if, for some reason, whatever gives me these rewards couldn’t do so immediately after I completed the task... and had to delay it for a few days,’ He thought with a deep frown, wondering what could possibly cause such a delay.

He recalled his earlier speculation that his rewards and even the items in the shop might originate from Eonrift itself and fell into deep contemplation.

’Eonrift... Could it be because of the Blood Moon Phase currently affecting the entire realm?’ He suddenly thought, his eyes narrowing slightly.

He only had a basic understanding of the Blood Moon, he knew it made people go berserk, but he wasn’t sure about the specifics.

He didn’t know what caused the phenomenon or whether it was natural or artificial.

’If it isn’t a natural phenomenon and is instead caused by some powerful individual, could it be that the delay in my rewards is because whatever gives me those rewards is trying to avoid that individual’s notice?’

As that thought crossed his mind, Azrael felt a faint sense of dread. If that were true, then it was possible that, just like the person behind the Galactic Eclipse, this individual was also searching for him.

’Just what the hell is going on?’ He thought in frustration, recalling how even Nalvadir had refused to speak about such beings, warning that if he even tried to mention them, they would be able to locate him instantly.

Azrael took a few deep breaths to calm himself, gradually regaining his composure.

"All of this is just my speculation. It’s entirely possible that the delay happened for a completely different reason. There is no need to make things more complicated," He muttered to himself, pushing the thought aside and turning his attention back to his status window.

---) Task Points: 134,045

"Now that I have got a lot more task points, maybe I can buy some powerful and rare attributes or runes," He said thoughtfully.

Azrael scrolled through the shop, his eyes gleaming with interest as he came across several rare attributes.

====

---) Runic Attribute: Upon embedding this attribute, your power will carry low-level original symbols of existence. Through this attribute, you can inscribe runes in midair using your power that trigger effects of destruction, sealing, or transformation etc.

(Price: 150,000 Task Points)

====

---) Karmic Attribute: Every action carries an inevitable consequence. Upon embedding this attribute, your power embodies that universal law. Those who harm you are automatically struck by equal damage, your power enforces karmic balance.

Note: To return equal damage, the Karmic Attribute consumes your own energy. If your energy is insufficient, it will use your life force instead. The karmic attribute is invalid against individuals three ranks above you. Embed this rune wisely.

(Price: 1,000,000 Task Points)

====

---) Dream Attribute: Your power carries fragments of dreams—...

(Price: 89,000 Task Points)

---) Mind Attribute: Your power carries psychic intent—...

(Price: 65,000 Task Points)

====

Azrael read through the details of the many rare attributes, and when he saw the prices of some of them, his eye twitched involuntarily.

"Damn, I am still quite poor..." He muttered under his breath.

Though he tried to laugh it off, he couldn’t hide the trace of discouragement in his tone.

But he soon shook his head and stopped thinking about it.

Even though he couldn’t afford most of the rare attributes for now as their prices were simply too high, he wasn’t overly disappointed.

He knew he would have more opportunities to embed additional attributes in the future as his strength continued to advance. And once he accumulated enough task points, he would be able to embed those rare attributes as well.

After reviewing the attributes that caught his attention, Azrael used his Infinite Comprehension trait to analyze them all and determine which would be most beneficial to him.

Eventually, his gaze stopped on one particular attribute.

"Although it’s slightly expensive, it’s the best option for me right now," He muttered decisively and made up his mind.

Since the attribute he had chosen was rather costly, he would be left with only a few thousand task points afterward.

Because of that, he didn’t bother looking at the runes section, knowing he wouldn’t be able to afford any powerful ones for the moment.

’Well, I guess I will have to use academic credits to get a good rune,’ He thought, planning to sell some of the valuable items he had obtained from Planet Fras to increase his credits.

After making up his mind about which attribute to purchase, Azrael closed his status window and finished the rest of his meal.

"Let’s try to reach the entry level in the Eye of the Eternal Storm Essentia Art before Oliver sends me the potion and the materials needed for the Unyielding Body..." Azrael said to himself before standing up and heading toward the Enlightenment Room on the second floor of his mansion.

Without much incident, two days passed in the blink of an eye... And finally, Azrael received a message from Oliver, informing him that he had gathered all the materials he had requested.
