Chapter 65 - Forum Shaken: Family’s Power Revealed for the First Time
Help Us Choose the Next Novel Again! 🐯
The Nightmare Haunted Campus dungeon was one many had been waiting for. Since it included a highlight clip system, this type of PvP dungeon was always a favorite among onlookers. This time, the dungeon even featured the “Family” himself.
After his first dungeon—Ghost Cruise, was abruptly shut down…
After his second, the unsolvable-level dungeon—The Letter, which received the highest player rating ever and spawned a string of absurd nicknames like Lucky Polygamist, Chicken Feather Assassin, and Grave-Wrecker of Lan City…
Curious players had long been desperate to see what chaos the Family would stir up next. So today’s PvP dungeon drew a massive crowd to the forums, where people waited eagerly. Spectating drama was humanity’s favorite pastime—even the players on the forums weren’t immune to such entertainment.
Still, because the evil-side this round was packed with veterans, most players didn’t expect much from the Family. Even so, his diehard fanbase turned out in full force:
“Liu Tong! Liu Tong!! Let childhood innocence live on!!”
“Everyone, protect the precious Liu Tong!”
The “Protect the Best Liu Tong” subforum was his main fan base headquarters.
Naturally, not all the noise was friendly.
“The Family’s doomed! Sharing a dungeon with my big bro Wu Di? Tough luck. He’s already killed off tons of official elites. What’s one more Liu Tong? May Liu Tong take his innocence back into the womb and reincarnate, haha…”
This post came from Wu Di’s little brother: Wu Xiaodi. The two were notorious criminals on the forum, constantly bragging about their PvP records. Unsurprisingly, his post ignited a flame war, with the Liu Tong fanbase descending in droves to clap back.
Inside a dark room, Wu Xiaodi was furiously typing rebuttals: “What a joke of a subforum. He’s just a lucky noob, and you think he can compare to my bro?”
“Let’s go, bro. Time to make your name.” He could already picture their glorious rise to fame once Wu Di killed the Family live on camera.
Just then, an odd reply popped up under one of his comments: “Dude… he’s not Liu Tong. Maybe do a bit of research before running your mouth??”
Wu Xiaodi stared for a moment, then laughed.
“What kind of moron is this?” he typed back. “If he’s not Liu Tong, then who is? You? Dumbass.”
…The other side fell silent.
Wu Xiaodi chuckled at their vanishing presence.
“Idiots. Internet’s full of clowns.”
He ignored that fool and resumed flaming Liu Tong’s fans. Especially one post—the person was typing at lightning speed, full-on brain-dead fangirl energy, firing a barrage of attacks at him:
“I hate you wanted criminals.”
“Your tricks aren’t even worthy of shining Liu Tong-oppa’s shoes!”
“He’s so kind and handsome! He lives every day to save the world! Everyone loves being friends with him! I heard he even got his teammate two wives in the last dungeon!”
“And what about you guys? Just mindlessly killing people like edgy teenage novel villains!”
Somewhere in a bedroom, a girl sat in a pink chair, slamming her keyboard like a maniac. Hair in twin pigtails, dressed in a tidy school uniform, her name was Lin Xinyue. A junior high student.
After being chosen to participate in the Paranormal Game, she’d initially felt hopeless—until she saw how the Family performed, who was a fellow rookie. She was utterly blown away.
His performance gave her strength. From that moment on, she became his most fervent supporter and even created the Liu Tong subforum in his honor.
Now, she was once again feverishly typing: “Comrades, let’s protect the best Liu Tong together aaaaah!!”
The forums were now in chaos. Family fans, villain fans, neutral lurkers, and even officials—everyone was shouting over each other.
Of course, no one expected results so soon. PvP dungeons usually took at least half a day before any major clashes.
But then, only thirty minutes into the dungeon—a short video suddenly popped up from the game system.
Everyone paused.
[The Door Vanished. If You’re Late… Whose Fault Is It?]
What kind of title is that? And how is there already a highlight clip just half an hour into the game?!
Everyone had the same thought: This… sounds like something the Family would pull.
Without hesitation, they clicked.
The video began with a quick summary of the dungeon rules:
- No fighting in front of surveillance cameras.
- Be on time for class.
Then the screen cut to Bai Wan meeting Yang Yujie and Wu Di. Naturally, the system had blurred their faces for privacy.
Seeing the trembling Family, Wu Xiaodi burst out laughing.
Knew it—he’s just a paper tiger!
Watching Wu Di threaten him with smug arrogance, Wu Xiaodi’s face was practically glowing with pride…
Until the screen cut to Bai Wan wiping the classroom door, and the door vanishing into a wall.
Wu Di’s stunned expression froze on screen.
Next, he was shown banging on the windows in panic, wailing: “Teacher, the door’s gone! I can’t get in! I can’t!!”
The entire audience went silent for a beat—then the comments exploded.
“Pffft—HAHAHAHA I’m dying!!”
“My door’s gone! I can’t get in! I caaaaaan’t!!”
“(Crying laughing) I gotta admit, the villain bit was gold.”
“That teacher’s blind. And that kill was hilarious.”
“Never seen someone get eliminated like that before…”
“Poor Wu Di. He really didn’t do anything wrong—except losing the door.”
The forums detonated. Everyone was now talking about the Family’s powers—this was the first time anyone had seen him use an ability.
“Wait… his power is removing doors? That’s nuts…”
“Actually kinda OP. It’s perfect for survival and ghost-blocking.”
“No wonder he beat an unsolvable dungeon. Dude’s cracked.”
As always, the meme squad showed up:
“I’m siding with the student. Door’s gone—what else can he do?”
“Yeah but the teacher wasn’t wrong either. Rules are rules.”
“Bro. The door LITERALLY disappeared. That’s not his fault.”
“Come on, the teacher’s only got one eye! You think she saw it?”
“So it’s okay to falsely accuse students just ’cause you’re blind?”
“Ugh, always crying about moral outrage. He should’ve just arrived earlier!”
“Should’ve made a door! Be the change you want to see!”
Meanwhile, Wu Xiaodi’s face was turning black. He was getting spammed with tags—and condolences.
“Don’t feel bad, Xiaodi. I side with your bro. Losing the door wasn’t his fault.”
“Yeah yeah, this was the teacher’s fault, not his. Stay strong.”
Even Liu Tong subforum’s founder Lin Xinyue joined in:
“Hey… not taking sides for a sec—but honestly, this wasn’t your bro’s fault. The door literally vanished. I think the teacher’s in the wrong. Stay strong, and may he rest in peace.”
Wu Xiaodi nearly smashed his computer.
Then burst into tears.
“Big bro… you died so miserably!!”
The system chimed in:
[System Notice]
Game has only been active for 30 minutes, yet one Team Evil player failed to locate the classroom door, missed the check-in time, and died.
Player “Family” has eliminated player “DownWithTheSystem”
A highlight moment has been recorded. Reward: 100 Paranormal Coins.
After reading this absurd system summary, the players couldn’t hold it in any longer. They were laughing themselves to death.
Meanwhile, Su Yuening was quietly scrolling through the endless stream of dumb comments, grinning to herself.
