Haider’s POV:

“Haider! I saide here!” Dad enunciated again. But something inside me bristled at his tone. I had done nothing wrong, and yet I was being treated like a disobedient child, being reprimanded for a crime I didn’t even know I hadmitted.
I frowned and shook my head as I raised my hand up.
“No. Wait. What do you mean ‘touched‘ your daughter?” I said. “You’re saying it like I assaulted her or something.”
Who the hell did this man think he was?
“Haider.” Mom spoke, her voice a low, warning thing that was filled with concern. Only then did I realize she and grandpa were also there. Standing. I hadn’t noticed before, my entire focus consumed by Sienna’s father.
But I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. My every instinct was telling me to fight back.
Who the hell even did he think he was? Sienna’s father? Where was he when she was going hungry for twenty- four hours? All she’d ever mentioned was her aunt. This man had no right to be here, to be making usations, to be acting as though he owned her.
“That’s because you lured her.” Mkai said, his voice furious filled with a deep, powerful rage. The words were a sharp, cutting blow that made my body go stiff. “I don’t believe Sienna would ever go after anyone… especially someone like you. There had to have been a reason.” He seemed to truly believe that she was incapable of acting on her own free will, that she was just a helpless, innocent child.
I frowned, my hands clenched. “How the hell would I lure her? I didn’t even know who she was before she bit me.” I paused before adding, “And anyways…why are you here alone? Where is she?” I asked. I looked behind him, where two of his men stood in ck suits.
My gut feeling had been getting worse and worse. Something was wrong. Was she okay?
“Mkai you’re going too far!” Mom was the one who spoke this time, her voice filled with anger.“He really didn’t know who Sienna is.” She said, her voice filled with a powerful conviction.
Mkai? His name was Mkai? Why did that sound so familiar?
“Fine. Okay. He didn’t know who she was.” Mkai said, his voice sounding reluctant. “But knowing what Sienna was, why would he purposely go after her even at school? You saw the CCTV. You can clearly see him dragging her around.” His usatory words made me go stiff.
Dragging her around…realization dawned on me then.
“I was taking her to a safe ce to let her drink my blood. She was starving… she hadn’t had any for twenty- four hours.” My voice was furious as I scoffed. “Funny youe all the way here to fight for her like this when you can’t even feed her. She was on the verge of passing out!” I shouted.
Mkai seemed stunned for a moment, a sh of hurt passing in his gaze before he nced at my Father and

asked. “So…. you’re saying all you did was try and help her? Not that you imprinted on her because she’s a legacy?”
I froze, my brows furrowing. His words finally registered. “Legacy…?”
My eyes widened then. No wonder the name Mkai sounded familiar. It was the name of Seraphina Legacy’s brother. “Wait.” I pulled up my hand, “You are Mkai Legacy?” I questioned, pletely taken aback.
Mkai’s brows were furrowed, as he looked at me up and down. It was obvious with the way he was looking at me that he had expected me to know, to have some idea of who he was. My ignorance seemed to confuse him.
Mom interjected again, “See? He wasn’t even aware.” She said. “He barely goes to the gs or events. How would he have known about her when they are both so low–key. You are making a huge deal out of this.” She meditated.
“I… get that you’re not human…” Mom said pausing and my gaze flitted to her. Her eyes were a tired, exhausted thing. I thought she hadn’t known about it, but it seemed that she was aware about vampires, too. Had dad told her? Her expression made it seem like she was still having a hard time believing it.
“And that Sienna isn’t one either… but she’s the one who hurt my son first. So how can you me him?” Her eyes locked onto Mkai, silent fury burning in her gaze, making me purse my lips. fncf72 Discover more novels at Find[?]ovel/fncf72
Well, she wasn’t wrong. Sienna had bit me first. But for some reason, the fact that she was ming Sienna didn’t sit right with me. I couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of protectiveness for her.
“And that’s why I am here topensate you for what she did!” Mkai said. “But I need you to keep your son away from my daughter and tell him to remove his imprint on her.” He said, pointing at me.
I frowned. He’d mentioned the word imprint twice now. “What are you talking about?” I murmured. The word reminded me of the twilight movie…surely he didn’t mean…
This time, the one to interject was my grandfather. “He isn’t a wolf. How would he imprint on her? Do you have proof it was even him? It could have been someone else your daughter went after.” He asked and my eyes widened. A wolf? So I was right about it being that kind of imprint.
“He might not be a wolf. But he’s the grandson of an Alpha Rogue like you.” Mkai said, his voice unyielding, filled with a deep conviction. “He still has the genes to imprint on her. As for proof,” Mkai eyesnded on me, a deep, piercing thing that was trying to dissect me.
“Sienna only ever bit two people. An old woman and him.” He then paused and added, “From which he’s the only one who remembers what happened.” He said. “Is that not proof enough? That he remembers being bitten?” He questioned with a curved brow.
Right. Sienna had been taken aback when she realized that I remembered… wait, no. What was he talking about? My head snapped to my grandfather, my eyes wide. “You’re a wolf?!” I questioned. My own mother was gaping at him in surprise so I guess I wasn’t the only one. But dad seemed unperturbed, like he’d known.
God, how
many more secrets did this family have? It was getting too much even for someone like me.
Sergei snorted then. “I’m supposed to be taking your word for it?” The words were low and mocking.

Mkai red at him, “I don’t need you to believe me. All you have to do is keep him away from my daughter…he can have anyone but her.”
