"That... that’s the one, right? The former Demon Lord’s general?"

"Yeah. She was the Succubus Queen before Nika."

"Figures," Leona muttered, glancing over Astaroth’s barely-there outfit, her chest even more prominent than her torso, and a body that looked like it could seduce anyone—man or woman—with ease. She nodded, as if it all made sense now.

Despite being a fragment from the past, with her body occasionally glitching and her expression half-melted, Astaroth looked much the same as she had before. Except for one key difference.

"How strong do you think she is?"

"Weaker than the original, definitely. She’s not alive, after all, just something spat out by unstable time. Plus... she doesn’t look exactly the same as when we last met."

The Astaroth before us was merely a construct, a remnant pulled from time’s turmoil. There was no way she could be stronger than the original.

The last time I encountered Astaroth, she had wielded a cursed sword, swinging it around with reckless abandon. Now, she was unarmed, indicating she was in her earlier form, during her time as a general. That meant she was no match for Leona now.

Leona, determined, gripped her holy sword tightly. The blade shimmered with a radiant golden light.

The Astaroth look-alike twisted and lunged at us, her movements crude and uncoordinated. It was clear she posed no real threat.

—Slice!

Before I could even step in, Leona’s holy sword severed Astaroth’s head. Her head rolled across the ground, her body taking a few steps before collapsing.

"Whoa... She really was weak," Leona murmured, looking between her sword and the fallen Astaroth. Given that Leona was now on par with her original self from the game’s ending, it wasn’t surprising. She had experienced not just the trials of the original story but even greater challenges.@@novelbin@@
