She went to the hospital for this today, but unexpectedly ran into Iris.

At first, she wanted to provoke Iris and use her as a tool to win Heriberto’s heart.

But Iris retorted hard, and Mnie couldn’t even fight back.

What puzzled her most was how Iris knew the baby she lost wasn’t Heriberto’s.

She wasn’t afraid of Iris telling him the truth.

Heriberto would never believe Iris anyway.

It had been over three years.

If he were going to believe Iris, she would’ve spoken up long ago.

Heriberto frowned hard instantly. His voice was low, and it was hard to tell whether he was angry. “Are you sure you want to do this?”

Mnie nodded fast. Her joy faded in an instant and was reced by deep sadness.

She looked down and said in a trembling voice, “You know what I regret most. Losing our baby almost broke me.”

Heriberto’s frown deepened.

After a few seconds of silence, he continued, “You always hate hospitals. This isn’t a small surgery. If you really want a child, Iris’s pregnant.”

“No, Heri!”

Mnie suddenly raised her head, eyes full of tears. She shook her head and begged, “I want to be a real mom and a real woman.”

Heriberto stared at her, and a piece of memory flooded back to his mind. Three years ago, Mnie overdosed on abortion pills given by Iris and nearly bled to death. He could remember how Mnie was lying there, soaked in blood, barely alive.

If he had arrived a littleter that night, Mnie wouldn’t have made it.

He owed her for that.

For three years, he tried everything to make it up to her.

He sent her to Oswalon and paid big money to get her into a music conservatory. He hired the best cello teachers for her and even funded her concerts.

When she wanted to return, he sent his private jet to bring her back.

Mnie didn’t just lose the baby and the womb.

Five years ago, in freezing weather, she even jumped into a river to save his life.

“Okay,” Heri said after a pause. He nodded. “Where did you get the womb? Is it from a legal, safe source?”

The moment he said yes, Mnie’s eyes lit up like stars. She was thrilled.

“Of course.”

She wiped away a tear and grabbed his hand again, smiling from ear to ear. “Heri, you’re so good to me. Having you in my life is the best thing ever.”

Heriberto gently pulled his hand back again, lowered his eyes, and gave a faint hum. “When’s the transnt?”

“In about a week.”

“Do you need anything from me before the surgery?” he asked.

Mnie shook her head. “No, you’re super busy. I’ve got it all covered. Just be at the hospital that day. That’s all I need.”

“Heri, as long as you’re there, I won’t be scared.” She gazed at him with deep affection.

Heriberto nodded. He was just about to say “okay” when a whole ss of ice water came flying straight at him.

It hit him perfectly and soaked him from head to toe.

Mnie shrieked and jumped up from her seat. She pointed at the woman who threw the water and screamed, “Who are you? What gives you the nerve to do that? Are you crazy?”

The woman’s eyes were cold and sharp like des. Shepletely ignored Mnie and cursed at Heriberto.

“Heriberto, you scumbag! You’ve got a wife and still mess around like this? You’re the worst kind of trash!”
