Chapter 376 The Brother’s Warning

Kirby’s POV

The voice from that shy red sports car was brazen enough to light a fire in my chest.

My mint pheromone sharpened instantly, dangerous, my wolf form wing at the surface, ready to tear apart whatever clown dared step out.

But when I saw who it was, I froze.

Carl stood there, hands shoved in his pockets, a smirk curving his lips, eyes dark and stormy, a weight of warning rolling off him.

I faltered. Leslie’szy smirk cut into me, and I clenched my jaw, forcing myself to let go.

Lance cackled in my head, iCarl/i? iHer /iibrother/i? iYou /iitried /iito /ikiss ihis /iisister /iiin /iifront /iiof /ihim? iYou’re /iifinished/ii! /i

The air went still, heavy with unspoken challenge.

Liam shrank to the side, desperate to vanish.

Leslie smoothed her dress without sparing me so much as a nce and slid into the car. Her resin pheromone pricked me like thorns, leaving a dull ache in my chest.

So that was it–this so–called rival was her brother.

How the hell was I supposed to win over her family now?

A wave of regret twisted through me. I knew better than anyone how the Rogue Pack brothers doted on her–madly, obsessively.

Carl, the so–called Wandering de… I’d heard the name. In a fight, I wasn’t even sure I’de

out on top.

I clenched my fists, coughed, and forced a crooked smile. “Carl. What a coincidence…”

Hisugh was sharp and cold. His eyes were full of disdain, like I was nothing but an intruder. “Coincidence? Since when did your skin get this thick?”

My face twitched. No one dared speak to me like that. Anyone else would already be on the ground bleeding.

But Leslie’s brother was a different matter.

iBite it /idown, iKirby/ii. /iDon’t ruin ieverything /iinow/ii, /iLance muttered.

So I turned away, tail between my legs, and climbed into my car.

Damn it. Tonight I’d lost face.

Leslie’s POV

Leiss’s banquet was extravagant–an entire hotel reserved, the halls dressed like a wedding, money poured out without restraint.

I looped my arm through Carl’s, exchanging greetings at the entrance before walking in.

iLook /iiat /iithis /iispread/ii, /iAsphodel sniffed. iEven /iithe /iiCrimson /iiMoon /iibetas /iican /iithrow /iimoney /ilike bithis/i/bi? /i

At the entryway stood a framed portrait of Leiss and his mate, Kelly, both in traditional bond ceremony garb.

Leiss looked radiant, joy written in on his face. Kelly was pretty, soft features, but her smile was stiff–posed more than heartfelt.

I stared at it, unsettled. I barely knew of her.

Back in Crimson Moon, I’d kept to myself. I’d hardly crossed paths with Leiss, let alone his

mate.

Carl studied the photo, sighing. “Kelly’s the daughter of Snow Pack’s Alpha. An Omega, unfortunately. Years ago, her family wanted to strengthen ties with Crimson Moon through her. But you know Kirby–he’d never ept her. So Leiss stepped in, made the bond.”

I blinked, almost sure I’d misheard.

Wasn’t this just another Amelia?

The only difference–Kelly hadn’t turned obsessive, clinging to Kirby the way Amelia had.
