Broken Possessors of Infinite Regression Academy
PAID Chapter 231
"When do you plan to tell them you’re a woman?"
At my question, Laura leaned back on the sofa with her signature smile still on her face. She sipped from the teacup in her hand, and I was about to assume she wouldn’t answer, but to my surprise, she spoke.
"Sooner or later, the truth will come out. I believe I mentioned this before. Why the sudden interest?"
"Look at the situation we’re in. Don’t you feel sorry for yourself?"@@novelbin@@
I stabbed at the tempting strawberry chocolate cake on the plate in front of me with a fork. There was quite a variety of desserts, ranging from Mont Blancs to mille-feuilles, macarons, and several dozen other types of sweet treats whose names I didn’t even know.
All of them had been sent by Aihenhart to emphasize just how domestic and womanly she was.
"You don’t seem to understand. Being able to exchange gifts with the Crown Prince on a personal level is a great honor. How many people in the Empire do you think can send him something directly, without any inspections?"
She wasn’t wrong. Even though I didn’t feel it while caught up in the middle of things, Laura was the next in line for the Imperial throne in this world. The mere fact that someone could send her gifts without going through an intermediary was an immense privilege, even for a member of one of the three great ducal houses of the Empire.
"And besides, this has been beneficial for the Crown Prince as well, hasn’t it?" Laura smiled at me, clearly pleased that I had found her homemade dessert amidst the sea of dishes on the table. She had brought it all the way here for this purpose, after all.
"That’s true, but it’s not like people won’t be shocked when they find out you’re actually a woman, right?"
I stroked Priscilla’s head as she picked off the strawberry from her cake and munched on it. Meanwhile, Rosaria was happily devouring the desserts beside us, thoroughly enjoying herself. This was a rare moment of bliss for Rosaria, who loved sweets so much that she could probably live on them alone if not for us.
Even though these were premium products, there’s always a noticeable difference between store-bought and homemade treats. Especially when it came to someone like Aihenhart, whose homemade goods could easily rival the best commercial desserts. The contrast made the experience of tasting them even more interesting, though it was really just an excuse to eat them.
