Burning The House Of Cards: taking revenge on my billionaire family
Chapter 132 - 131. If There Is No Karma, It Just Needs To Be Created
CHAPTER 132: CHAPTER 131. IF THERE IS NO KARMA, IT JUST NEEDS TO BE CREATED
The house manager, unlike usual, only looked at the chairman. He didn’t even seem to register Sarah and Amber’s presence inside the room.
Glancing at the older sister, Sarah asked loudly. "Who’s Vivian?"
"Young Miss?" the house manager flinched upon realizing Sarah was there. And then his eyes registered Amber next, and his face turned even paler. "Oh, that..."
It was the first time Sarah had seen the house manager get flustered, and she had to admit that it was rather satisfying.
"Father’s newest side chick," Amber told her, finally moving from her spot toward the door. "Though I suppose she’s not new anymore since it has been months."
Sarah snapped her fingers. "Ah, the one he brought to Mirae’s party?"
"That’s the one," Amber nodded. She narrowed her eyes slightly in curiosity, wondering if Sarah truly didn’t know who Vivian was.
Of course, Sarah knew who Vivian was. She had to know her pawn, even if the person had no idea they had become one.
Honestly, Sarah didn’t mean to use this tactic at first--if she did, she would have paid someone to seduce her father a long time ago. If using anyone could work, she would have asked Sol to find her that kind of person.
The only reason she decided to use the mistress was that she realized this one was different. The chairman was quite a prolific lover who changed women as easily as snapping his fingers. This woman, however, had been his mistress for almost a year, not to mention becoming his plus one at an important event. That showed how special Vivian was.
Well, as special as a mistress could be.
From what Honey told her, Vivian was rather intelligent, but innocent and prone to influence. The book-smart type of girl who easily fell for a playboy. She was very pretty too, and managed to win a beauty pageant even though she only participated because her mother told her to.
Sarah had no idea what transpired behind the door, but Lee Hyuk seemed to adore her seeing that he stayed in her penthouse often. At the very least, she knew Vivian was a better conversation partner than Mina.
And the chairman...the chairman was weak for those he adored. If it were another mistress or the woman he briefly met for fun, he would have told the security guards to drive them away. But the guards knew he had a soft spot for Vivian, so they couldn’t turn her away at the gate.
Still, the chairman looked surprised. He glanced at his phone screen curiously, since there was no notification signaling her text or calls for the past few days. "How is she here?"
"Using a vehicle, I assume?" Amber shrugged, stopping beside Sarah by the door. "Just like that woman now prancing around like she’s a madam."
Sarah laughed and turned to look at her father while holding the office door. "What’s wrong, Chairman?" she gestured outside. "This is hardly the first time for you."
Meanwhile, the staff members and the housekeeper were also panicking in the grand hall; their expression mirroring that of the house manager. A beautiful young woman in designer clothes was standing in front of the door with determination in her eyes.
"I want to see Hyuk-ssi," Vivian said with clenched fists beside her thighs. "Please call him here."
"The chairman is busy, Miss. Please go home for now, we have an event tonight," the housekeeper said firmly, even though they hadn’t made any confirmation to the chairman yet.
"Well, it’s not the night yet, so it’s fine," Vivian scoffed, fishing out her phone. "I’ll just call him."
The housekeeper bit her pale lips, wondering what else she should do. Thankfully for her, at that moment, an irritated voice came from the stairs.
"What is this commotion?" Jeong Mina looked at the young woman with narrowed, cold eyes as she walked down the stairs and stopped not far from the congregation. The house staff bowed and retreated slightly, while the housekeeper let out a relieved sigh.
Vivian flinched slightly in front of the cold, intimidating gaze, but she recalled what her new friend told her: that woman was no different from her in the past. No, she was better than that woman. She at least finished her university and got her master’s degree. She wasn’t just a brainless bimbo with a pretty face.
And that woman was already aging. Sure, she used to be a beauty, but that was already two decades ago--and at least Vivian won her beauty pageant without the help of a sponsor like her.
If she looked at it like that, this madam didn’t seem so grand anymore.
