“Stop right there!” Margaret yelled again, “Do you know your dad called Iris, and what did Iris say?”

Aedan didn’t care what Beckett and Margaret thought of him, but he did care about Iris.

“She said she didn’t love you at all, that’s why she didn’t help your dad.”

Seeing Aedan stop, Margaret sneered and went on, “She also said you were just a dog by her side,ing and going whenever she called. She didn’t care about you at all, because even without you, there would still be countless dogs like you circling around her.”

Aedan listened to what Margaret said, his brows instantly furrowing, but he still turned back and asked with a lightugh, “Ms. Valois, do you think I would believe what you said?”

“You don’t trust me, who do you trust, that loser Iris?”

Margaret yelled, “She got divorced and had a kid, and she was so close with her ex–husband and Zayden. If it wasn’t for the fact that she could help your dad during the election, do you think I would have agreed to let you be with her?”

Aedan forced down his emotions and closed his eyes. “Who I’m with has nothing to do with you. If you dislike Iris so much, then I won’t ever bring her into this house again.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he just walked away.

“No matter if youe back or not, I’m telling you, you had to find a way to make that trash Iris support your dad, you hear me? If not, I’ll just die in front of you!”

Behind me, Margaret’s angry yelling kepting, like some kind of demonic noise from hell.

Almost like he was running away, Aedan quickened his pace to leave.
