Luo Yimeng and Zhao Jie stood stiffly in place, dumbfounded by the absurd scene unfolding before them.

Meanwhile, the Door Knocking Ghost on the other side of the wall was equally stunned.

The Knock-Knock Ghost began to panic. It reached out with its ghostly hand and patted the wall in disbelief.

After standing there in a daze, it slumped sadly against the cold surface, slowly sliding down to sit on the floor.

I’m the Knock-Knock Ghost, dammit!

No door meant… no knocking. And without knocking, what am I even supposed to do? Am I… laid off?

The humans had promised me a stable job at HQ—full benefits, fixed hours, guaranteed Paranormal Coin wages…

But if the door was gone, how am I supposed to claim its paycheck?

The Knock-Knock Ghost fell into a sudden midlife crisis.

Back in the room, Luo Yimeng stood still with her notebook in hand, frozen for quite some time.

This was… Bai Wan’s character skill?

He could delete a door? That’s so… ridiculously broken.

As the shock faded, Luo Yimeng's gaze on Bai Wan grew brighter and brighter.

What a convenient ability. 

With someone like this on a paranormal assignment, she imagined the entire squad would feel insanely safe.

She gave his ability extremely high marks…but then came a headache of a problem.

This test was meant to evaluate a hunter’s observation and deduction skills. Bai Wan had bypassed the challenge with sheer ability. What were they supposed to do now?

After a moment of thought, Luo Yimeng cleared her throat and asked, “Can we… run the first test again? But this time, without using your skills?”

But this wasn’t just any cabbage. One of its arms had grown massive and pale green-purple, radiating an ominous chill.

A pulse of cursed sonic energy blasted through the door—straight into the Knock-Knock Ghost outside.

Knock-Knock Ghost: “???”

This was the first time in its cursed existence that someone had knocked back. Shocked, and now thoroughly enraged, the ghost retaliated with a strong counter-knock:

BAM!

Get your damn leafy ass outta my job!

Cursed energy bursted back through the door. But Choy Man refused to back down.

BAM! 

Another fierce strike from its massive left arm. 

The opposing cursed waves clashed at the doorway, black mist sparking in the air.

HQ’s special-reinforced door somehow held firm… for now.

Then the battle escalated.

BANG!! 

BAM!!

Both sides now fought not for survival—but for knocking supremacy.

The temperature in the room plummeted. The knocks came faster and harder:

BANG-BANG-BANG!

BANG-BANG-BANG!

Cursed soundwaves exploded on contact, sending shockwaves tearing through the room.

The Knock-Knock Ghost was dumbfounded.

Who the hell’s the ghost here?!

Why does the guy inside match me in speed and power?!

It was like…watching its left hand fight its right hand!

Luo Yimeng could only gape.

Has something gone horribly wrong?

This was supposed to be a test of deduction against the ghost’s kill pattern…How did it turn into a competitive knock-off?

She and Zhao Jie were now speechless spectators to a legendary brawl: Choy Man vs. Knock-Knock Ghost.

Its fists blurred into afterimages. A domain of flying punches hammered the door in a rapid-fire blitz.

Each strike pulsed with cursed energy.

BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!!!

The Knock-Knock Ghost barely had time to react before it was blasted clean off its feet, flung far into the corner.

THUMP!

And finally—the HQ’s reinforced door reached its limit.

CRACK! Shards of splintered wood scattered across the floor.

Choy Man pulled back its fist with a proud nod, mission complete, and vanished into the ether.

CLATTER.

Luo Yimeng’s testing pen dropped from her hand.

Zhao Jie rubbed his eyes in disbelief.

Had they just witnessed a Chinese cabbage with ghost powers break down HQ’s specially reinforced door?

Luo Yimeng stood in the wreckage, her gaze on Bai Wan filled with shock and conflicted awe.

Was that… another of his character skills? That’s way too powerful. 

He didn’t just match the Knock-Knock Ghost—he bloody overwhelmed it.

So this was the legendary rookie who cleared the unsolvable dungeon.

As a veteran evaluator, Luo Yimeng didn’t even know how to score this anymore.

Worse—she and Zhao Jie now stared at the obliterated HQ door.

That thing wasn’t cheap…

It had been HQ’s official testing door for years.

And now?

Shattered. Gone. Reduced to splinters.

The Knock-Knock Ghost’s arm? Gone too—absorbed by a damn cabbage.

Bai Wan glanced at the two stunned evaluators and coughed lightly. “Uh… sorry. I didn’t mean to. The skill triggered on its own. Should we… redo the test?”

Luo Yimeng forced a smile and said weakly, “…No, that won’t be necessary. Let’s just… move on to Phase Two.”

Redo the test? Are you kidding me?

Everything was gone. The door. The ghost. The arm. The entire test design.

“Alright… I was hoping to show off my deduction skills too,” Bai Wan said, a little disappointed.

Seeing him still so eager, Luo Yimeng was mentally exhausted. She forced herself to stay calm and explained.

“Phase Two evaluates your overall combat capability. You’ll need to solve a few simple math problems while evading pursuit from a Drowned Ghost. It’s… considerably harder than the first test.”

Bai Wan’s eyes widened.