Vivian crossed her arms and scoffed. "It’s hardly a commotion."
The corner of Mina’s eyes twitched. "And who is this...tramp?"
Vivian’s eyes hardened. "That’s rich coming from a whore like you."
The staff members gasped softly around the room, but a loud exclamation came from another stairway--a different one from what the third wife used. "Whoaa...it’s a good decision to come here," Sarah clapped slowly but loudly as she walked down the stairs.
Amber, who followed her, just shook her head with a disgusted expression as if saying nothing was amusing about this kind of cheap drama.
They weren’t the only ones who came, however, and Vivian gasped when he saw the chairman. "Hyuk-ssi!"
Ignoring the ’madam’ of the house, she ran toward the chairman, who was already at the bottom of the stairs. The old man frowned slightly, but he still caught Vivian gently and received her embrace.
"Vivian, why are you here?" the chairman asked while caressing the mistress’s hair lightly.
"What do you mean why am I here?" Vivian looked up, looking teary-eyed and frustrated. "You haven’t replied to any of my messages."
"What?"
The chairman looked even more confused. Clearly, there weren’t any texts or calls coming to him, which was why he hadn’t been seeing her these past three days. But it was weird for her to lie about something like that, and she didn’t look like she was lying either.
If he looked around a little bit, he might see his second daughter smiling mysteriously at this anomaly. But how would he suspect someone messed up with Vivian’s phone? He didn’t have the leeway to think about that with what the woman said next.
"Do you not care about me anymore?" Vivian got even more teary-eyed, making her beautiful face look soft and vulnerable. "Are you throwing me away now that I’m pregnant?"
"What?!"
The exclamation came not only from the third wife, but also from the staff members and Amber. Sarah clasped her mouth dramatically to hide her smirking lips, but the chairman himself didn’t seem surprised. Just tired.
"You’re not, aren’t you?" Vivian clenched the chairman’s shirt tightly.
"Vivian..."
Leaning against a decorative table, Sarah whistled loudly like a menace. "I’m getting a younger sibling? Must be fun!"
"Sarah..."
"What?" Sarah shrugged as gazes turned toward her. "It’s not my first time--oh! Isn’t this such good timing? We’re having a family dinner, so it’s a great way to welcome a new family member!"
"What the hell are you talking about?!" the third wife finally woke up after getting petrified by the news, eyes bulging in anger. "How could this woman--"
She stopped and bit her lips tightly, clenching her teeth to stop herself from slipping up. Sarah curled her lips, enjoying Mina’s confusion. Yeah--just like what she did to the other mistress, it seemed like Mina also sent a few people to threaten Vivian.
At least they tried to, before some people took care of them first.
Haa...to think she would even provide protection to her father’s mistress...
Sarah would have lamented if it wasn’t for the satisfaction she got from seeing Mina’s flabbergasted face.
"My, my...what is this reaction, Madam?" Sarah shook her head in fake exasperation. "Surely, you can’t say you didn’t see this coming? I mean...you did this yourself in the past."
"You--" Mina snapped her head toward Sarah. The whispers coming from the staff and the snickering sound from Amber flamed her fury. She pointed her finger at Sarah angrily. "You’re behind this, aren’t you?!"
Sarah tilted her head. "Huh? You mean I got a girl pregnant?"
"You know what I mean!"
"So aggressive?" Sarah gasped. "I have only ever met this woman once anyway--right, Miss?"
Vivian flinched in surprise, before nodding slowly. "Huh? Oh, yeah..."
"I don’t believe it! You must be--"
"Oh, come on! Why are you so spiky?" Sarah rolled her eyes. "At least she’s not your best friend."
"Lee Seul-ah!"
Mina, forgetting about the mistress, walked briskly toward Sarah. But the younger one was faster, and before Mina knew it, Sarah was already in front of her, hand raised and swinging.
SLAP!
"Kyaah!" Vivian clutched the chairman’s shirt, her eyes widened as she saw the second daughter slap the madam’s cheek. The echo of the hard slap reverberated even longer than her own shriek.
