CHAPTER 12: CHAPTER 12: GU ANXI, DO YOU HATE US?

Gu Anxi then said calmly, "I forgot to tell you something. I’m planning to move out."

Wang Keru was stunned. She remained dazed for a long moment, unable to react.

Gu Anxi stood up, still composed. "My father needs someone to take care of him, and... I’m quite redundant here."

Wang Keru sat quietly for a long time before finally managing to say, "Gu Anxi, do you know what you’re saying?"

Gu Anxi remained calm. "Of course, I know."

Wang Keru gritted out, "If you walk out that door, don’t ever come back. Think carefully."

Gu Anxi’s departure symbolized betrayal. But to Gu Anxi, wasn’t Wang Keru’s remarriage also a betrayal?

Gu Anxi went upstairs and came down with a small suitcase.

Wang Keru looked up at her daughter, her eyes bloodshot. "Gu Anxi, can’t you be a little more sensible?"

Sensible? Gu Anxi laughed softly. What does being sensible mean? Does it mean profiting from Father’s suffering, feeding on his very life?

She left without looking back.

Wang Keru, somewhat losing her composure, cried out from behind her, "I will sell your Clear Water Yun Tian! I will!"

Qin Han frowned as he looked at his wife. She’s losing her composure, he thought.

Gu Anxi paused, her words a mere whisper, "Do as you wish."

She walked away, her back straight and her demeanor resolute. Wang Keru murmured, "She’s truly impossible to win over. After coming back, she’s like a different person, not close to me at all."

Qin Han had heard bits and pieces about Gu Anxi’s behavior at school. He’d been told that Gu Anxi sometimes associated with questionable individuals and even got into fights, so his impression of her had worsened.

Who would want such a girl as their daughter-in-law anyway?

Qin Han patted the back of his wife’s hand and smiled slightly. "Anxi is a child with her own mind; let’s not push her."

Wang Keru leaned back in her chair. It’s over, she knew.

Previously, Qin Han’s attitude had been ambiguous, but now he was unequivocally taking a side.

Wang Keru’s face was ashen, but Gu Anxi had already left.

The Qin family lived in a villa district where no public transport ran nearby. It was a half-hour walk to the bus stop. Gu Anxi, however, wasn’t in a hurry and strolled leisurely.

Qin Siyuan’s car stopped beside her, the window rolling down. "Get in."

Gu Anxi ignored him and continued walking forward.

Qin Siyuan got out of the car, strode quickly towards her, and grabbed her arm. "Gu Anxi, when will you stop causing trouble and just be a little more obedient, like you used to be?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Gu Anxi’s gaze fell on his face.

Her cold aloofness left Qin Siyuan somewhat disconcerted.

Gu Anxi let out a cold laugh. "Didn’t you find someone else?"

Qin Siyuan’s breath hitched.

She, however, had already pulled away from him and continued walking forward.

He stood there, watching her white-clad figure retreat further and further, exuding an aura that kept everyone at bay.

Qin Siyuan suddenly called out loudly from behind her, "Gu Anxi, do you hate all of us?"

He thought she wouldn’t answer. But Gu Anxi turned her head, looked at Qin Siyuan, and said flatly, "We have no connection. Don’t use such harsh words so casually in the future."

It was rare for her to say so much to him. It feels like I’ve waited a century for this, Qin Siyuan thought.

But all he could do was stand there and watch Gu Anxi walk away.
