Brothel Manager 2 :Path of DUAL CULTIVATION
Chapter 53: Fire Chicken Egg!
Soya stepped forward with a graceful bow.
"And now, let's keep this fiery momentum going… the next item will appeal to those of a gentler disposition—"
Jia Kai, sitting silently all this while, narrowed his eyes and muttered, "That Magma Heart… it wasn't fully awakened. They're hiding its full potential."
Mo Han arched an eyebrow. "Oh? Really… You'll make a fine appraiser for my auction someday."
And with that, the next item was being wheeled to the stage.
This time, Soya directly slammed her hand on the mysterious box and opened it. The item resembled a normal rock without any particular specialty.
"Don't mistake this item for an ordinary rock," Soya announced with a mysterious smile. "This is an Earth element rock, which helps you comprehend the Earth element. Mostly useful for beginners.
I won't waste your time here. The bid starts from 300 spirit stones." Soya Khan said, raising her hand.
Soon, the bidding followed with excited shouts.
Suddenly, Mo Han turned around toward Jia Kai and asked, "I really can't believe this. Why are the treasures in this world so cheap? I think many big families have wealth of more than a million spirit stones. Then why are these treasures still selling at such low costs?"
Jia Kai smiled after hearing Mo Han's question.
"I think it's pretty basic. All the treasures sold by these auction houses are only helpful for cultivators under the Grand Master cultivation stage.
Once you cross the rank of Grand Master, all these spirit stones and treasures become useless. You must carry mana stones instead, which are very hard to obtain.
One mana stone is equal to a thousand spirit stones. And the treasures of that level cost in the hundreds of thousands of spirit stones." Jia Kai explained.
"What?!" Mo Han almost exclaimed in shock.
"Hehe… Brother Han, don't you even know this simple fact?" Fatty made a laughing noise.
"Then how could normal cultivators afford those mana stones?" Mo Han asked immediately.
"They can't. That's why many people can't even cross the stage of Grand Master.
To become a powerful cultivator, you must need a large amount of wealth—wealth that's unimaginable for a normal family.
Reaching the Grand Master stage is a great achievement for cultivators born in poor families," Jia Kai said with a disappointed look, as she clearly knew the cruel reality of cultivation.
"Brother Han, even if you cross the Grand Master stage, it's very hard to progress, as there won't be many treasures available.
No one will be ready to sell the treasures needed for Grand Masters," Fatty Lambu added.
Mo Han was dumbstruck for a second as he began thinking about the future.
Until now, he was only focused on cultivating as fast as he could to reach the Dragon Realm—all to save the creator of the weapon spirits.
But the plan suddenly seemed far less simple.
"I must find a way to become a wealthy man on this continent. Otherwise, I'll be stuck here for decades without any improvement in my cultivation," Mo Han thought, as he stared at the auction site.
While Mo Han was making plans to set up a fast-growing business on this planet, the auction continued on the main stage.
Treasures, fighting techniques, and defensive talismans were being sold at good prices, one after another.
People were excitedly making bids for every item placed in the auction.
Soya was also very happy, as each item was going at a higher price than expected.
"Here, take a look at the seventh item!
It's a mysterious egg. Even our experienced elders failed to find its origin.
Just because of that, we decided to place this thing in the auction.
It's Hit or Miss! Take the Gamble. It's all your luck," Soya announced as she revealed the blood-red egg.
She paused dramatically as the lights dimmed again, focusing all attention onto the stage.
The velvet cloth was pulled off the pedestal, revealing a football-sized egg, glowing with a deep blood-red hue.
Faint pulse lines ran across its surface like ancient runes, and occasionally, a subtle twitch shimmered under the shell as though something stirred within.
Whispers erupted.
"Is it moving?"
"No way, it's probably a rotten beast egg…"
"Could it be a divine beast's spawn?"
Then, an old man wearing bronze scholar robes from the Beast Research Hall stood up from the back. His eyes squinted beneath thick lenses as he pointed at the egg with a crooked finger and snorted loudly:
"That, dear friends, is just the egg of a common fire chicken! Ha!"
The hall burst into laughter. Even Soya barely suppressed a smile, covering her lips with her fan.
"Thank you, Elder Ji," she said diplomatically. "Yet... we'll still proceed with the auction. After all, mysteries are often misunderstood!"
She struck her jade gavel gently.
"Starting bid: 100 mid-grade spirit stones!"
Silence.
Not a single paddle raised.
The amusement lingered, and murmurs grew:
"Who would waste stones on that?"
From Room 7, where Mo Han sat reclined, the air was still.
Suddenly, a calm, uninterested voice broke the silence.
"Five hundred spirit stones."
It was Mo Han.
The entire auction hall froze for a moment.
Soya blinked.
"Room… 7? Confirming... Room 7 bids five hundred spirit stones!"
The crowd stirred.
"Is he crazy?"
"Did he think it's some divine phoenix's egg?"
"Or is he just buying it to show off?"
Elder Ji adjusted his lenses and laughed.
"Some rich fool has more stones than sense!"
But inside Room 7, Mo Han sat back, his eyes gleaming faintly.
Fatty Lambu turned toward Mo Han with a worried expression.
"Brother Han… that's five hundred. You sure you don't want to check if it's edible first?"
Mo Han remained silent, arms crossed, face indifferent.
Only Jia Kai, standing behind, noticed the faint shimmer in Mo Han's left eye.
"Going once… Going twice… Sold! The mysterious egg goes to Room 7 for five hundred spirit stones!"
Polite applause followed, mixed with chuckles.
Soya shook her head slightly but smiled.
"Well, that was unexpected! Now… on to our eighth item!"
Mo Han sat silently with a thoughtful look. He had seen something in the egg.
