The clubroom fell into an abrupt silence.

There was a clatter as the dessert fork fell from Leona's hand, smearing cake onto the table. Rosaria’s plate tilted, causing her piece of cake to topple over. But no one paid any attention to that. They were all focused on Priscilla, who stood confidently in front of me. The reactions were due to two reasons.

The first was that someone was trying to disrupt the delicate balance that had unexpectedly formed around me. The second was that the first person to do so was Priscilla.

Priscilla, who was she? She was someone who usually clung to me, purring like a cat or rubbing her face against me like a puppy. And yet, here she was, boldly making the first move.

"…Why all of a sudden?"

I carefully adjusted my expression and voice, making sure I didn’t appear annoyed or reluctant. I genuinely didn’t feel that way; I was just surprised that it had finally come to this.@@novelbin@@

Honestly, I should have been more amazed that she hadn’t broken down during the seven years she lived without me. I had anticipated that, like Priscilla during our first meeting, she might develop a severe dependency on me.

Rosaria muttered in disbelief, not even bothering to chew the cake in her mouth. Elisier looked as though she had seen some sort of bizarre creature, while Laura’s eyes widened as if she were questioning her own senses.

"…Is this a dream?"

Leona mumbled softly, but the clubroom was so quiet that we all heard it clearly. Even Nika, who had been tending to us, was now staring wide-eyed at Priscilla.

Their reactions weren’t typical for someone who had just been asked out on a date, but considering that it was Priscilla who had made the move, it was understandable.
