CHAPTER 305: CHAPTER 305: DADDY’S MONEY

"The engagement ended. I made it clear to everyone that it was just a business agreement. And just to be safe, I also kept a recording... a recording where you admitted there were no feelings between us. That it was all for show."

Isabella’s eyes widened in shock. "You... you recorded me?"

"Yes," Spencer said coldly. "Because I knew one day you might come back and try something like this. I wanted to be ready."

"You’re unbelievable," Isabella whispered, her voice shaking a little. "How could you do that to me?"

Spencer let out a dry chuckle. "You know," he said, looking at Isabella with an amused expression, "if I didn’t know better, I’d think you were my actual girlfriend."

Then his voice turned calm and cold.

"But let’s be clear, Isabella. I don’t owe you anything. You helped me rise in position, and I helped you get to the top too. We both used each other. That’s all it ever was."

Isabella’s eyes darkened. Her hands clenched into fists as she glared at Spencer. Her voice dripped with anger.

"I don’t understand why you’re mingling with such a lower-grade human."

Aurora’s eyes narrowed. She turned to Isabella, her voice steady. "And who exactly are you calling lower-grade?"

Isabella met her gaze without hesitation. "You, obviously," she said coolly.

Then she took a step closer and said in a calm, arrogant voice,

"I wasn’t going to insult you. I don’t waste my time on people like you. But I also want you to know this, compared to me, you’ll never be enough. Spencer cried when we broke off the deal. I thought it was because of the pressure, but now I see... he probably got pulled into the whole ’poor princess with a noble heart’ trap."

She smirked. "Sooner or later, you’ll lose his favor. When the fairy tale ends."

Aurora raised one eyebrow and looked at Spencer. "Is that what you think too?"

Spencer didn’t even blink. He shook his head immediately and turned toward Isabella, glaring at her.

"If you have nothing better to say, leave. Or I swear, I’ll do everything in my power to bring you down, even if it means losing my own position."

Isabella looked stunned. She opened her mouth, then closed it again. Her hands trembled slightly. After a moment, she shook her head and gave a sarcastic chuckle.

"You’re going to regret this, Spencer," she said. "Seven years from now, when you’re roasting sweet potatoes at a street stall just to support Aurora, and I pass by in my Porsche... you’ll look at me with regret. You’ll wish you had just held my hand and saved yourself the trouble."

Spencer rolled his eyes. "Have you been watching too many soap operas lately?"

Isabella gave him a look. "I wish. But people like you? You always end up the same. You fall for a cinderella."

"Excuse me?" Aurora said, puzzled.

Isabella continued with a dramatic tone.

"A Cinderella, a fragile, poor, but proud girl who wants to rise to fame. Someone with ’good values’ and a pretty face. Rich men like Spencer see her and think, ’Oh, I’ll protect her. She’s special.’ And the girl? She uses him to rise up. That’s how it goes. A happy ending for her, for a while. Until she steps into high society."

She narrowed her eyes at Aurora. "Then she’ll get bullied. She’ll cry. She’ll feel small. And Spencer? He’ll get tired of helping her every time. That’s when he’ll regret marrying her."

Aurora blinked. Then, slowly, she clapped her hands with a small, amused smile.

"You know," she said, "you could write an entire novel with that drama. So many spin-off stories, too."

Isabella raised an eyebrow and smirked sarcastically. "Oh? What now? You gonna hiss like a little cat and scratch my face or something?"

Aurora didn’t react. Instead, she reached into her purse and pulled out something black and shiny.

A black card.

She waved it in front of Isabella, smiling coolly. "Here’s the thing, Isabella. Your entire story has one major plot hole."

Isabella frowned. "And what’s that?"

Aurora leaned closer. "I’m not poor. Never was. I’m richer than you could probably imagine."

Then she turned to Spencer and beckoned him with one finger.

Spencer stepped closer.

Without a word, Aurora leaned up and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. Then she looked at Isabella again and said clearly,

"Spencer’s my puppy now. I’m keeping him."

Isabella’s mouth fell slightly open in disbelief.

Aurora smiled, sweet and deadly. "So your entire story? Just a made-up fantasy. You’re the only one who’s delusional here."

For a moment, the restaurant lobby was silent.

Then Spencer gently took Aurora’s hand and said, "Let’s go."

Isabella quickly stepped forward and blocked Aurora’s path. Her voice was high with disbelief.

"Wait, what are you saying? That black card belongs to you?"

Aurora nodded calmly.

Isabella shook her head in shock. "No. That’s impossible. You’re lying."

She turned to Spencer, her voice trembling a little now.

"Spencer... You’re not the type to fall for money. You’re not someone who would sell himself just for wealth. Right?"

Aurora looked at Spencer with a soft smile and nodded. "You’re right, Isabella. He’s not that type of guy."

Isabella let out a small breath, feeling as if she had won. Her expression relaxed, just for a second.

But then Aurora continued, "He does like me a lot. But I didn’t want some overly dramatic relationship, so I asked him to be my puppy."

Spencer frowned a little at that, but stayed silent.

Isabella glared at him, eyes filled with betrayal. "You really agreed to that?"

Aurora didn’t care about Isabella’s stare. She looked straight at her and said clearly, "I get it, Isabella. You think the whole world spins around you. But without your daddy’s money, you’re nothing."

Isabella’s eyes burned with anger. "I’m everything! I built everything I have. I fought for it all. Not like you, probably using your daddy’s money to wave around that black card."
