“Ugh, ah…!”

The moment branches shot out from the Holy Spear, a tremendous pain surged through Aria's entire body. She gritted her teeth, barely holding back a groan, as she struggled to steady herself while her body was pushed back. Hastily wrapping herself in whatever defensive spells she could think of, she finally managed to soothe the burning sensation on her skin just a bit. She squinted, seeing the halted flow of time around her.

‘What is happening?’

Aria was confused.

And she had every reason to be. When she had broken Laura mentally, or when she found new “parts” to continue the world’s cycle, her regressions had never failed. But now, before her eyes, that absolute certainty was crumbling. Aria stared blankly at the Holy Spear, which extended in all directions like a spider web, holding time itself in place.

It was majestic. As much as it was a weapon that had wounded her and was now hindering her, she couldn’t help but acknowledge its awe-inspiring presence.

‘This… this can’t be…’

The realization that the Holy Spear had stopped the regressing time gave her chills. What was it, and what kind of potential did it possess that it could even interfere with time?

‘I never saw anything like that in the fragments…’

She had never seen anything like this in the fragments of the shattered world. She had thought that Mira’s massacre of humans and the subsequent radiance of the Holy Spear marked its awakening, but apparently, that wasn’t the case.

Even now, the Holy Spear was growing more powerful by the moment. The sky tangled with light, and soon the world ceased its regression, falling into complete silence. Time no longer flowed.

In any direction—forward or backward.

‘What… what should I do…?’

Aria anxiously bit her nails. She hadn’t anticipated this scenario. It was supposed to be simple: absorb the power, finish her final revenge, and reset the world with Mira.@@novelbin@@
