Calculating My Way To Immortality
Chapter 54: Inheritance
CHAPTER 54: INHERITANCE
"You passed the test," Fu Yue said.
"Welcome to the cultivation library," Zhen Yue added.
Yu Tian looked at the two. "Cultivation library? I thought this was an inheritance for talismans and formations," he said.
"The formations and talismans are something we came up with since we were bored," Zhen Yue said. "The real reason for the inheritance tomb is to pass on knowledge to the younger generation. Such is the will of the Grand Elder," Fu Yue added.
"Ah, the Grand Elder. I wonder how he’s doing," Zhen Yue spoke in reverence, and Fu Yue joined him. They then linked arms and began dancing around in circles.
Xueling looked at the two. Wasn’t this supposed to be a tomb? They didn’t look like dead people at all. Even if they were remnant spirits, they were way too lively.
"You two, are you really dead?" Xueling asked.
"You’re smart," Fu Yue said, parting from the other twin. "That’s right, we’re not dead," Zhen Yue confirmed.
They then linked their hands again. "But we might as well be dead, being stuck here for so long," they said in unison.
Yu Tian watched with a straight expression.
Xueling noticed this and turned to look at him. "Are you into this kind of person?" she asked.
"Sorry, I’m not into men," Yu Tian replied. He was wondering what these two were getting by pretending to be women.
"Men?" Xueling exclaimed. Even the twins paused.
"You noticed?" Fu Yue asked. "But that’s impossible. We don’t even have our bodies here," Zhen Yue added in surprise.
The two flew over to Yu Tian’s position, circling around him and observing him closely. Xueling had a shocked expression. "They’re really not sisters but brothers?" If they hadn’t confirmed it, she wouldn’t have believed it.
Even now, she found it hard to believe.
"You..." Fu Yue began. "You look familiar," Zhen Yue concluded.
"Familiar?" Yu Tian asked.
The twins ignored his question and flew to the top shelves. "Anyway, you two passed our test," Zhen Yue said. "You can pick any book here as a reward," Fu Yue added.
Yu Tian glanced at them. It seemed they weren’t willing to talk about it.

He glanced at the book he had noticed earlier.
"Are you sure about that?" Fu Yue asked.
Yu Tian exhaled. He then moved past it and picked another book. "Formations for Dummies - By Grand Elder Xiang."
Although he could feel that the other book was definitely of greater value, it wasn’t what he needed at the moment. Besides, for some reason, his ability showed his chances of survival went to zero if he picked up the Cultivation 101 book.
"Wise choice," Zhen Yue said. "If you really picked that one, that psycho Liu Feng would’ve hunted you down for it," Fu Yue said.
They then looked at each other. "It’s the only remaining copy to complete his collection. Last time, he even fought with the Chairman for it."
"Liu Feng?" Yu Tian wondered.
"Anyway, what about you?" Fu Yue asked, looking at Xueling.
She looked at the book before her: "The Art of Love - By Sect Master Li." She sighed and pushed past, picking another one instead. "The Fall of Runesmithing & the Rise of Talisman Making - By Chairman Liu."
"I’ll take this one," she said, walking over to Yu Tian and handing him the book. "Now you have the full set," she said.
"Are you sure?" Zhen Yue asked, and Xueling nodded.
"You seem to like that guy and he doesn’t seem to feel the same towards you. Are you sure you don’t want to change your choice?" Fu Yue asked.
"You know, back in the day, the Sect Master loved the Grand Elder but he didn’t feel the same way, yet she was able to make him fall for her. Are you really not going to take her teachings?" Zhen Yue asked.
"The Sect Master can even be considered the goddess of love. If you read her teachings, you’ll be able to make anyone fall for you," Fu Yue added.
Xueling shook her head. "I don’t need such things. I’ll make him fall for me with my own effort," she said.
She then looked at the two. Besides, they were acting way too desperate. Something must be wrong with this book.
...
The twins let out a sigh. "We failed," they said.
"So you really were trying to scam me!" she shouted at them.
"What scam? All we said is true," Fu Yue said defensively.
She then glanced to the side. It’s a shame they couldn’t get rid of this cursed book, but it also wasn’t a loss. This Yu Tian kid seemed promising, so it could be said that they accomplished their mission and can return.
"Since you’ve chosen your rewards, the cultivation library will disappear in thirty minutes," Zhen Yue said.
"Disappear? You mean the entire secret tomb?" Xueling asked.
"That’s right. Now that we’ve accomplished our mission of passing on the inheritance, there is no more point in staying here," Fu Yue said.
"Feel free to rest here for the remaining time. You’ll be automatically kicked out when the time is over," Zhen Yue said, and the twins disappeared.
"They’re gone... I still wanted to ask them a few things," Xueling said.
She then turned to face Yu Tian. "What do you think? Can we win with this?" she asked.
"Definitely," he said with a bright smile.
These books he had picked up didn’t have any formations, talismans, or rune blueprints - they were just theory.
But the knowledge was comprehensive. Some of it Yu Tian couldn’t even understand; it was even harder to decipher than the high-grade manuals. Even so, whatever he could understand was still extremely useful. With this theory, he could easily come up with his own blueprints to help them win the battle.
There was just a little problem though... he didn’t have any formation discs or paper to draw talisman blueprints on. Well, this should be easily solvable by just using runes.
"Give me your sword," Yu Tian said.
Xueling reached for her sword and handed it over.
Yu Tian thought that according to the book, he should be able to draw runes on weapons. Although he wouldn’t be able to use the formations due to lack of formation discs, they should be able to win with this.
